"May.... Is that you?" I looked up at the owner of the voice. He had purple hair, a concern look on his face. Something about him felt familiar. My lips parted in a gasp as they began moving itself. "P- Pau..." I didn't know what I was about to say. My heart started beating faster, my head swirled, I felt like I might lose consciousness. Then I remembered he asked if I am ok. "Paulperfect! I mean- Pluperfect!" I spoke in flurried tone.

"M-more than perfect!-"My head began to ache. "AAHHH- I-I remember! I h-h-have to go! Byeee" I said as I dashed away, as far from him as I can. I could feel his eyes on me, scanning and observing my moves.

"Sorry for bumping into you pa-" I stopped myself.

P....Paul? Who..... Who was he? He was in my flashbacks.... He.... He must know about me! Who I was in the past. He called me May.... Is that my real name?

'Was that.... Really May?' Paul thought as he stared at the fading silhouette.

' If she is alive.... Then why didn't she tried to contact the royals?'

'Maybe she isn't May. I must be hallucinating.... Since when did I began hallucinating? Maybe its an illusion and I mistook some girl for Princess May.' He thought about informing Ash, but decided against it. Ash would definitely tell Drew. Drew shouldn't know of it. It would be too hard on him. And if Paul mistook someone for May, then it would bring false hope to Drew. He would lock himself in his room again. Afterall, Princess May died when Drew confessed his feelings. He never did get an answer. Besides, Paul felt that it won't do Drew any good to fall in love with a Princess. Princess are meant to marry Prince. Not Pirate. No kingdom would accept their beloved Princess marry a Pirate It will cause havoc in the region as well as the other regions. Whereas, Gary will take the topic too sensitively. He thought May as his sister, and would reunite the heaven and hell to find her if he found that there is a chance that she is alive. 'I have to get to the bottom of this before I inform anyone else.'

Paul headed towards the castle, feeling bitter.

'But if.... If May is alive then.. maybe this marriage can be stopped.' He shook his head. ' Princess Dawn has to marry Prince Barry. It's for her kingdom benefits. It won't do her any good to be married to a pathetic pirate like myself.' His bangs covered his eyes. There was less time left. There is no going back on something Paul spent hours wondering about.

'If May is alive... So are the other three girls.' He thought before taking out a pokeball. Light appeared and died giving birth to Honchkrow. Paul took out a paper and pen and started writing. He stopped, folded it and tied it to one of Honchkrow's leg. "To Hikari." Paul commanded. Honchkrow looked at Paul before flying to Blue Rose. Honchkrow at met Hikari before the war. To find Hikari, honchkrow had to remember her scent from her clothes, one pair of which were still back at the ship.

Paul looked at the time. He has to go back to the ship. Afterall, it has been 3 hours since he left the ship for getting some fresh air. A familiar voice reached his ears.He hummed and looked up. He realized that he was near the castle.Dawn was there, near the window with her mother, getting ready for today. He couldn't take his eyes of Dawn. Her hair flowed down her shoulder like a placid waterfall. Her smiles made Paul's heart explode into never-ending fireworks. The way her skin glowed in the sunshine. He remembered her laughter and her smiles. Her playful glares and severe tone. He still remembers the first time they met.

Paul was following Princess May and Princess Misty to a room. It was darkly lit. He scanned the room until his eyes fell upon a girl, same age as him. Her dark blue hair covered half of her face. She was tied to a chair, scared. Her dark blue eyes reflect terror. But the moment her eyes locked with Paul's, he felt something he never did before. Something inside him stirred. He wanted to protect her. His eyes soon noticed shirtless boy. As far as Princess May filled him in, Princess Dawn was kidnapped by someone in their staff. His eyes burned with anger as he, within a second, knocked Kenny.In the process, he might have accidentally scar him, Kenny was bleeding. Dawn was horrified when she saw the blood. But Paul bent down towards her, and untied her. He could feel Dawn staring at him, as if trying to read him. Their eyes lock once again. After a minute, they had to flee from there. Dawn had fainted when she saw Conway. So Paul had to carry her as the other two princesses flee. That was the time Paul realized that Dawn was wet and weak. He was furious imagining the treatment the staff members had probably given to her.

He still remembers the weird feeling in his stomach, as if it was a thousands butterflies that he felt when he was told to take care of Dawn.She had a high fever that time. He remembers sneaking in her room to check on her as well as her fever. He didn't quite liked to see Hikari and Dawn together, it seemed to bother him a bit. Paul didn't knew Hikari then, she was just someone who was taken on board along with Driya, cause they saw them 'kidnapping' Princess Dawn. But Dawn seemed comfortable around her.

He still remembers that he was the first one she was when she gained consciousness. It was hard on her, she wanted to scream but couldn't.

" Have water" Paul said as he immediately gave her a glass of water. She drank the water hastily.

"Thanks" she mumbles, looking down sighing. Paul was a bit disappointed because he didn't get to see her eyes. "hmph"

Dawn's eyes twitched, but didn't said a word. She wasn't able to see Paul. As her eyes and head were betraying her. He sat near her and checked the temperature. "102 F still have fever" he muttered. Dawn looked at him "Where am I? Who are you?" She then shivered fearfully seeing Paul looking her in the eye.

"In black rose, hn" he replied and stood up, leaving. He didn't want to see Dawn's face that might have been full of hatred. Black Rose, a very well known pirate ship. Known for Crooks.

"Ice cube" she muttered. Paul's heart fluttered in his chest. But he turned his eyes cold. He is a pirate

He remembers, before the crew members went berserk, Dawn was playfully glaring at him, laughing and asking why he doesn't says a word. She was trying to get his attention. He remembers how they danced together in Misty's Birthday. Paul was being awkward and Dawn found it cute, commented on it too and laughed. Her laugh was like music to his ears. He remembers the embarrassment he felt when Paul, Ash and Drew had makeup on. Dawn had convinced Paul to let him put on makeup. And he has no idea why he gave in to her whining. She was near to tears back then. Crocodile tears. He remembers how cute Dawn looked when they, for a bet, had thrown the Princess in the dungeon (it was a revenge for the makeup)

"How can you just stay in here!!!! I SWEAR WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON THOSE PIRATES I WONT LET THEM LIVE!!!!"Dawn yelled. The earlier shyness and anxiety of being in a new place vanished.

"Since when did you start to yell so loud huh princess Dawn?" Driya asked

"I was arguing with that ice cube! Just look at him! He is such an emotionless person!!" Dawn screamed. That Day, Paul had ignored Dawn the whole time. That made her mad at him.

Though when it was revealed that they did it for a bet, the girls called the boys a monster. Misty had hit Ash with her mallet, Drew got punched by May, And Paul got kicked in the shin. And then the girls flipped them. Dawn refused to help them get rid of their makeup. But something happened that day. There was a heavy storm. The waves were too gigantic.

"TROUBLESOME GET INSIDE" Paul had pulled Dawn close to him, his heart beating fast as the wooden planks fell on them.

Dawn had slight cuts on her forehead, luckily nothing happened to her. Paul was in a bad condition. His arm was fracture and his back had some cuts. He looked down. He knew what May meant to her. She was the one who could cheer Dawn up. Probably the only one who can.

Hey. Are you feeling better than yesterday?" May asked as she sat besides her.
" I guess I am..." Dawn trailed.
"Oh shush you'll be alright!"
"Hey May could I tell you something?"
"Yeah sure."

"Well you see, The Day I came here was the day I was freed. Paul here saved me, and he took care of me like I was someone really important. Though he can be a jerk sometimes. I think that maybe perhaps be has a soft spot for someone. I just don't know what to say *chuckles awkwardly* I really don't know about it May. I miss my Homeland and I want to get married but... I don't think now I want to get married With Barry. He is Nice and all but. I really don't know about it. I feel.....homesick. And not only that I'm-"

"Confused... Don't know how to fit anything in its right place. Confuse about what will happen next,Confuse about your feelings,Confused about your own kingdom, Your future." May spoke softly.

"Yeah... Well I talked with Hikari And felt better. She came to visit me at night though, she sure knows about Medicines."

" Well if she saw the library I don't know what will be her reaction."May giggled.

"Hn" They looked at Paul. Who didn't look back at them. He was feeling slight jealous that May could easily make Dawn laugh and smile while he couldn't.

Paul's heart felt heavy in his chest. The day May died, The way Dawn cried at that time. He couldn't bear it. He shook his head. No use in reviving those old memories that only bring sadness.

"Dawn..." he whispered softly.

'Does she still remember me? Is she happy?' Paul thought with a small smile. But the smile faltered. Dawn didn't contact him for whole five years. She doesn't care about anyone of them. She is a Princess and He is a Pirate. They were never meant to be together.

But if there is something Paul can do for her....

And if she is alive, then be it the last thing Paul does, he will do it.
