Revenge

"How did I let you talk me into this, again?" Hurri asked Ice.

"I said 'Let's go kick ass and take names.' You agreed." Ice answered.

"And I said 'Let's do it for Nix." Lily added. We were all crouched behind an unoccupied military truck, with a line of sight to several F-34 Hawks.

"So now would be a bad time to call our raid off?" Hurri asked. I glanced at the heavily armed guards patrolling the interior of Scott Air Force Base.

"Our plan to get in barely worked. Our plan to get out was to blow some shit up, shoot some guards, and run. Now would be a very bad time to call this off." I said.

"I love how technical you are." Ice said, lifting the Javelin V3 she had acquired a few moments before, from our friend laying in front of us.

"Stuff is stuff, no matter what stuff you're doing stuff to." I said.

"Shut up." Lily hissed as a pair of guards approached on the other side of the truck.

"-Know, right? It's like half of us are here now, but in a few minutes, it'll be double what it should be." Their conversation carried to us.

"I gather we should do whatever the hell were going to do in the next few minutes." Lily said, hefting her Javelin V4.

"I'll take the two nearest to us. Cite, use your bomb on the tank to our left. Lily, Ice, fire where you can do the most damage." Hurri said. I nodded, slipping the blocks of plastic explosive, detonator, and duct tape that I had made.

"Do you think Honda thought of us using the self destruct mechanism in their car?" I asked.

"They did. There's a whole section in the operator's manual about how to take it out and rig it with what's in the car." Lily said, peeking around the truck. "I've got my target. Ice?"

"You're not aiming for the bomber hangar, right?" She asked.

"Nope, but that is a good choice, especially with the explosive radius of the V3."

"On three." Hurri said, rifle gripped tightly in her hands. "One... Two... Three." Everyone sprang into action. Without the idiotic split second warning evil henchmen got in every movie ever when the good guys yelled three, the guards went down hard and fast.
But the sound of out shots were nothing compared to the sound of a tank's munitions exploding
Or that of a hanger full of munitions and very large gas tanks going boom.
"I believe we have our exit." Ice said, nodding towards the half dozen soldiers rushing towards the inferno. The two infernos. Lily had taken a shot at the main munitions depot, and it was now in flames, popping with new explosions every few seconds.
"Ditch it Lily, then go first. Ice second, leave it as well. Then me, then Cite. Don't shoot. Act like you know where the hell you're going." Hurri said, glancing backward. "Go."
It went more or less according to plan. Leading with seemingly a sense of panic, but following orders, Lily managed to get us nigh on to our exit, the main gate, before she was questioned, which Hurri managed to smooth over, and, with a quick story and some fast talking, we got out of the gate without wasting a round.
"Anyone want to guess how much we just burned?" I asked, grinning, as we half ran to a bend in the road, which dropped off to a relatively unused dirt road, where our car was.
"A lot." Ice answered dryly. "But not enough."
Hurri nodded. "Lily, you're driving." She said as we half crawled, half slid down the slope that hid our car.
"On it." Lily said, already sliding into the drivers seat. The rest of us followed, Ice in the front, Hurri and I in the back.
"We need computers. And someone we can trust." Hurri said, already poring over a map of the U.S. as we began to move.
"We could try Chicago. If Sky was there, there's a good chance that a few of the other Warriors are there." Ice said.
"Or we could get closer to York, maybe try to get Fly out." I said.
"We're going to Cleveland." Hurri said, which got looks from everyone in the car. "Last I heard, Skittles was running her crazy-ass gang out of that city. And, last I heard, it's one of the few pro-rebel cities on this side of the rockies."
"Great, Cleveland." Lily said, turning off of our road onto one heading east.
"I never liked Cleveland."
