We walked inside and before long some other kids had arrived, after we were certain most of them had arrived for the day, we decided to break the news.

"Everyone, scarlet here has figured out our little secret and we would now like to make her welcome." Everyone ran over to her and introduced themselves to her but she wasn't quite sure about how to react and I could see she was freaking out, so I told everyone to sit down, and thankfully they did. "Scarlet, what would you like to do first?"

"What do you mean?"'

"Oh I forgot to tell you, once someone has figured out what this daycare really is they get to choose what we do for the whole day, and so you get to choose what we do."

"Oh well, I guess we could continue with that story it is quite interesting."

"Ok story it is then, were was I . . ."

'So Lachlan must have known that I could at least hold air but how do I call him with it now.'

"Is their anything else you would like to ask me?" I was snapped out of my thoughts.

"Oh um, n no that's it thank you." I ran back up to my room, so then I am able to hold this because I am the elementor, but does that mean I am the only one able to activate it as well? Can I put it down or will it just disappear if I do? Well there's only one way to find out. I placed the ball onto my bedside table and . . . It just stayed there didn't even move around but was floating just above the table.

"Oh man, all this is so weird, what am I supposed to do now,"

'Well I guess I should just leave it alone but keep it on me, I mean he did say that I would just know how to use it when I need to, and I don't so I obliviously not need to use it, I don't have a reason to anyway.'

I started to walk down the stairs. "Emerald get back to that room now and practice trying to use earth or improve your metal powers." I heard Krystal shout out.

"Why, what are you doing down their? And besides I can't practice earth, you haven't taught me anything." I said smartly at her.

"Just imagine you are the earth and it will come to you now get back up to your room."

If she actually thought I was going to listen to her she was dreaming, I started to run down the stairs to get to her quicker, but she obliviously didn't think I would listen to her anyway because she had sealed anyway for me to get past with thick plants, and then Snowdrop had frozen them so that I couldn't even cut through them.

"Why are you guys so mean?" I asked well making myself start to cry.

"Oh come on Krystal this is mean." Said Snowdrop.

"Hey listen to the tone of the voice and then tell me I am being mean." Said Krystal and Snowdrop did listen.

"Hey she's faking it, oh you already knew that that's why you didn't fall for it did you?" Snowdrop blushed in embarrassment for not noticing it as well.

"What are we going to do then?" Asked Snowdrop.

"Leave her fake cry and then when we are done let her down." Said Krystal.

"Oh yeh I guess that makes sense."

'What are they doing down their.' I thought, I tried to peak around the frozen plants again but it was no use, they made sure that I couldn't see what they were doing no matter what angle I was at.

"This sucks."I said out loud.

"It sure does why don't you just go back to your room so we don't have to worry about you trying to see what were doing, and then you don't have to fake cry either." I heard Krystal say, I was about to scream how she knew that I was fake crying but it wouldn't have been any use, she probably just heard that giggle I let out.

"Yes Andy." I said.

"Miss can we go outside and play now?" He asked

"Scarlet?" I look at scarlet as if do you want to.

"Yes why not, I think that's enough story for today." She replayed with a smile.

"Ok then everyone lets yo outside now." I said but most of the kids were already running out the door. Then Louis walked up to me.

"Mrs Everglades, what exactly am I supposed to do to help scarlet use her powers?" He asked.

"Oh well she doesn't know how to control her powers and apparently they can kill or injure someone, so if someone does get hurt I would like you to heal them, it would give you some good practice as well." I smiled at him as all three of us walked out the door.

"Ok then scarlet show us what you got." I said

"Maybe We shouldn't do this." Scarlet said slowly creeping back inside.

"No come on scarlet just take the gloves off, that's the first step." I smiled at her. She slowly reached down to pulled her gloves off she grabbed at the finger tips and tugged then pull edge the whole glove off. She walked over to a tree and touched it, it just fell to the ground and shrivelled up, until only dust was left, then as a gush of wind came the small partials of the tree drifted off in a dance swirling around each other until they grew out of sight.

"Oh I am so sorry, i just realised that no one would be able to put that back their, I am so sorry." She put her head in her hands.

"Don't worry honey remember we are all mutants here." I said then walked over to where the tree used to be and with a swift upwards movement of my hand the tree started to grow back, but then some red flowers started to grow in the tree.

"A new tree was dew there anyway that one was starting to bore me." Her and all the other kids stared at me as if I was a monster.

"Hey just because you have never seen me use my powers doesn't mean I'm not a mutant as well." I smiled at them.

"So then Scarlet why don't you show us your, what was it again, oh that's right your light power."I said to her.

"But I don't know how to control it remember, what if I hurt someone." She looked at me worriedly.

"We have Louis remember." I smiled at her comfortingly.

"But what if he gets hurt? What then?" She asked.

"If that happens we will deal with it but I promise you no one will be leaving here injured because of you, ok."

"Ok." She sighed as she pulled her other glove off. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes suddenly she was lit up you could hardly look at her unless you wanted your eyes to burn. She floated off the ground but the light around her never went away it was as if the light was what was holding her up and it almost seemed like a shield, I suddenly heard a scream and remembered that one of the children's weakness was light and they were loosing control.

"Scarlet, scarlet stop." I screamed at her.

"I . . . I can't it won't go down I . . . It won't go away, Mrs Everglades what do I do?"

"Just relax think that you are on the ground, imagine you aren't using your powers."

"It's not working, I am so sorry this is all my fault.

"No it's not and well be ok. Kcaj laeh dna srewop reh nwod tuhs." Suddenly scarlet was standing on the ground again and jack wasn't screaming anymore.

"W . . . What did you do?" Scarlet asked me.

"I just cast a spell to shut down your powers and to heal jack."

"But how? How do you hold that kind of magic, it's amassing and I thought that only a few people can have that power, only two known people in the world, and I am pretty sure that their names are Dax Magic, and Emerald Wilson, No one by the name of something Everglades."

"Well the books don't always tell the truth." I laughed again the fact that they still had my old name in the book, but then again I was glad because that meant that no knew could trace me to the daycare or to my home.

"But this was a very accurate book, it was written by the military, from military files." She said, I flinched at the word military, but I don't think anyone noticed.

"Ok then but how old was the book." I asked her, and i knew that she would get stumped on it.

"Um . . . I can't remember but I think that is was around about 2021."

"Well than that answers your question, i was still a child when that was written. And it is possible that a lot more people can use magic now as well." I smiled at her.

"Right, I should probably check my facts before accusing you, like that again, I am sorry Mrs Everglades, I guess that I just wanted you to have something wrong with you as well." She said.

"That's ok, can you not light up like that when you don't wear your gloves or does it sometimes just happen?" I asked her

"No I can control it that much."

"Ok then I am going to take the spell of you, but just make sure you don't use light when jack is around, ok."

"You mean I can still use my powers hear, after that?" She asked stunned.

"Yes of course you can, why wouldn't we let you?" Butted in Louis.

"Yeh it's only a mistake, we all make them." Said Daniel. Suddenly all the children agreed that she shouldn't wear her gloves but just be careful with her light around jack.

"Well jack are you right with her not wearing her gloves as long as she doesn't use her light around you?" I ask him

"Of course I don't have a problem with it at all, I mean it's not her fault she can't control her powers properly, and i am sure all of us have to admit that we have lost control of our powers a least once." Everyone agreed.

"Yes Scarlet, and if it happens again we can all stop or fix it like we did just then." I said.

"But what if it happens when you guys aren't around?" She asked.

"Well you said so yourself that your mother wouldn't let you take off the gloves around her, so sadly when your not around us at daycare you have to wear the gloves." I think she was almost glad that her mother forced her to wear her gloves, but again the same time wished her mother was more like us. She just didn't want to hurt anyone and has grown up thinking that the only way to do that is to wear those gloves.

"Why would anyone do that to a child?" I accidentally said out loud.

"What was that Mrs Everglades?" Asked scarlet.

"On um do you think that your mother and I could talk when you get picked up?" I asked her.

"I guess so but Ruth might not want to talk to you." She replied but she was telling the truth I could tell.

"Well she can't deny me and if she does she'll get one hell of a shock." I smiled, and everyone laughed knowing that I meant that I would scare her with my powers.

"So then Scarlet, what would you like to do now?" I asked her, I mean she was still the new one and this was her first day knowing that we were all like her so she gets to choose what we do. That's just how we roll.

"Well I guess that we should go inside and you could tell us some more of that story, it is really quite interesting."

"I can imagine that it would have been a big clue that we weren't an ordinary daycare."

"Well let me see an ordinary daycare telling a story about some mutants going against the military when the world is almost completely against mutants and the world is run by the military, no this sounds like a completely normal daycare." Everyone started to laugh at Scarlets joke even her, and I had to admit that was the first time I had seen her smile and I was extremely happy to have experienced that I can imagine she doesn't smile a lot at home, it's almost as if she used to have a frown plastered on her face, but when she came here we pulled it off.
