June 20th, 1981

Candice

Michelle was wrecking havoc all over Seattle. A car crash claimed the lives of 10 people. A house fire killing an entire family. She wasn't giving up and it was getting worse. Currently we had nothing to go on and I found Ryan working on a cure for Emberly.

"Do you want some help with that?" I asked him and he glanced at me.

"You know something about this?" He asked and I smiled.

"I've always enjoyed science I'd like to help you find a cure for her, if you'll let me?" I responded with a smile and Ryan nodded.

"Yeah sure I'd like some help." We set to work as I looked over the lab results and information he had aquired.

"Do you know what she accidently injected herself with?" I asked confused as to why I couldn't find this information.

"She doesn't remember, total blackout after she injected herself. Unfortunately this will be a lot harder..." He said quietly and Emberly came in to see us working together.

"Guys it's hopeless really there's no cure for this." She said quietly and I looked at her.

"There's always hope Emberly I know what it's like to be something you're not. We may be able to find out what you created have you heard of hypnosis?" I asked her and she chuckled.

"Yeah but that stuffs not real." She shook her head and I looked at her like she was dumb.

"After all you have seen and you think hypnosis is not real?" I asked her with a gentle laugh and she thought it through.

"I guess you are right we can try it." She said and I had her sit down and I sat across from her. I pulled out the locket I had the only thing I had left from Millie.

I dangled it in front of her eyes and let it swing back and forth. She followed it with her eyes. "Listen to the sound of my voice, I want you to go back, go back to January 11th 1981." Emberly was lost in the reflective gold on the locket swinging back and forth. "Where are you Emberly?" I asked her.

"I'm in my lab I'm making something." She said in a half-awake tone.

"Good and what are you making?" I asked her and she breathed heavily.

"I'm making something with this new drug called Krator, methane, silver, and bat blood..." I realized what went wrong besides her injecting herself and I dropped the necklace into my other hand and she suddenly snapped back.

"I know what you did wrong. You didn't test the bats blood for rabies. You have yourself a mixture of a dangerous drug and rabies... I'm not exactly sure how it all fits in and effects each other. But I should be able to figure it out." I got up and grabbed my coat and headed for the door. "I'll be back I'm gonna get what we need to recreate and study this." With that I left and for once I could see a glimmer of hope in Emberlys eyes.

Emberly had updated me about what Candice and Ryan had found. I went to meet Candice in the woods. I seen her looking around in a little cave. "Candice what are you doing?" I asked her and she jumped.

"Shhhh!" She said and put a finger to her lips. She lit a smoke bomb and threw it in the cave and a bunch of bats flew out. She then proceeded to tackle one of them and snap it's neck.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked her like she lost her god damn mind.

"I need bats blood infected by rabies to recreate Emberlys serum. Now what did you need?" She asked as she put it in a bag and headed back towards her car.

"I wanted to ask you something about something you said before..." I trailed off.

"Whats that?" She asked as she put the carcus in her trunk.

"You said Millie wasn't supposed to die why?" I asked her.

"It took a lot to convince Michelle that Millie should left. She said she could live as long as I played the you run away game. We did but Millie killed herself anyway, she wasn't supposed to die but she did." Candice sighed, "I'm sure Michelle planned it all along."

"I'm sorry Candice..." I said quietly and she shook her head and wiped tears away as she climbed in her car.

"I have to go..."
