*Spencer POV*
I wake up the next morning to my alarm going off. I turn it off and look at the time. Ugh. It's only 6:30. I forgot to set it for studio days. Since I'm awake I get up and get ready for the day. I go downstairs and eat breakfast. Once I'm done eating I get in my car and drive to ops. I go inside to my desk and start working on my paperwork.
"Mr. Kane" I hear
I jump and turn around in my chair.
"Hetty you scared me" I say
"Well yes it seems as if I have that effect on people. Now what are you doing here" she asks
"I'm doing some paperwork. I'm just trying to make sure I don't fall behind" I say
"Well you are suppose to be out of work for a couple days which means no being here" she says
"Actually Hetty if you read the contract it says that if a worker is hurt in the fields he or she may be at work as long a they are not in the fields. I'm not in the fields. I'm just at my desk and I only came until I had to be in the studio with the guys cause they're never ready till around 10" I say
"Alright. I guess. But if I see you anywhere other than at your desk until you can return you will lose your job" she says
"Yes ma'am" I say
She walks away and I hear clapping. I turn around and see Callen.
"What do you want" I question
"Nice going putting Hetty in place" he says
"Ok. What are you doing" I ask
"Well my partner is out of commission so I'm stuck to paper work" he says
"You know Joey's still a little shaken up about the whole shooter thing. Maybe you can get Hetty to let you come join us at the office so he'll focus" I say
He nods and walks away. He comes back a bit later and gives me a thumbs up. I grab my backpack and he grabs his bag and we go out to my car.
"I'm driving" he says
"What" I say
"Yeah. I don't trust you driving with that shoulder" he says
I sigh but toss him my keys. We get in and he starts it. I tell him the address and he pulls out.
"Now what's the real reason you asked me to come" he asks
"What" I ask
"I know that's not the real reason why you wanted me to come" He says
"I wanted to get you away from the paperwork. I was saving you. Also I want to be able to protect my bandmates" I mumble the last part
We get to the studio and I'm about to get out but Callen reaches over and closes the door and locks it.
"Spencer I know after that incident you are worried about them but you don't have to. They'll be fine. It was that one incident. And you protected them. You were able to save them. That's all they ask of you. They don't ask you to always protect them or be their hero. They just want you to do your best and do what you love" Callen says
"Thank you" I say
He nods and we get out and go inside. We get there and the guys are sitting at their desks.
"Hey Spence" Chad says
"Hello Chadwick" I smirk
He glares at me and shakes his head.
"You guys remember Callen. Callen this is Chad, Caleb, and you remember Joey" I say
"Yes. It was an unfortunate way to meet yesterday" Caleb says
"Indeed it was" Callen says
"Hey Joey." I say
He doesn't respond. I go over to him and he's on the phone.
"Who is he on the phone with" I ask
"Jacqui" Chad says
(Jewel isn't in the story yet. She will be eventually)
He hangs up and there's no spark or jazz that's always on his face.
"You ok" I ask
"Uh yea" he says
"Come on Joey we're going to pick up lunch for everyone" I say
"It's only 10:30" Callen says
"We always eat around this time" Caleb says
Joey nods and follows me. We go to my car and we get in. I start the car and drive off.
"Aren't you suppose to have a sling on" he asks
"Eh" I say
"Spencer" he glares
"What" I ask
"Your shoulder isn't going to heal properly if you don't rest it" he says
"It's also not going to heal correctly if I baby it" I say
"Alright" he says
"What was Jacqui calling about" I ask
"Uh well she just got home yesterday from her parents and was watching the news. She already hates the fact that I was a part of the band but she said if I was happy she was fine with it. But when she found out about chick fil a and everything. She said I had to quit the band. I told her no. She said it was either her or the band and I chose the band" he says
"Oh. Ok. Well to be honest us three guys never really liked her. We thought she was arrogant but we never said anything because you liked her"  I say
"Oh" he says
"Yeah. However scratch that. The real reason I asked for you to come was cause I wanted to talk with you. I want to know the truth. Are you ok from yesterday" I ask
"I guess" he says
"Joey the truth" I say
"No. I felt like it was my fault. I still feel like it is." He says
"Why? Because in no way or mean is this your fault" I say
"Because if I didn't say anything and kept my mouth shut they wouldn't have  aimed the gun at me and you wouldn't have gotten hurt." He says
"Actually Joey I'm glad you spoke up. We all are. If you haven't spoken up there probably would've been a lot more hurt and some dead." I say
"What" he asks
"No one knows this but I had a hunch that they planned on killing us eventually or just shooting to inflict pain. You saved many lives" I say
"And you saved mine. We're practically equal" he says
"Ok sure. We'll put it that way" I say
We get to chick fil a and I just go through the drive thru. I pull up to the next window and I give the money.
"Aren't you Spencer Kane and Joey Stamper. You and your band practically saved the day yesterday" the guy says
"Yeah that's us" I say
"I'm the assistant manager. Thank you guys so much. You know what no need to pay. This meal is on us" he says
"Thank you" Joey says
"No thank you" the guy says
He gives me the money back and the food. We go back to the studio and go inside. I pass the food out then sit at my desk.
"Hey Spencer Hetty needs me to go do something but the whole team is planning on meeting up tonight at Deeks for a cook out. You up to joining" Callen asks
"I'd love to but I'm babysitting for Caleb and Kelsey" I say
"You go ahead Spencer. I can do it" Joey says
"You sure" I ask
"Positive" he says
"Ok. Then sure I'll come." I say
"Alright. Well I'll come pick you up here once I'm done cause you seriously shouldn't be driving with your shoulder. Anyway Sam is outside waiting for me" he says
Callen leaves and it's just us four. We get everything done and eventually I get a text from Callen saying he's out front. I grab my stuff, say bye to the guys and head out. I get in and he drives off.
"I've got a question for you" I say
"Yes" he asks
"What's going on between you and Anna?" I ask
"What do you mean" he asks
"Are you two dating. Because you seem pretty close to her" I say
"No we aren't. Because I still believe in the no dating a coworker." He says
"Well what does she say about that" I ask
"She doesn't like the rule" he says
"Well I say if you both love each other forget the rule and start dating. Love has no limitations" I say
"True very true. What about you? Do you have a girlfriend" Callen asks
"Me? No. It's either my jobs take up to much of my time or this job is too risky" I say
"Ok." Callen says
We get to a house and Callen parks his car. We get out and we go inside. We get in there and they look at us.
"Hey Callen and Spence" Kensi says
"Hey kens" I say
"Hello Kensi" Callen says
"Where's everyone else" I ask
"Deeks is outside. Hetty isn't here yet and Eric and Nell are maybe coming" Sam says
"So Callen you still on for that rematch in Beer pong" Kensi asks
"Definitely. What are the teams" Callen asks
"Me and Deeks vs you and Anna" Kensi says
"Where is Sam and Anna" I ask
"Oh they're also outback. They're making sure Deeks doesn't burn the food" Kensi says
"Yeah that's probably a good idea" Callen says
"Your computer ninjas have arrived" Eric announces
"Really Beale Computer ninjas? You couldn't think of something more interesting" Sam asks coming inside
Deeks and Anna are behind him carrying food.
"Did you burn the food this time" Nell asks
"It was only one time. Are you still holding it against me" Deeks asks
"Yes. Yes we are" Kensi says
"Alright whatever. Let's eat" Deeks says
"Mr. Deeks did you burn the food" we hear
We turn around and Hetty is standing there. She walks through and stands in front of Deeks.
"No. I did not. And come on. It was only one time. Eat the food and check it for yourself" Deeks says
"Alright." Hetty says
We get food then go outback and hang out.
"How is your band Mr. Kane" Hetty asks
"It's good. We have a concert tomorrow" I say
"Hey Hetty when is my partner allowed to come back to work" Callen asks
"When he passed the test to come back" Hetty says
"Spence before you go to the office come by headquarters and I'll have you take the test to come back in the fields" Callen says
"Wow Callen you seem desperate" Anna says
"Well I would like to have my partner back so I'm not just sitting around all day doing nothing" Callen says
"You could hang with us" Nell says
"I'll pass" Callen says
"That's a wonderful idea. Mr. Callen after you've given the test you will be in ops with Miss. jones and Mr. Beal." Hetty says
"Have fun G" Sam says
"Zip it" Callen says
"Who's ready for beer pong" Kensi says
"You and me baby" Deeks asks
"Totally. We're against Callen and Anna." Kensi says
"We gonna beat them" Deeks asks
"Obviously" Kensi says
"Let's do this" Deeks says
*Joey POV*
After work I go home and shower and change then head over to Caleb and Kelsey's. I knock on the door and then go in there. Caleb is no where to be seen but Kelsey is trying to hold Emmett, Calm him down and do other stuff all at the same time. I go over and take Emmett from her and start rocking him.
"Where's Caleb" I ask
"In his office" Kelsey says
I go to Caleb's office and go in.
"What are you working on" I ask
"Trying to figure out a work schedule and how to make sure that Spencer is there the days that he is needed." He says
"Well you might want to get ready for your date night with Kelsey." I say
"Ok" he says
He walks off and I set Emmett on the carpet, close the door, and sit in Caleb's seat. I look at the schedule and everything. I grab a piece of paper and a pencil and start writing stuff out. I hear the door open and see Caleb and Kelsey.
"Hey Joey we're heading out. We'll be back later tonight" Kelsey says
"Ok. Oh and Caleb I figured the schedule out. You just had to organize everything a bit" I say
"Ok. Thanks. I'll check it out tomorrow" Caleb says
They leave and then I get some of the baby food for Emmett and feed him. Once he's done I feed him a bottle and he falls asleep. I take him up to bed then go back down. I make myself some dinner then sit in the living room. I turn the tv on and decide to watch storks. After another movie Caleb and Kelsey get home. I stand up and turn the tv off.
"Thank you so much Joey" Kelsey says
"No problem. Emmett is always easy to take care of" I say
"I'll take a look at what you planned for the schedule" Caleb says
"Alright. Good night" I say
"Night" they say
I go out to my car and go home. I get home and head up to bed. I get in bed and fall asleep.
