"Do you know my parents? You have to tell me I have a right to know, it was you that I remember leaning over me that was why when I first met you I recognised your smile, you took care me as well didn't you?" I stared at her hoping she would tell me something. Anything about my parents, that they weren't really bad, that they had a reason for leaving me.

"Yes I knew then, just before they walked away they asked me to get someone to take care of you, so I got Lachlan's mother but shortly afterwards she couldn't take care of you anymore so I tried but you just had no control of your powers so it effected me with being a controller. So I got some of my friends to take care of you. What I only found out recently was that they worked for the shadow keeper so I came back, but you were gone so I stayed waiting for you to come back because I knew you hadn't been taken we all would have felt that something bad had happened, then you came back and you now the rest." I stared at her hoping she was telling the truth, but I could trust her . . . At least I thought I could.

"Ok but why didn't you tell me this sooner?" I asked her.

"Because I didn't want you to get your hopes up." She hung her head down in despair.

"What would I have gotten my hopes I for?" I asked

"That your parents would return, I mean they love you very much but wether or not their still alive is the question."

"How could they be dead aren't they both mutants?" I asked Krystal.

"Well yes, I mean no, I mean they were." Stared at her and she knew instantly that I didn't know what she meant.

"I mean that they did have powers but they lost them, and now their just human beings having experienced power." I stared at her and then spoke.

"That would be horrible, having power and then losing it." I said to her.

"Well only they could tell you that because they are the only people who have lost their powers before, at least the only ones that have gotten their power taken away from them." She said to me.

"But how and why? Was it the shadow keeper that took it away from them?"

"Yes it was him."

"Did he do it to get at me? I mean because their my parents." I asked Krystal.

"I don't know, I don't think he even knows that you exist yet, I hope he doesn't find out until you have at least mastered a couple more elements because then you'll have a chance to get away from him." I looked at her, I could tell that she had been paranoids for days now ever since I had that dream about Jackie attacking me but I don't understand why, because she didn't even know that I was the elementor. Unless Krystal thought that one of us was with the Shadow keeper and that would mean that it would have to be Snowdrop, Lachlan, or it could even be Krystal. I looked at her and she looked at me. Or maybe I could be the one giving them information without even realising because I have a mind reading device in my head that they are connected to.

"Yes frank." I said.

"Mrs everglades what does it mean if you have a mind reading device in your head?"

"It's kind of like how Emerald and Krystal can go into each others and other peoples minds but it's say, a computer instead of their powers." I replied, but it was quit difficult explain it to a 6 or 7 year old what a mind reading device is, again least at an understanding of their level.

"But how would a computer fit into her brain?" He asked

"Well I said it would be 'like' a computer not exactly the same, and one thing different would be that it is smaller." I stared at him.

"Oh, sorry for interrupting mrs Everglades." He said looking like he was about to cry.

"That's ok Franky. Would you like me to continue the story now?"

"Yes." All the children said in complete harmony.

I suddenly felt like I wanted to ask her what I originally came for, "Krystal, is it possible for me to slightly control a power even when I haven't learnt it?"

"I don't know what you mean?"

"Well you see," I quickly tried to think of a reason that I could hold the air. "You see when we were trying to get to you Lachlan used gusts of air and as one went past me I caught a bit of it and it stayed in my hand for a while."

"Oh, well yes that is completely understandable, you see you have the potential to control it you just can't stabilise it yet, so if Lachlan had already stabilised it you should be able to hold it."

"Oh thank you."

I had to stop talking as I heard a knock at the door"Just let me get this." I said to the kids, I got up off my chair and tried not to step on the twenty or so kids that were sitting on the ground, I finally got to the door and opened it.

"Hello Mrs Everglades I'm here to pick up Jackson."

"Oh hello Janet I'll go and get him." I walked back to the kids.

"Sorry but well have to end the story for today, Jackson your mums waiting for you." They all said goodbye to Jackson before they sat back down waiting for what we could do.

"How about you go outside on the playground until your parents come." Everyone ran outside and I walked into the office.

"Why are they always so interested in that story? every year I tell it." I sighed

"Yes, but not one child has realised what you are trying to say." I heard someone say.

"Oh, hey Melody how are you?"

"I'm fine thank you, I can see your busy with the children."

"Yes, but they are very good, just like your kids were when they were young." We were both quiet, as I was thinking about scarlet.

"Don't tell me you have gotten connect to one already."

"Sadly yes, her name is scarlet quite an ironic name considering she has blood red streaks in her hair and is wearing completely red." I laughed.

"Hey you used to wear all green, you even have green streaks through your hair."

"Yes but the streaks are natural, i don't know how, but I never dyed my hair."

"Ok you win that one but you don't know that she dyed her hair." Melody smiled at me as I looked towards the filing cabinet.

"Do you want to look at her files with me, see what she can do."

"Would I ever." We walked over to the files and looked through them.

"She's not in here." Said Melody

"But that can't be." I turned around and started to walk to another filing cabinet.

"What wrong? What's in this cabinet?" Asked Melody.

"The restricted files." I said to her with my voice shaky.

"What's in the restricted files?" She asked.

"The information on the children that have power that is very hard to control."

'I just hope she isn't that different.' I thought as I started to feel sick. I first came to a draw where I grabbed a key, then walked over to the cabinet put the key in . . . But I paused for a moment then turned the key. I heard a click as the cabinet popped open and I pulled it slowly. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath only one file was in their I grabbed and opened it.
