*Spencer POV*
I wake up around 3 the next morning not getting a lot of sleep. I get dressed for the day then go downstairs. I make my self some tea and sit in the living room drinking it. You may be wondering why I'm up this early. Or not. But I'm gonna tell you. I couldn't sleep last night. I got to bed around midnight so I've only had 2 hours of sleep. I keep thinking about my aunt and everything I've been through. My thoughts are broken when my phone rings. I look at the clock and see it's 3:30. I look at caller ID and see that it's Nell.
S-hey Nell
N-hey Spence. You ok
S-yeah.
N-how much sleep did you get
S-I don't know
N-liar. Now how much sleep did you get
S-how did your number get put into my phone
N-I'm a computer genius
S-you hacked my phone
N-sort of. When I hugged you after our walk I grabbed it and gave it to Eric. He did all that and then put my number in there. I gave it to you so if you ever wanted to talk you had someone
S-oh.
N-now how much sleep did you get
S-six hours
N-don't believe it
S-three
N-Spencer you need more sleep than that
S-I just couldn't sleep and I can't get back to sleep
N-Spence you need sleep so you're more aware of things
S-I'm not coming in today anyways. I have stuff to do with the band
N-but still you need to be able to pay attention with your band
S-Nell
N-no. Get some sleep
S-I'm not tired
The line goes dead and I put my phone in my pocket. Fifteen minutes later there's a knock on my door. I go and open it. Standing there is Nell and Callen.
"What" I ask
"You know most people welcome people in if they know them" Callen says
"Fine. Come on in" I say
They walk in and we go to the living room. They sit down and I take a seat on the couch.
"Why can't you sleep" Callen asks
"I couldn't sleep" I say
"No. Not the reason" he says
"seriously. I couldn't sleep" I say
"Spencer look me in the eyes" he says
I look him in the eyes but quickly turn away as tears stay to form. Callen comes over to me and pulls me into a hug.
"It'll be alright. We'll get to the bottom of this." He says
"Why is this all happening to me and this quick" I ask
"We don't know. But none of this is relating back to you. All of these things are for different reasons" Nell says
"Why do you guys care so much" I ask
"Because. We're all like family. We look out for each other and take care of each other" Callen says
"Thanks Grisha. That means a lot coming from you" I say
"No problem. Now what time do you have to meet up with your band? It's 6:30 right now" he says
"8" I say
"Alright. Then let's all go out for breakfast" Nell says
"What do you mean by all" I ask
"Ana, Deeks, Kensi, Sam, Nell, Eric, me, you" Callen says
"I guess" I say
"Great let's go. You can either go with me or Nell" He says
"I'll go with you" I say
We leave and head to the vehicles. Callen starts his car and drives to Denny's. We get there and all the others are hangin out in the parking lot. We get out just as Nell arrives. Callen walks over to the others but I wait for Nell. Once the car is in park I open her door for her.
"Why thank you" she says
"You're welcome" I say
We go over to everyone and say our hellos then go inside.
"Hello welcome to Denny's how many" the lady asks
"8" Sam says
She nods and gestures for us. We follow her to a space and push a few tables together. We thank her then sit down. The table order goes: Eric, Sam, Deeks, Kensi, Ana, Callen, me, Nell.
"So I have to be at the studio at 8 so we only have 1 hour" I say
"I called Joey and said you're going to be a little late. He said it was fine cause Chad won't be in until 9 so you have until then" Callen says
"When did you get Joey's number" I ask
I then glare at Eric and Nell.
"Don't look at me. I didn't do anything wrong" Nell says
"I saw Eric was hacking into your phone so I asked him to give me the number of Joey cause I remembered that he was one of your band mates" Callen says
"What about the rest of you. Did you guys do anything to my phone. Well other than Deeks? I already know what he did. I discovered that when I mistakenly hit my photos app" I ask
"No" they say
"Spencer I know you don't want to talk about the case or anything but have you told your mom yet" Kensi asks
"Yeah. I told her I'd keep her updated." I say
"How are you holding up with the whole thing" Ana asks
"Ok. I mean it's hard to deal with but everyone has those hard times in their life" I say
"I don't believe it" Deeks says
The food comes and I take that opportunity to avoid Deeks comment. I grab my fork and knife and start eating. Once I'm done I hand them some money to help pay and go outside. I remember that I didn't bring my car so I start walking. I don't get very far when a car pulls up next to me. The window rolls down and I see Deeks.
"Get in" he says
"I'm gonna walk" I say
"Get in the car Spencer" he demands
I ignore him and keep walking. All of a sudden it starts to downpour raining. Of course it usually wouldn't be bad but I'm wearing a short sleeve shirt. I hear a horn honk and see it's Deeks again.
"Come on Spencer just get in the car. I'll take you home so you can change and go to the studio" he says
"I'm alright" I say
I keep walking then feel a jolt and fall to the floor. I look up and even though it's a little fuzzy I see Deeks walk over to me.
"Sorry Spence. I had to do what I had to do" he says
He helps me up and guides me to the car. He gets me in the back and buckles me in. He gets up front and starts the car again. Once it stops I look and see we're at ops. He gets out and he helps me out and we go inside.
"Mr. Deeks what happened to Mr. Kane there" Hetty asks
"Can he have dry set of clothes" Deeks asks
*Deeks POV*
I'll tell her but when Spencer isn't in the room. I know that's why he walked out in the first place. Hetty walks around the corner then comes back with some clothes. Spencer takes them and shuffles to a changing room.
"Alright come to my office" Hetty says
I nod and follow her. We get to her office and she sits behind it and I take a seat in front of it.
"Now Mr. Deeks what is going on with Mr. Kane" Hetty asks
"He's wanting to quit. He keeps saying this getting too much for him. It's like my situation but way worse. We're all trying to help him but this case is way too close to home." I say
"That I can tell. But what just happened to Mr. Kane" she asks
"We all went out for breakfast and everyone kept on asking questions about how he is and he was getting frustrated. He walked off. He then started walking home so i pulled up along side him and told him I'd give him a ride. Then when it started raining I offered to take him home or to the studio but he continued walking so I did the only thing that would stop him. I tasered him" I say
"Ah. It looks like a lot of the guys here like to go on the run when they are going through a hard time. Well until there's a women in their life" Hetty says
"Why did I never go on the run" I ask
"Miss. Blye has always been in your life. She just never realized and you never admitted. Mr. Callen settled with Joelle then she left and he was on the run again and then he settled again with Miss. Kolcheck. Now Sam is a whole different story. He doesn't really go on the run but when his wife was in danger he did. And when she died he did. But he's settled down now because his children are on his mind." Hetty says
"I was thinking that maybe we could call Nate and see if he'd talk with him." I say
"Very smart idea Mr. Deeks but I don't think that's what Mr. Kane needs." Hetty says
"Then what does he need? I want to help him. I've been in his situation. I know how he feels. I want to help him out of the situation. Because once you're in it once it's easy to be back there. And I know because I was. No one else knows this but you now" I say getting a bit upset
"Mr. Deeks you need to calm down and control your emotions. I think Mr. Kane just needs a break from work. From both jobs. He needs to go see his mom and get his mind off things." Hetty says
"That's not what I need" we hear
I look behind me and see Spencer standing there. He walks in and sits in the chair next to mine.
"Mr. Kane how much of that did you hear" Hetty asks
"Just you saying that I should take time off. But that's not what I need. I don't know what I need but I do know that that's not it." He says
"Alright. Mr. Deeks go ahead with your plan. Then also go ahead with what I started with" Hetty says
"What" Spencer asks
"Mr. Deeks knows what I mean. Don't you" she asks
"Yes ma'am." I say
"Very good now hurry. And Mr. Deeks go ahead and take today off to hang with Mr. Kane and his band" Hetty says
"Ok" I say
We leave her office and go to the bullpen where everyone is.
"Oh Spencer, Joey called me saying he couldn't reach you and said that the video shoot is canceled and rescheduled for some other time but the concert is still tonight. The band is just going to be hanging out at the studio if you want to join them" Callen says
"Maybe" Spencer says
He sits at his desk and starts doing some paperwork. I go outside the building and call Nate.
N-hello this is Nate number 1 psychiatrist. How may I help you.
D-hey Nate. It's Marty Deeks can I ask a favor from you
N-sure what's up. Everyone ok
D-sort of. We have a new agent and he's going through a rough patch like I did and is wanting to quit and give up but I can tell that's not really what he wanted. I don't know if you could maybe talk to him and see if you could help him out
N-yeah sure. I'm actually in the area if now is an ok time
D-now is perfect
N-great see you in two
I hang up and exactly two minutes later he arrives. He gets out and comes over.
"Truth is I was already coming over to check in on all of you. Now should it just be me and him or me, you, and him" he asks
"I think he might talk more if I'm in there as well and I can add in some stuff since I've gone through the same stuff." I say
"Alright. Let's go inside" he says
We go in and to the bullpen. We get to the entrance and everyone is either on their phones, computers, doing paper work, or playing with their fingers (Spencer). Nate looks at me and I nod. He gives a high pitch whistle and everyone looks up.
"Nate. How are you" Kensi says standing up to hug him
"Good agent Blye. But stop trying to act not guilty. I know you are" he says
"Dang it." Kensi says
"Nate how've you been we haven't seen you since well I don't know since when" Callen says
"Callen you haven't seen me in forever cause you intentionally avoid me. You can never stay away for long Grisha. I always find them." Nate says
"That's not creepy at all" Anna say
"You must be Anna. The one who keeps Callen up at night" Nate says
"What" Ana and Callen ask
"What Callen you don't remember telling me about the blonde you always dream about and thinking about her getting killed and ruining your life forever? Oops... was I not suppose to say that" Nate smirks
"You know what you really know how to push people's buttons and it's not fair" Callen says
"You do the same thing G. And hello Nate. And no need to ask me how I'm doing cause I'm pretty sure you know. Those eyes of yours have like X-ray powers or something" Sam says
"Sure let's go with that Sam" Nate says
I laugh at Sams statement and then notice that Spencer is no longer at his desk. I go up to ops and see him sitting in there with Eric and Nell with Eric explaining computer stuff to him. It looks like he's really interested in it.
"Sorry to break up the party but Spencer I want to introduce you to the guy downstairs" I say
"Alright" Spencer says
He says bye to the computer ninjas and we go downstairs. The others are working and I spot Nate in Hetty's office. We go over there and stand outside of it until Nate comes out.
"Nate this is Spencer the newest member of our team and family. Spencer this Nate a former member of the team still part of the family" I say
"What do you do now" Spencer asks
"I'm a psychiatrist" Nate says
"Oh" Spencer says
"I just want to talk with you and have a normal conversation. Deeks will be in the room so it's not as stressful because he's been through the same thing and the same process" Nate says
"Ok" Spencer hesitantly answers
"Where do you want to talk at" Nate asks
"I don't know" Spencer says
"Where do you feel the most comfortable to talk at" I ask
"I don't know. Not here though. I was okay talking at my house. I was okay talking on the walk with Nell." Spence says
"Do you like dogs" Nate asks
Spencer smiles and nods.
"Great. Let's go to Deeks house and you can hang with the dog as we talk" Nate says
Spencer agrees and we go to Nate's vehicle and get in. Nate starts the car and drives to my place. Once we arrive we get out and go inside once I unlock the door. As soon as we get in Monty runs over to us. Spencer leans down and starts petting him. We go over to the living room and sit down.
"I heard that you want to quit" Nate says
"Yeah. Well maybe. I don't know." Spencer says
"Tell me why" Nate says
"I really should get going. I have to meet up with my band" Spencer says
"I'll drop you guys off. But first I want you to talk to me" Nate says
"Everything is happening all so quickly. The first day when I started my band mates were in trouble. We were held at gun point and the one almost got shot. Then very soon after Grisha and I went undercover and I got tortured. Now my aunt is dead and it's the same person that killed my uncle" Spencer says
"Do you feel like it's your fault. Like you caused all of this to happen" Nate asks
"Yes. Because I did. I know I did." Kane says
"No you didn't Spencer. We're glad you joined our team. Your bandmates are glad that you have the job you've wanted to do for so long. Your uncle and aunt are proud of you. We don't want you to leave. We all love you" I say
"Can we just stop talking about this" he asks
"It's 4. I told Caleb we'd be at the venue by 4:30" I say
"We" he asks
"I'm coming with. I wanna see one of your concerts" I say
"Oh ok. Well we better go" he says
We go to Nate's car and get in. He drops us off at ops and Spencer and I get in my car. I start the car and drive out. Spencer tells me how to get to the place. When we get there I park the car and we go in the backstage door. We get in there and a shoe comes flying toward my face. I reach up and grab.
"Who threw it" I ask
"That would be Chadwick" Joey says
"Oh Hey Spence" Someone says
"Deeks you know Joey but the other two are Chad and Caleb. Caleb is the short one and Chad is the tall one" Spencer says
"Hey" I say
"Guys his is Deeks he works with me. He was one of the guys who helped out with the chick fil a situation" Spencer says
"I recognize him" Caleb says
"Alright enough chit chat. We have sound check" Chad says
"Wow chad" Spencer says
"What" Chad asks
"You're being rude" Spencer says
"No" Chad says
"Yes" Spencer says
Chad glares at him and launches toward him. Spencer reacts and pins him in a second flat.
"I hate this. I can't win anymore" Chad whines
"Haha" Spencer says
I smile cause Spencer is finally acting like himself.
"Yo don't you guys have sound check or something" I ask
"Maybe" Joey says
"Yes" Caleb says
He grabs Spencer's ear and pulls him up. Chad then stands up and they get ready and go out on the stage. After they do a few things then sing some they come backstage.
"When does the concert start" I ask
"In about an hour. We're gonna head around the corner for a bite to eat. Want to join us" Caleb asks
"Sure" I say 
We leave the venue and go to the diner a couple buildings down. After dinner and the concert I help them all clean up then Spencer and I get back in my car.
"You know you didn't have to help" he says
"Oh well" I say
I start the car and drive to his house. Before he gets out I stop him.
"Hey Spence don't quit NCIS. We all love you being there. So if you're ever questioning why you should still be an agent or just need to talk call any of us. You have our numbers we want to help you" I say
"I appreciate that. I really do. But I'm still not sure if this is for me or not. Im still trying to figure it out." He says
He gets out and goes inside. I pull out of his driveway and go to ops. I unlock the door and go in. I get in there and Callen is asleep on the couch like I thought he would be. I quietly go past him and to the gym. I go to the locker room and change into shorts in a tank top. I put on some gloves and then go over to the punching bag and let it all out. Eventually the light turns on and I stop. I turn around and see Callen.
"Deeks it's 1 in the morning. What are you doing" he asks
"Letting off steam. I see Sam doing this and I wanted to see if it works. It sort of does." I say
"Why are you trying to let off steam" he asks
"I don't know. It's this whole Spencer thing I think. He's a great agent. I don't want to see him quitting just because of some small things that are getting way to personal for him" I say
"Deeks I know you want to help him because you don't want him to go through what you did but I think this is starting to effect you as well. He will either quit or come back. But no matter what he does we will always be there to back him up and support him. I don't want to see him leave just as much as you do. He's my partner. And I know Nell doesn't want him to leave cause she loves him. Now get changed and get some sleep. There's another couch here if you don't want to go home and sleep" he says
"Yeah" I say
I get changed and Callen and I go back out to the main area. We both claim a couch and lay down. Once I'm comfy I drift off to sleep.
