chapter eleven
With the torches being fully lit Eli put his flame out and tried to break down the bars. He realized it was worthless as the bars were too strong.
"I should've known," Eli muttered to himself.
"There's no way you could've known Eli." Lucy reminded him.
"No." Eli countered as he looked at Lucy, "After Fayetta put us to sleep I had a dream. . ."
Eli explained his dream to Lucy about how he saw Silver taking over the island, Tinsel's parents dying, and even the prophecy.
"He was there." Eli continued, "he heard the full prophecy, he didn't want us to know the second part because he was going to betray us."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Lucy asked, "I should've known."
Eli paused, "I-I didn't know if-"
"You thought I was going to betray you?!" Lucy exclaimed, Eli looked at her and her eyes looked shattered, "I'm your best friend Eli. I would never betray you."
Lucy looked at Eli in disbelief. Eli went to talk but Lucy stopped him.
"I can't believe you."
Lucy turned away from Eli and walked to the other side of the cage.
"Lucy, I'm sorry." Eli started, "I was scared. Everything was happening at once. I-I should've trusted you." Lucy ignored Eli so he kept talking, "I should've told you of my dream, it wasn't right of me. But we're still stuck and we need to get out."
"Wonderful speech." came a voice.
Eli and Lucy whipped around and saw Silver sitting on her throne.
"Hello." she greeted, "let me fully introduce myself, I am Silver the ruler of this island."
Eli glared at her, "We'll find a way to defeat you."
"Oh, a brave one I see." silver spoke, "you'll learn soon enough child that you won't defeat me. You won't ever leave this cage. I'd kill you right here and now, but where's the fun in that?"
Silver laughed and stood up then she exited the throne room.
Lucy let out a shiver, "I hate her."
Eli looked at Lucy, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay." Lucy told him, "How are we going to get out?"
"I don't know." Eli answered, "But we'll find a way."

Silver walked out of the throne room and saw Lou staring at her.
"What?" she asked innocently.
"I did what you asked." Lou said, "Now you have to do what you promised."
"Why?" Silver smirked, "If I do that, I have no control over you."
Silver walked away leaving Lou alone.

When Tinsel walked into the throne room Eli stood up immediately and glared at him.
"What do you want?" Eli questioned.
"I'm just here to guard you two." Tinsel answered, "Silver doesn't want you to escape."
"I still don't understand why you're doing this," Lucy said.
Tinsel looked at her.
"You hate Silver just as much as we do, if not more." Lucy started, "Why don't you help us defeat her? Why help her?"
"You think I want to hurt people?!" Tinsel exploded getting right up to the bars and staring at them, tears were starting to softly fall, "I don't want to do any of this, but I have to! I need to help Silver, I don't have a choice, no one does! If I don't help Silver I'll be snapped away. I can't leave Nimiel alone like my parents did. If my parents hadn't tried to fight back they'd still be here. We wouldn't be alone. If Lou had stopped them that night we wouldn't be alone. Im not helping Silver because I want to. I'm helping her because I have to. I can't leave Nimiel alone as my parents did. I hate my parents for the fact they left us."
Lucy and Eli didn't know what to say. Tinsel had realized he'd spoken too much. He wiped the tears and glared at them again.
"Forget that," he told them.
"Tinsel. . ." Lucy started.
Suddenly Lou came into the throne room and pulled Tinsel out of it harshly. Seconds later Grey stormed into the room pulling a still-paused Fayetta behind him which Lucy was surprised to see.
"Unpause her," Grey demanded.
"Why?" Lucy asked crossing her arms, "Can't Silver do it?"
"No, she can't." Grey replied, "Now unpause her."
"Why should I?" Lucy said, "Like this, she can't fight us or be injured. If anything this is protecting her."
Eli was surprised to hear Lucy talking like this, Lucy never liked hurting people unless necessary. This place was changing Lucy. . .
Grey's demeanor got colder, "unpause her. Now."
"No," Lucy replied.
"That's it." Grey grabbed Lucy's ripped black turtle neck and pulled her close to the bars, "Listen here-"
"Don't touch her!" Eli snapped, he pushed Grey away from Lucy and he fell to the floor, Eli turned to Lucy, "Unpause her. This isn't fair to her."
"But-" Lucy paused, "Fine."
Lucy unpaused Fayetta who fell to the ground. She stood up and glared at the kids.
"Sorry." Lucy apologized, "You weren't supposed to fall."
Fayetta helped Grey up and together they walked out.
"What is the whole point of them coming in here and then leaving seconds later?" Eli asked letting out a slight laugh.
"I don't know," Lucy answered returning the laugh.
A few minutes passed and Nimiel entered the room holding two trays filled with food and a purple liquid, Nimiel had changed out of her flora dress and was now wearing a shire green dress with vines across the bottom. She still had no shoes on but her long blue hair was now in two French braids held back by her pointy ears. Nimiel put the trays in front of the cage for them to grab.
"There's some food," Nimiel told them.
"Why should we eat it? It's probably poisoned." Eli remarked.
"It's not." Nimiel responded, "Silver wants to torture you, she can't do that if you're dead."
Nimiel walked out of the throne room.
"She has a point." Lucy pointed out.
Eli agreed and they ate the food. It was the best food they had ever eaten in a long time. Silver may be evil but she knows how to hire good chefs.

After Eli and Lucy had finished eating Nimiel came in, grabbed their trays, and left. Seconds later Lou entered and ignored the glares he was getting. He sat down in a chair and just stared at the door. After a long amount of awkward silence, Eli spoke to Lou.
"Why'd you do it?" he asked, "why'd you trick us? How long were you planning to betray us? Why didn't you tell us the full prophecy?"
Lou glanced at Eli but overall ignored him.
"Answer me!" Eli snapped.
Lou turned and faced Eli, "You wouldn't understand kid."
"Try me."
"No." Lou said, "You don't need to know. Now just stay quiet."
"No! I won't. You know why?!" Eli yelled, "Because I'm mad. I'm mad at you for betraying us. You lied to us! Said you were going to help us, but you were just helping yourself. You've been planning to betray us since the beginning weren't you? that's why you didn't tell us the second part of the prophecy. You made me and Lucy believe there was someone here we could trust. You are just as bad as silver."
Lou stood up so fast the chair flew backward. He grabbed Eli by his shirt and looked him straight in the eyes.
"Stop. talking." Lou ordered, "you have no clue what's going on."
Lou dropped Eli to the ground and stormed out of the throne room. Lucy bent down to Eli.
"Are you okay?" Lucy asked.
Eli nodded. Suddenly Lucy caught something glistening on the carpet a few feet away from them. . .
