27: The Game of Love & Betrayal
"I think the black one suits you better Jennie because red hair and black dress are definitely not a match," Irene said shoving a red knee dress on Jennie's chest. "Okay, I will go and try it out," Jennie said walking to the trial room. Currently, Jennie, Rose, and Irene were at King James Mall, shopping for dresses for the welcome party.
"Irene, I apologize," Rose said once Jennie walked into the trial room. "For what Chae?" Irene asked, scrunching her eyebrows. "We treated you so badly at one time, you seem so cool and fun," Rose replied, looking at her. Irene smiled, happily as she said, "Oh sweetie, that was like two personalities ago, it's all good now, We are good friends now, aren't we? So, try this silver dress,"
Rose looked at the silver dress, short, tight, but the fabric was comfortable, and she giggled when Irene said, "I am sure Jungkook would go ooh la la when he sees you in this,"
"Okay, I am gonna take this then, how about you try this blue one, your date will love it," Rose said picking up her silver dress and then pointing to a blue one which Irene immediately picked up. "What did I miss?" Jennie said, walking out in a black bodycon dress that she went to check out. Irene and Rose whistled at the sight as Jennie smiled, "Taehyung is gonna faint when he sees you, you look amazing," Irene said as Rose nodded at every single word.
-NEXT DAY: 7 PM, PARTY-
7 pm, SNHS, students walked into the loud and fun atmosphere aka the welcome party 2020. The minute you walk in, you can feel the cheerful shouts, the funky and rock music, and everything else you hear at a cool party. The eleven were probably not the biggest fan of parties after everything that had taken place earlier this year but it was such a refreshing and fun place.
"Did I told you that you look gorgeous?" Jungkook said as he and Chaeyoung made their way to the drinks, thank god the room was filled with colorful lights or he could have seen how her cheeks matched the shade of her hair. "Thank you," she muttered lightly as he passed her a glass.
As Jungkook and Chaeyoung talked, Lisa and Hoseok were already on the dance floor. "How come you asked me as a date?" Lisa whispered in his ear as the music was way too loud. "Why not?" Hoseok whispered back. Lisa made a small pout before continuing to move to the beats. How I wish I could tell you that I wanted this for long, but didn't realize that early Hoseok thought
"Babe, I don't like how these stupid boys are staring at you, you shouldn't have picked this dress," Jimin said pulling Soojin closer as she chuckled, "Wow, someone is possessive and jealous?"
"Of course I am, you know we should get matching tattoos so people come to know we belong to each other," Jimin said, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Mmm, that sounds good, let's get it next week," Soojin replied.
"How come you decided to be my date?" Namjoon asked Jisoo who was tensing up on the dance floor, it wasn't her best party, after all, there was this XOXO who was probably watching every step of hers, she didn't get to choose her date and her friends are having their best time, while she isn't able to enjoy the fullest. "Namjoon, I wanted to give you a chance, isn't it obvious?" Jisoo replied, sweetly, smiling as if it's true as Namjoon returned the smile.
While the others were inside, dancing happily, Yoongi and Soyeon sat on a staircase, talking with each other. Sharing their thoughts was probably the thing that kept couples together for a long time and so Yoongi and Soyeon tried to talk whenever they get the chance to. "I hate this song," Yoongi and Soyeon said at the same time dramatically, as they looked at each other and burst into laughter. "I miss this," Yoongi confessed, "I miss talking to you like this, I hope things just become fine soon," he continued as he pulled her closer, planting a small kiss on her forehead as she repeated, "I miss this too"
Taehyung and Jennie stared at the old-school photo booth at the perimeter of the school's backyard. Taehyung glanced at Jennie. "Wanna try it?"
Jennie nodded. Before they ducked inside, she quickly glanced around the party. Some kids were gathered around the keg and a lot of other people held their red plastic cups in the air as they danced.
Jennie sat beside Taehyung on the photo booth's little orange seat and closed the curtain. They were so squeezed together, their shoulders and thighs touched.
"Here." Taehyung handed her the Jack Daniel's bottle and hit the green start button. Jennie did a shot, then held it up triumphantly as the camera snapped the first picture. Then they squished their faces together and donned huge grins. Taehyung rolled his eyes back into his head, and Jennie puffed her cheeks out like a monkey for the third picture. Then the camera caught them looking seminormal, if maybe a bit nervous.
"Let's go see how they look," Jennie said.
But as she stood up, Taehyung grabbed her sleeve. "Can we stay in here a sec? I don't wanna go outside in that noisy place"
"Um, sure." Jennie sat back down. she swallowed loudly, without meaning to.
"So, how have you been?" Taehyung asked
Jennie sighed, trying to get comfy on the cramped seat. Jennie thought, Confused. Upset that my mom hates us as a couple. Kinda freaked that I'm sitting so close to you.
"I'm all right," she said finally.
Taehyung snorted and took a swig of whiskey. "I don't believe that for one second."
Jennie paused. Taehyung seemed like the only person who actually understood her. "Yeah, I guess not," she said.
"What's going on?" he asked
"Nothing much,"
Jennie's body shook. She buried her head in Taehyung's neck as she pressed herself to Taehyung's chest.
Jennie raised her head and met Taehyung's eyes. Then smiling a little sadly, she kissed Taehyung's lips. He blinked at her, surprised.
"Sometimes best friends do kiss," Jennie said. "See?"
They hung apart, nose practically touching nose. Outside, the crickets sawed away furiously.
Then Taehyung reached for her. Jennie melted into his lips. Their mouths were open and she felt Taehyung's tongue. Jennie's chest clenched up as she raked her hands through Taehyung's rough hair, then down to his shoulders, then his back. She felt his hand around his waist as she flowed into his touch. For a second she could feel his eyes on her as his tongue did wonders as she let out a whimper, the place and sensation getting hotter second by second. His free hand made its way to her thigh as she wondered why this didn't happen sooner.
Little did they know, the photos were being clicked still
Finally pulling away, they both stared at each other, never felt this good in a long time. They both heaving for breath, as Taehyung smiled, which seemed more like a smirk as he planted a small kiss on her cheek.
"Should we go now?" he asked as Jennie nodded, They climbed out of the booth completely. They both turned to get the pictures but they weren't there.
"Tae, where are the pictures," Jennie asked eyeing all the places as Taehyung did the same but they both looked at each other, they didn't hear anyone outside. No one definitely had the answer
Jin stared at the flower pot before moving out of the classroom, he felt bad that he betrayed his friends, but he didn't want to miss this chance.
Jin stared at Namjoon and Jisoo who were dancing together, happily. Jin could feel his blood boiling, he was holding the glass so tight that it could break anytime, and suddenly his phone buzzed
Jin didn't think twice before replying to the message, "What deal?" and as expected the reply came at the very minute
Jin sighed, he knew that he shouldn't betray his friends, XOXO shouldn't get the pictures but then he glanced at Namjoon and Jisoo. "Fuck it," he muttered before walking to get the pictures really quietly, making sure he made no noise, he glanced at the pictures, they were really kissing.
-CURRENT TIME-
As Jin walked back into the main room, his phone buzzed again
"I will get our drinks okay?" Namjoon asked Jisoo as they finally stopped dancing. Jisoo gave a nod as Namjoon walked away. Jisoo glanced around, finally spotting him. He looked handsome, she thought, and then her phone buzzed.
Jisoo looked at her screen in disbelief, she can't just play switch the sides all the time. Sure she had a tiny crush on Jin, but ditching Namjoon, her best friend is not something she will ever do. She continued to tense, thinking about it, but there wasn't time left, her phone buzzed again
She sighed, didn't have much of a choice. She mouthed a sorry as she looked in Namjoon's direction. She finally closed her phone as she walked to Jin who was definitely not shocked that she came after all XOXO sent her. "Jin, can we dance together?" Jisoo asked
"You have a date Jisoo," Jin said, hiding his sly grin behind that irritated face. "Consider that I am ditching him for you, come on," Jisoo said
