Men. They think I hear nothing I am sure of it. They presume I am oblivious to all conversations and all events that happen around the security of our quaint little inn. I hear more than they think and I see more than they expect. I loved the idea of an adventure with both Hare and Will. It sounded ideal but scary all in once - it sounded fun and out of the ordinary. It sounded obscene but I had always fancied the idea of writing and I resented the fact that I could write the tale of our oncoming adventure had I not been a woman; god thoughts themselves were ludicrous but that made it appeal all the more. One day - one day I would write. Maybe.
On seeing the men leave the back room I saw an opportunity to confront them about their plans and shooed them back inside. The men and I had relatively equal standings within the inn, although not entirely, and so on my command they turned on their heels and disappeared back into the room. To London we would travel at midnight and both Will and Hare agreed when I said this. I then, as the mother I hoped to some day be, began listing what would need to be packed for the long journey ahead and then checking that they had both done as I had requested. Warmer clothes were to be packed along with some sandwiches, water containers and a small amount of money. Time turned quickly and before long the sun was setting on our time in Scotland; perhaps one day we would be back but for now it was goodbye. The inn would close and the clock of our London past would continue to tick through the days - depending on how many we all had left...
