Evelyn had decided to stay in her room while her sister, Evan went for a walk. Evan calmly steps into a courtyard carrying a handful of books that she got for herself and her sister. A blast of thunder and lightning flashes making the dark haired girl jump, which caused her to drops half of the books she was carrying. Then a hand then grabs her, on instincts she drops the rest of the books and turns, throwing a punch hitting Rick. Rick let's her go and rubs his jaw where Evan had punched him.

"O'Connell, what are you still doing here?" Evan asked the brown haired man.

"We got problems." Rick said frantically completely forgetting that she punched him, then again it might have been revenge for calling her a contract or maybe for punching her brother.

Evan was about to say something but a barrage of hail and fire slams into the courtyard. Rick and Evan jump back, the brown haired male pulling the dark haired woman close to him. A water fountain bursts into steam. A wooden trellis catches fire. Rick and Evan run under the eaves as soldiers, servants and camels run in every direction, trying to avoid the maelstrom.

"He's here! I saw him! That thing is here!" Rick said panicking, Evan rolled her eyes and shrugged.

"Thanks for the information, when do you plan to leave? That way I can avoid you." Evan snapped at Rick making him glare at her.

"This is not the time!" Rick said panicking. Evan nodded slowly then a bloody curdling scream is heard coming from the living quarters directly above them. Rick and Evan race up the stairs.

Rick and Evan race into the room, past the servant who is running out screaming. They skid to a stop as they spot Burns, or what's left of him, lying dead on the floor, his body is shriveled to half it's size. Drained of all organs and liquids. Rick and Evan stare in shock. Then they hear a loud moan and notice the mummy standing on the far side of the room. Rick draws his gun, Evan took one of his other guns.

The mummy is regenerating, a thick skin forms over powerful new musculature. His tendons ripple. His bones bulge and reform. His mouth opens to an inhuman size as he moans and cries out, in severe pain. And then it's over. And he looks like an incredibly muscular, corpse-like vision from hell.

"We are in serious trouble." Rick said not looking away from the mummy.

"You think?" Evan asked sarcastically. The mummy started to walk towards them, looking directly at Evan.

"Hey! Back off, creep!" Evan yelled pointing the gun at the mummy. The mummy keeps coming. Rick and Evan open fire. Blasting the mummy, bullets rip through his body. The mummy doesn't seem to mind. Jonathan, Evelyn, Henderson and Daniels run into the room. They're all stunned at the sight of the mummy.

Rick steps forward, throws a right hook, punches The mummy in the face, his fist goes through the mummies skull and gets stuck deep inside his head. Rick stares at it, shocked, then quickly yanks his fist back out. The area of Imhotep's face that came into contact with Rick's fist quickly degenerates and decays, right down to the bone, as if Rick's hand instantly infected it.

The mummy angrily turns, grabs Rick, and with no effort, throws him across the room and into Jonathan and the others knocking them down. The mummy looks at his hand, the one that just grabbed Rick, it starts to shrivel and decay.

The mummy turns to Evan and walks closer to her, Evan holds up the gun that she took from Rick and shoots the mummy. The mummy angrily grabs the gun and throws it away from her. Evan looked shocked and kinda scared. Evan goes to throw a punch but the mummy grabs her fist.

"Abayomi, you saved me from the undead. For this, I shall make you immortal." The mummy said and went to kiss her, Evan moves her head to the side and sees Evelyn's cat. The white cat jumps on the piano and hisses. The mummy turns and his eyes land on Evelyn, "Anck-Su-Namun." He ignores the girl and suddenly the balcony doors blow open. The mummy spins into a blast of wind and sand and swirls out the doors, gone. Rick, Evelyn, Evan, Jonathan and Daniels stand transfixed. Henderson kneels next to Burns, shriveled body, horrified.

"The curse. The curse." Henderson said.

MUSEUM OF ANTIQUITIES

Rick, Jonathan, Henderson, Daniels and Evan followed Evelyn across the Ramesseum. Evelyn grabbed her sisters hand and gave it a squeeze.

"There's only one person I know who can possibly give us some answers." Evelyn said, they round a corner and come upon the Curator, who is talking with Ardeth Bay making everybody stop.

"YOU!" Everyone said loudly while Evelyn let out a dreamy sigh. Rick, Evan and the American's quickly draw their guns. Ardeth Bay just scowls. The Curator nods his head.

"Look I'm tired, confused, hungry and I need some alcohol in my system, therefore I won't start a fight." Evan said and put away the gun and took a seat.

"Miss Carnahan, Miss Carnahan. Gentlemen." The curator greeted.

"What is he doing here?" Evelyn asked surprised to see him here.

"Do you truly wish to know? Or would you prefer to just shoot us?" The curator asked eyeing their weapons. Everybody tenses, guns up. Then Rick uncocks his .38.

"I just saw my fist vanish into some guy's head." Rick slides his gun back into his shoulder-holster. "I'm willin, to go on a little faith, here." He picks Evan up, sits down and pulls her down on his lap.

"You will not believe it." The curator said, Evan rested her head against Rick's shoulder deciding to ignore the fact the he had said she was just a contract. Rick wrapped his arms around her waist and gave the curator a look.

"Try me." Rick challenged making Evan smile slightly.

"We are part of an ancient secret society, the cult-of-the-Mumia, and we have a sacred mission, passed down through thirty-nine generations. For over four thousand years we have guarded The City Of The Dead. we are sworn at manhood to do any and all in our power to stop the High Priest Imhotep from being reborn into this world." The curator explained.

"And because of you we have failed." Ardeth cut in annoyed. Evan raised her head slightly and raised an eyebrow at him.

"Well excuse me for not knowing that reading a book will bring back a terrifying mummy." Evan snapped and laid her head back down on Rick's shoulder.

"And you think this justifies killing innocent people!?" Evelyn added surprised, deep inside her heart she felt sad that Rick liked - no loved - her sister but she would get over it, well she counts on that.

"To stop this creature?" The curator asked and the he and Ardeth shared a look and turned back to Evelyn, "Yes." They said in synchronization.

Rick moved his hand slightly so now it rested on Evan's hip, he slightly rubbed it and said, "Okay, let's cut to the chase. He's afraid of cats, what's that about?" Evan slightly raised her head and looked a Rick.

"Yeah, what's that about?" Evan mimicked Rick making him raise an eyebrow at her.

"According to the ancients, cat's are the guardians at the gates of the underworld. Imhotep will fear them until he is fully regenerated, and then he will fear nothing." The curator explained.

"Right! And ya know how he gets fully regenerated?! By killing everybody who opened that chest and sucking us dry! That's how!" Daniels said frightened.

"Yes, the creature must first try and regenerate, and then he will attempt to resurrect the one he has loved for more than four thousand years." The curator said and Evan looked at the curator and raised her hand slightly.

"One question, who is Abayomi?" Evan asked making the curator and Ardeth go wide eyed.

"Abayomi, she was the Imhotep's wife, his love for her never died. She was the one who ordered to cursed him with the Hom-Dai." Evan's eyes widen and looked at him scared.

"Okay so that terrifying, obsessed mummy is back to either raise Abayomi or Anck-Su-Namun?" Evan asked but the curator shook his head.

"No he swore that if he were to ever be brought back from the dead he would bring back Abayomi to make her his queen once again. He'll bring Anck-Su-Namun to have revenge seeing as she was the reason he got condemned to the Hom-Dai." The curator explained and Evelyn along with Evan went wide eyed.

"In the necropolis, when I saw him, alive... walking, he called me Abayomi. And then in Mister Burns' quarters he tried to kiss me." Evan said making the curator nod.

"It is because it was you who read from the Book. He has chosen you to be the human sacrifice needed to regenerate the body of Abayomi. Also the fact that you look identical to her." The curator said and then Evelyn looked at her nervously.

"Back in Mister Burns' quarters when he saw me, he called me Anck-Su-Namun." Evelyn said and the curator nod.

"Seems like you will be the human sacrifice to bring back Anck-su-namun." The curator explained making Evelyn go wide eyed.

Jonathan scratches his ear with the barrel of his pistol, "This is not good. Not good at all." Jonathan said making Evan roll her eyes.

"Tonight is the full moon. The moon of Osiris. It will begin tonight." Ardeth said looking out a windown, everyone follows Ardeth's eyes, through the windows they see the sun, which is now going into a full eclipse.

"...and he stretched forth his hands towards the heavens, and there was darkness throughout the land of Egypt." Jonathan said.
