Evan had stayed behind with the mummy while the others went back to camp. Evan looked through the coffin and found some bugs.

"Holy Jesus, these are scarabs." Evan muttered to herself and looked at the mummy.

"What did you do? Killed the princesses? Did you kill the pharaoh?" Evan questioned the mummy and grabbed some of scarabs and walked back to camp.

As Evan walked back to her family and Rick she saw the Egyptologist trying to open a black book. Evan's eyes widen and the Egyptologist saw her looking at the book and he pulled it close to his body.

"You, uh, need a key to open that." Evan said and continue walking. The Americans were laughing. Evan walks up, and stands behind Beni who was in her seat.

"You're in her seat." Rick told the man and smiled. Beni thought he was joking so he laughed. "Now!" Beni jumped and sat besides Henderson. Evan sat down and opened her hands. There sat about five scarabs.

"Scarabs, flesh eaters, I found them inside our friend's coffin. They can stay alive for years living off the flesh of a corpse, or in this case..." Evan started she shrugs, then looks at the roasting meat. "Famished." Rick, Evelyn and Jonathan stare at the bug skeletons, disgusted.

"Are you saying somebody threw these things in with our guy, and they slowly ate him alive?" Rick asked as he picked one of the bugs up.

"Very, very slowly." Evan said scaring the Crap out of everyone except Evelyn.

"He certainly was not a popular fellow when they planted him." Jonathan said as he grabbed one and threw it at the fire making Evan turn to him and punched him hard.

"Must of got a little too frisky with the Pharaoh's daughter." Rick joked and Evelyn turned to him.

"Or his mistress." Evelyn added seriously. Evan nodded and looked up to see everyone looking at her.

"According to my readings, our friend suffered the Hom-Dai, the worst of all ancient Egyptian curses, one reserved for only the most evil blasphemers. In all of my research, I've never read of this curse actually having been performed." Evan said to everyone.

"That bad huh?" Rick said as he looked at Evan.

"Yes, they never used it because they feared it so. It's written, that if a victim of the Home-Dai should ever arise, he would bring with him the ten plagues of Egypt." Evelyn said making Rick turn to her and nod.

"The ten plagues?... You mean all ten plagues." Rick asked wanting to know.

"Like what that Moses guy did to that Pharaoh guy?" Beni asked and Evan nodded.

"That's one way of putting it." Evan told him nodding.

"Let's see, there was frogs, flies, locusts..."Jonathan started to list off.

"Hail and fire." Burns added to the list.

"The sun turning black."Henderson said.

"Water turning to blood." Daniels said.

"And my personal favorite, people covered in boils and sores." Jonathan finished. All the men share nervous looks, really spooked. Evelyn and Evan just laughs at them, Evan then pulls a meat stick out of the fire.

"Fried gizzard anyone?" Evan asked but nobody moved so she took a bite.

"Tastes horrible but then again we have no food." Evan muttered and continued to eat.

Having just freshened up for bed, Evan exits the temple and steps past the sleeping Diggers. She spots the Egyptologist, his jeweled canopic jar snug under one arm, the Book Of The Dead laying loose under the other. Evan stares at the Book, excitement in her eyes. She sneaks over, carefully steals it, and quickly tip-toes away. Lying on some blankets by the campfire, Rick rolls over and sees Evan, sitting wide-eyed, staring at the Book.

"That's called stealing." Rick said as he sits up and sits beside Evan.

"According to you and my brother it's called borrowing." Evan said and looked at Rick but turn back to the black book.

"You sure you outta be playin, around with that?" Rick asked Evan making the girl turn to him.

"It's just a book, no harm ever came from a book." Evan said and grabbed the box/key. "I hope." She opened the cover. The fire flickers. Rick gave her a nervous look, but Evan shrugs and starts reading.

"Ahm kum Ra. Ahm kum Dei." Evan said, her sister stirred in her sleep but didn't wake up. Evan continues reading the book aloud in Ancient Egyptian.

The Egyptologist sits bolt upright. Quickly looks around, sees Evan reading the Book. He gets up and runs for her.

"NO! NOOOO! YOU MUST NOT READ FROM THE BOOK!" The Egytoplogist yelled as he skids to a stop as a strange, piercing whine is heard, coming from out in the desert. Rick and the others all leap to their feet. The Americans run out of their tents.

"No harm came from reading a book huh?" Rick asked Evan sarcastically.

"This is not the time for your sarcasm, Rick!" Evan snapped and Rick raised his hands in surrender. The sound got louder and closer. And then from out of the darkness a huge wall of locusts swirls into camp and envelops everyone. Rick grabs Evan, with Evelyn and Jonathan at their side they race for the crevice, trying to fend off the horrid vermin as they go. Beni and the Americans run for the temple.

"You're never reading another book." Rick told Evan as they got to safety.

"Did you see that!? Grasshoppers! Billions of grasshoppers!" Jonathan said panicking.

"That's one of the plagues, right? The grasshopper plague!" Rick told Evan and Evelyn grabbed her sisters hand.

"This is not a plague. It's generational. Every so many years the locusts of Egypt have a population explosion and they all take flight." Evelyn said trying to defend her sister. Evan and Evelyn step forward and steps on something squishy. Rick lowers his torch the entire floor is filled with slimy frogs.

Rick looked at Evan who gave him a nervous smile, "uh coincidence?" Evan told Rick making him roll his eyes.

The ground under Rick, Evan, Evelyn and Jonathan starts to shake. Then suddenly, right in front of them, hundred of chattering scarabs beetles boil up out of the sand. The bugs start scurrying towards them. Evan screams, Jonathan screams, Evelyn jumps into Jonathan's arms. Rick almost screams. They turn around and haul ass.

Rick, Evan and Jonathan -who was still carrying Evelyn-  race up the staircase, just ahead of the mass of scurrying, chittering scarabs. Rick leaps out onto a pedestal, Jonathan jumps up next to him, Jonathan puts Evelyn down. Evan jumps up into a grotto on the other side of the narrow stairway. The horrible herd of vicious scarabs scurries between them, their ear-piercing chitters send shivers up Evan's spine, she leans back. The wall moves.

Evan falls backwards through an opening. Rick, Evelyn and Jonathan watch the scarabs vanish up the staircase. Then they look across the way, Evan is gone.

"Ev!?" Jonathan called out frantically.

SCARAB CHAMBER

Evan sits up, shakes the sand out of her hair, and looks around. It's almost pitch black. She gets up and feels her way along the dark walls. She rounds a corner. A shaft of moonlight filters in through a crack in the ceiling. A man stands in the middle of the room. Evan walks towards him.

"Oh thank goodness," Evan muttered and smiled, "hi uh sir. I got separated from my siblings and 'tour guide' can you help me?" Evan touches his shoulder and he turns around. It was Burns, both of his eyes were missing, he stares at her with vacant sockets. Evan screams in horror and backs away, hyperventilating, she bumps into something. She screams again and spins around It's the mummy. With two fresh eyeballs in his sockets.

Evan screams again and backs away into a wall. Her hair is down, her face is dirty and sweaty, her blouse is ripped, her dress is torn, she's never been more scared. The mummy squints.

"Abayomi?" The mummy asked in Ancient Egyptian. Evan shook her head and raised her hand.

"No, no, no, I'm not Abayomi." Evan stuttered.

LABYRINTH STAIRCASE

Rick is feeling his way around inside the grotto, "Damn-it! Must be a trap door around here or somethin'." Rick hissed.

"What could've Evan possibly done?" Evelyn asked scared, and then they hear men screaming, and suddenly, Henderson, Daniels and one of the Diggers come running down the stairs.

"RUN, YOU SONS-A-BITCHES! RUUUUN!" Henderson yelled as he ran. Rick, Evelyn and Jonathan join them as they hear the herd of chittering scarabs coming their way. The Digger suddenly trips and falls. Rick slows down, about to go back and help him. But it's too late. The Digger screams in horror as the herd of scarabs run over him, eating straight through him, leaving behind the Digger's half eaten skeleton. Daniels, Henderson, Evelyn and Jonathan react in horror. Rick already running, races right past them. The others turn and haul ass.

"I'm going to kill her." Evelyn muttered under her breath as she ran.

SCARAB CHAMBER

The mummy steps forward, the sand around him seems to magnetize, swirling and dancing around his flaking skeletal legs. Evan starts backing away, horrified, she looks at Burns.

"Run, run, get help!" Evan wanted to yell but it came out in a whisper. Never in her life has Evan been this scared, then again never in her life has she seen a mummy come back from the dead.

Burns opens his mouth, but can only gurgle and moan because his tongue is missing. The mummy grabs him, throws him to the ground and sets his skeletal foot on Burns' chest, like a big game hunter standing on his kill. The mummy then parts his fetid lips, a fresh tongue flaps between his rotten teeth.

"Jesus!" Evan gasped and stared wide eyed.

"Kadeesh pharos Abayomi." The mummy said and Evan shook her head.

"No! Bad mummy!" Evan said as if that was going to do anything. Suddenly, Rick comes flying around the corner and runs right up to her.

"Would you quit playin, around! Let's get outta here already!" Rick said and grabbed Evan's arm.

"M-m" The dark haired girl didn't continue because Rick turns and looks at what she was seeing. Rick jumps in fright.

"Whoa!" Rick yelled then they both start backing away down the wall. The mummy glides sideways with them, like a tiger cornering his prey, the sand around him swirls and dances. Burns starts to crawl away, whimpering as he goes. The mummy suddenly stops and unhinges his skeletal jaw, his skinless mouth stretches to an inhuman size, and he lets out a horrific, primordial shriek.

"Abayomi!" The mummy yelled. Evan screams, Rick shudders, then, embarrassed by his fear, he opens his own mouth and roars right back at him. Evan grabbed one of Rick's hand guns when he was distracted and hid it behind her. Then blasts him with the elephant gun. Through the smoke and flammage they can see the mummy is blown off his feet, his ribcage half torn away. Rick grabs Evan and runs.

"Wait! What about Burns!?" Evan yelled but Rick ignored her.

Sand and wind whip through the ruins as Rick and Evan stumble up out of the crevice and come face-to-face with ten armed Mumia. The Mumia quickly raise their guns. Rick and Evan - who was still holding Rick's gun - quickly raise their hands. Jonathan, Evelyn, Henderson, Daniels and the Egyptologist are already on their knees, hands over their heads. Evelyn looked at Ardeth he steps forward.

"I told you to leave or die, you refused, and now you may have killed us all. For you have unleashed the creature that we have feared for more than four thousand years." Ardeth said to Rick, Evan raised her hand slowly.

"According to my knowledge, it was I who read it so... why aren't you yelling at me?" Evan asked but she was ignored.

"Relax, I got him." Rick said and Evan nodded.

"No mortal weapons can kill this creature. He is not of this world." Ardeth snapped and glanced towards Evan. The leader of the Mumia stood shock.

"Queen Abayomi..." Ardeth muttered under his breath wide eyed.

"Are we talkin, about the same creature? The walking corpse? Really big mouth? Really bad breath?" Rick asked trying to get the man to stop looking at Evan like that. Just as Ardeth was about to answer several Mumia drag Burns up, he stares out with vacant sockets. Daniels and Henderson are especially horrified.

"You bastards!" Daniels hissed.

"What did you do to him!?" Henderson shouted at them. Evan stepped forward.

"It wasn't them!" Evan defended them making Rick jealous.

"We saved him! Saved him before the creature could finish his work. Now leave, all of you, quickly, before he finishes you all." Ardeth said. Evelyn glanced at her sister with fear in her eyes.

"You're not going to kill us?" Jonathan asked and Evelyn elbows him in the ribs.

"Unfortunately, we can't." Ardeth muttered under his breath.

"We must now hunt him down, and try and find a way to kill him, before he consumes the earth. Allah be with us." Ardeth said out loud and he along with the rest of the Mumia start heading down into the crevice.

Rick yells at them, trying to convince himself,"I told ya, I already got him!"

Ardeth stops and looks back, deadly serious, "Know this, the creature will be coming for you. He must consummate the curse. And until he does, he will never eat, he will never sleep, and he will never stop." Ardeth turns and jumps down into the crevice.

They all the make their way back to Cairo.

"Abayomi!!" They all heard as they left, never to see the mummy or the Mumia. Or will they?
