Eli was flying through the air, screaming as his hair flew everywhere, the green vines around his wrists and ankles limited his movements. Eli looked up at the dragon's face, green smoke was coming out of the dragon's nostrils.

"Hey! Let me go!" Eli yelled.

The dragon looked down and rolled its big yellow eyes. The dragon brought Eli towards a brick tower with green vines covering it. there was no roof on the top along with no way to get up or down.

"Where are you taking me?" Eli asked, The dragon flew above the tower, and hovered over it, slowly making its way down, "Woah! Woah! Woah!"

The dragon dropped Eli on the ground and landed, Eli scooted away the best he could, which was not much. The dragon was sitting just staring at Eli, Eli got up against the wall as far from the dragon as he could.

"Are you okay?" the dragon asked.

Eli jumped back, he wasn't expecting the dragon to talk, he stared at the dragon as it suddenly started shrinking. It transformed into a human, the human/dragon was in a blue dress shirt with a brown blazer covering it along with brown pants, he had brown hair and yellow eyes.

"Alright, I know you're probably really confused." the man laughed, "Um but, I'm the good guy here, my name's Lou."

"E-Eli."

"Those vines look tight, here let me help." Lou said, he took out a pocket knife and Eli jumped back, "Woah hey, I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to cut those vines off."

Hearing those words Eli relaxed a little. Lou walked up to him and bent down, he cut the vines off. Eli rubbed his red wrists when Lou sat down in front of Eli.

"Thank you," Eli told him.

"Not at all," Lou replied, "pardon my asking but, why is your face bruised? Did Tinsel and nemiel do that to you?"

Eli shook his head, "No, kids at my school did it. you know them?"

"Everyone knows them, they're on the council, and their parents were once on the council as well but. . ."

"What are you?" Eli asked curiously.

"I'm half dragon half wizard, though I don't use my wizard powers that much," Lou answered.

Eli lifted his eyebrow, "why not?"

"Because I don't," Lou replied, "say, who was that girl you were with?"

It suddenly clicked in Eli's brain, he had forgotten about Lucy! Eli rose quickly but stumbled, Lou caught him and slowly put him on the ground.

"Are you okay?" Lou asked.

"You have to take me to the town hall!" Eli said frantically.

"Why?" Lou replied.

Eli struggled out of Lou's grip, "They have my friend! We-we have to go!"

"Look, kid, she's not going to the town hall, if your friend didn't get away, she's probably already dead," Lou said.

Eli fought more, "No! She's not, I know it."

"Kid, relax," Lou said.

"No! I have to, I have to get back to her."

"Will you stop it?" tinsel asked annoyed seeing Lucy struggle with the vines, "I'll have my sister put thorns on the vines."

"Is Eli dead?" Lucy questioned, she was looking at the ground as she walked in front of Tinsel with Nimiel behind her

"Better be." Tinsel grumbled, "Stupid dragons."

"Why are you doing this?" Lucy asked, "I get that we're not mythical creatures but all we want to do is get back home."

"There's a lot of things that you don't understand," Tinsel told her regretfully.

Lucy kept quiet and kept walking forward, they brought her through a grove of trees.

The grove's beautiful trees were all different types. Orange leaves, yellow, even blue, if Lucy wasn't about to die she would've been fine to stay in the grove for a while, maybe take out a book and read for a bit, but sadly, that could not be the case. The grove led the three to a cliff, looking over it, Lucy saw water along with jagged rocks.

"I'm really sorry about this Lucy." Nimiel replied, "But it's the rules, no humans are allowed on the island, and if found they are to be thrown off the cliff immediately."

"You don't have to tell them about this." Lucy told them, "Just tell them you did it, they won't know."

"Enough." tinsel said, he then rolled Lucy off the cliff.

After Eli had calmed down he was offered tea, which he kindly accepted. Lou had wrapped a blanket around Eli as his clothes were soaking wet from the bogs Eli walked through. Lou sat down in front of Eli and watched him.

"Are you sure they're going to kill Lucy?" Eli asked.

"I'm sorry kid," Lou replied, "the council doesn't like humans..."

"Is there any way to save her before it's too late?!" Eli interrupted.

"If they haven't thrown her off the cliff," Lou started, "we could get there before they do and grab her, but she's probably already gone."

"She's not." Eli said, "She's still alive."

"Listen, kid,"

"I know that she's alive!" Eli snapped, "Please, take me to the cliff. let me save my friend."

Lou sighed, "Alright," Lou started to change, dark red scales stuck out of his skin, his yellow eyes growing bigger, and green smoke spewing around him, when the smoke cleared it showed a huge dragon, "hop on."

Eli climbed on top of Lou and he took off. While Eli was flying with Lou he got a better look at the island. It was wonderful. Lou took Eli towards a cliff, he saw Nimiel and Tinsel talking to Lucy. Then they pushed her off the cliff.

"NO!" Eli yelled.

Lou swept down and grabbed Lucy right before she was going to hit the rocky bottom.

"Eli you're alive!" Lucy exclaimed, "And you're on a dragon!? What did I miss?!"

"A lot." Eli told her, "I'll update you later."

"Okay," Lucy replied.

Lou flew up landing on the cliff making both Tinsel and Nimiel jump back.

tinsel yelled, "You know the rules lou! You can't do this again!"

"Again?" Eli questioned.

"Shh, not now." Lou told him, Lou turned to Tinsel, "I don't follow the rules, and you two shouldn't either! If we all work together we might be able to defeat her!"

"We can't break the rules!" Nimiel exclaimed.

lou argued, "For all, we know they're are even the kids from the prophecy!"

Lucy turned to Eli and whispered, "Prophecy?"

Eli shrugged in response.

"We don't talk about the prophecy!" tinsel exploded, "now put them down."

"No." lou said, "I will not let you harm these kids."

"Why do you do this?" tinsel asked, "you've only done it twice before, with-"

"Don't talk about them!" lou interrupted, "you don't get to talk about them!"

"Why not?" tinsel said, he took a step forward, "Shouldn't your new "friends" know of them?"

"You know why!" lou yelled, "they don't need to know! And they shouldn't know!"

Tinsel smirked, he looked at Eli and Lucy, "Do you two really trust this dragon, this shapeshifter?!"

"More than you." Eli snarked

Tinsel growled at Eli and then glared at Lou, "You've already had two strikes, Lou, if you don't hand them over that'll make three. You know what happens at three."

Lou glared, "You're right. I do."

Lou flew away and Tinsel went to follow but Nimiel grabbed his arm.

"Tinsel no! Just let him. We'll get them back but now's not the time. It's almost sundown." Nimiel warned, "Come on."

Tinsel glanced at the cliff one last time but nodded, "Right. Let's go."

Tinsel and Nimiel ran away hurrying home before the sunset. Because when the sun sets, she comes out to choose.
