Drew had a small crush on the music club president, but there was no way he would admit it. Cause why on earth would he even acknowledge feeling anything for anyone? Why would he admit to having affection for Hailey Austin? It was because he didn't want Liam and Henry, two of his buddies, to make fun of him.

He was a toxic person, in Hailey's opinion, and an outright jerk. But who has the power to correct her? What a jerk this guy was! Her love of music was ridiculed by him! She was labeled a freak! How is it feasible for her to like him?

That was on his mind since he was aware of the real reason she strongly opposed him. If he were to be treated that way, he would also despise himself.

Drew was looking for Henry and Liam after classes ended and were now wandering the hallways. However, however neither the lettuce boy nor the vampire boy was visible. Drew sighed and proceeded on his way. While walking, he suddenly heard a voice. He was searching for the source of this voice and its bearer. He was flabbergasted when he did. There wasn't much doubt that it originated from the music room, but it was the voice that impacted him.

He peeks in and recognizes the voice's owner. The owner had turquoise hair pulled back into a ponytail and black diamond-like eyes. In addition to faded navy-blue jean shorts, black leggings, and brown boots, they were dressed in a dark pink jacket with rolled-up sleeves over a white blouse with a pink heart emblazoned on it. It's true that Hailey had the voice of an angel that Drew was hearing.

Despite being at a loss for words and action, Drew fled quickly so that she wouldn't catch him. Little did he realize that while he was seen, Hailey was not the one who noticed him.

He was gazing into the club, and Liam and Henry were both startled to see him doing so. He blushed, but why? After recently breaking up with Zoey, he fell in love with the mysterious singing voice. The only person in the room, who was currently writing tunes in her music notebook, was Hailey. They pass by it and notice her alone.

Liam and Henry both expressed unmistakable amazement at the same time. Drew felt an attraction to her. Hailey?  After everything, he subjected them to in terms of harassment, abuse, and harm?

Liam and Henry were prepared to humiliate their friend at lunch the following day. And oh did they succeed in doing that. They began to hum a melody out of the blue. "Could you two please stop? That really gets on my nerves "says Drew. "Oh, why do you want us to stop? Yesterday after school, you seemed to enjoy Hailey's singing, "With his hazy lime-green eyes, Henry sneered.

The color of strawberry rose on Drew's face. He was noticed, what? He sort of yelled, doubtfully, "You saw me yesterday?" They nodded in unison. He mutters something while keeping his face concealed beneath his black hoodie. He realized that his face and ears were both pinkish-red at this point. He was humiliated because two of his buddies had witnessed him listening to Hailey sing.

The rest of the day managed to pass without a problem. Drew was back on his own after classes, humming the same song Hailey had just sung as he wandered through the hallways. He couldn't get the thought of Hailey out of his mind, and the event of the day prior remained with him.

His old friend Jake Sterling asked him, "Drew, dude, what's up with the humming?" He jumped and turned red, saying it was none of his concern why he was humming. Jake interrupted him mid-sentence and grinned at him, "Ok...but that sounded like a song that Hailey composed no-oh." He questioned, "What?" "You're in love with Hailey, aren't you," he said. Drew started shooing Jake away since he didn't think his face could get any redder, but it did. Jake started to chuckle because he couldn't believe his old best friend was now in love with his new best friend! "No way, man! That is just unbelievable! But if I were you and in love with her, I would proceed with caution "He said.

Jake gestured towards Luke and Zander as Drew attempted to comprehend what Jake was conveying. Drew grasped Jake's reasoning as soon as he expressed it to him. Zander, in addition to being Hailey's stepbrother, along with his boyfriend Luke, who Hailey sees as her other brother. In that mindset, they are both zealous about protecting Hailey. Drew nodded, frightened of what Zander and Luke could possibly do to him if they detected his feelings for her.

He just had to keep his feelings quiet. But for how long could he keep them to himself?  And how long would it take for the club to notice that he likes her? 

Not too long actually. 

Drew made it a part of his routine to see if he could hear Hailey's voice. Was it weird? Definitely. But Drew was going to do whatever it took just to hear the voice that he considered one of a kind. Why is it only now that he is hearing her voice? Was it cause he was a jerk in middle school and she got scared at the talent show? Maybe, no, definitely.

"What are you doing?" he heard a voice from behind him say, the voice was stern, with a hint of anger. He turned around and saw the one person he did not want to be caught listening to Hailey. It was Zander. 

Drew started to stutter and stammer, he was so embarrassed and scared. Of course, it had to be Zander to catch him watching Hailey, why could it not have been Milly or Sean?

"You watching my sister?!" he screamed. Covering Zander's mouth before Hailey heard him, Drew walked him away from the club room. This aggravated Zander. As soon as they were far away from the club room, Drew uncovered Zander's mouth and looked down.

"Yes, I was watching Hailey, but I was not doing it to record and make fun of her, none of that, I just wanted to hear her sing. I never knew she could sing so beautifully. I know this because I never got to talk to her except to bully her," he said. He went on and on, apologizing for everything, leaving Zander in shock. Who was this person and what did he do to the mean rich boy Drew? 

"Ok? Did you hit your head or something man, what changed your mind about all of us?" Zander asked, seeming irritated. He explained that it all started the day after Jake was first kicked out of the music club before being let back in, explaining that Jake got after him for being behind everything, knowing that this meant something to him, that they were not what they thought, and that he would not understand what it is like to lose something that is special to you. In shock, Zander did not think Jake would do something like that. But that was not what he should have been thinking about. 

"One chance."

"What?"

"You get one chance Drew, don't break her heart, or I break every bone in your body."

"O-ok."

Never did Drew think that Zander could scare him. But he did. 

The next day, before classes, Drew went to the club room before anyone else. He knew that Hailey would come in that morning. She did, and when she walked in, she was in shock to see Drew sitting at the table. "What do you want Drew?" she asked. Not saying anything at that point, Drew stands up and walks over. Hailey prepared herself to fight with him. He then grabbed her chin. "Nothing, sweetie, just came to say hi," He replied to her yelling. 

Hailey's face turned rose red and a million thoughts ran into her read. Why isn't he fighting with me? We're supposed to be fighting. Why did he call me sweetie? Drew let go of her face and walked out of the club room, leaving a flustered Hailey. 

One by one, the club members walk in. Milly arrives first, seeing Hailey's tomato state. Before she could say anything, in walked in Luke and Zander, hand in hand. They see how red Hailey is, but before they could ask what was wrong, Sean and Jake walk in, holding hands. That was as much of a jaw-dropper to the club as Hailey's flustered state was. Finally, one of the club members could ask her why she looked like a tomato. 

"Drew..." was all that Hailey could say. Zander and Jake looked at each other and nodded, however, it still left the others in confusion. "What do you mean by that Hailey? What did Drew do?" Milly asked. Hailey could not answer her, she was still in shock from what happened. Zander told them that Drew must have come inside and done something to make her in the state that she was in. 

Later in the day, Drew was walking with Henry and Liam when he heard screaming. This wasn't a normal scream, Drew recognized the voice of the scream. Hailey. He ran away from Henry and Liam to go find Hailey. 

When he found her, she was on the floor, looking all beaten up and in tears. Standing over her was Zoey, who was still kicking and hurting her. "Zoey?! What is wrong with you?" Drew asked. Zoey went on to whine about something about how Hailey stole him, she was an enchantress, and Drew was hers. Picking up Hailey, Drew said that she was no longer his girlfriend, they had broken up over 4 months ago, and she needed to get over it. 

Walking Hailey to the nurse, Drew could feel Hailey grab onto his black hoodie, pulling herself closer to him. It was causing Drew's heart to skip a few beats.

The next day, Drew walked through the halls and saw Zander smiling at him, waving him over. Confused, Drew walked over to Zander, scared almost, what if the smile was a fake one?

"Thanks for what you did yesterday."

"What?"

"Thank you for helping Hailey."

"No problem Zander."

They continued to talk when Hailey hugged Drew from behind. This caused Drew to freeze and his face grew a deep red. He then realized that his feelings for Hailey were not small feelings anymore. He fell for Hailey, hard.

He was hopelessly in love with her. But how would he tell her? He had no clue. What did she like? The only way to know any way to confess to her was to go to the ones who are the closest to her, the Music Club. What they told him seemed very reasonable.  

Walking down the hallways, Hailey hummed to herself, until she heard a voice, Drew's voice. She turned around and asked him if he needed something. He asked her if she wanted to hang out with him around 6, and that he will pick her up at her house. This came as a shock to Hailey, but she said yes to his invitation.

It was 6 o'clock and there was a knock at the Austin-Wickhams door. Shannon went to open it and sees Drew at the door holding a bouquet of pink chrysanthemums. Giggling, Shannon calls for Hailey, who then walks out wearing black jeans and a nice white shirt, with a pink flannel shirt tied to her waist, and her hair was put down, showing the waves of her hair. If Drew's face could get any redder, it would be as red as Milly's hair. Hailey giggles and walks over to him. He hands her the pink chrysanthemums, which are then given to Shannon to be put in a vase. 

Leaving her house, Drew tries to go for Hailey's hand and hold it. He was so nervous that he was shaking. That was noticeable to Hailey and she went and grabbed his hand. Drew looks at her in shock, only to receive back a sweet heartwarming smile. 

He decided to take Hailey to the new bubble tea place in town and then took her for a stroll in the park. While drinking her bubble tea, Hailey giggled a bit. "Whatcha giggling about Hailey?" Drew asked. "I just remembered something, when Zander and Luke got together, Jake, Sean, Milly and I hid behind a bush just to hear them confess!" she told him. "So  that is why Jake was dragged away by Milly!" Drew replied trying not to laugh super loud.  He could not help it and started to chuckle a bit. Hailey smiled and giggled. 

Hearing that giggle made Drew's heart skip a beat. God, to him, it was like her cuteness was teasing him. 

Later in the night, the two of them were sitting on a park bench. Drew knew right then and there that it was time for him to tell her. 

"Hailey..."

"Yeah?" 

"Can I tell you something?"

"Sure Drew, what's up?"

"Since the day I heard your singing voice for the very first time, I haven't been the same. My feelings just can't be tamed. I am starting to care for you in a different way. I think of you every day! I love everything about you! Your smile, your eyes, your hair, your voice--I hope you are getting the point. I can't get you off my mind. You have me feeling foolish. I know you may not feel the same, but my feelings just keep growing for you each and every day. Well, what I am trying to tell you is that I am falling in love with you--yes, this is true! But I'll understand it if you don't feel the same cause of what I have done to you in the past. I just have to let you know how I really feel. This is no whim; my feelings are real and genuine."

Hailey's face went into a state of shock. Did he just... confess to me? A million thoughts were running through Hailey's head. She then looked back at Drew, who was looking away. Is he tearing up? 

"Drew?"

"Hm?"

"Can you look at me please?"

As soon as he turned his head to face her, his lips were captured in a kiss. His eyes then widen in shock. It took him less than 5 seconds to kiss back. As soon as they pull away, Hailey begins to apologize for kissing him so quickly. He told her not to apologize, he was fine, he enjoyed it actually. Blushing like crazy, Hailey did not know what to do or say. Well, she couldn't do anything since Drew pulled her in for another kiss.

The next school day, most of the club was surprised to see Drew smiling and...holding Hailey's hand? They all asked a million questions and Hailey answered them as soon as Drew kissed her cheek and walked over to a very shocked Liam and Henry. 

Drew had done it.

He found someone who actually loved him.

And this someone...

had the voice of one of a kind.
