Chapter 64
"Hang on there, stop being babies."
Dream and Savannah both paused.
"Wait...Sawyer?" Savannah asked slowly.
"Savvie, what a surprise," Sawyer answered sarcastically.
Savannah scowled. "Do not call me Savvie."
"So we're in a potentially life threatening situation and you two are still arguing?" Dream snorted.
"Wait a moment," Sawyer told her. "I'm almost there."
"What exactly are you doing?" Savannah snapped.
"Breaking down this stupid wall to rescue you two?"
Dream and Savannah exchanged a glance. "What?"
"You two might need to move, I'm going to hit the wall again and I don't want to hit any of you. Well, I wouldn't mind hitting Savvie, but you know what I mean."
"For the last time," Savannah growled. "Do not--"
"Just move!" Sawyer grunted in irritation.
"Okay, okay."
"Axel, help me out," they heard Sawyer say.
"I can help too!"
"Is that Chloe?" Dream frowned.
"Yep!" Chloe said cheerfully. "Ready...Go!"
"Don't forget we still need to look for Zac," Savannah reminded them.
"Zac?" an unfamiliar voice asked. "Who's Zac?"
"Oh, some rando Savannah's dating," Chloe said nonchalantly.
Savannah turned to Dream. "I blame you for this. And hurry up!" she called at the wall.
A hand reached into the hole in the wall, grabbing it and pushing it forward. The wall went inward by half a foot, before sliding to the side.
"Oh my gosh!!" Dream stood up, running to Chloe, Sawyer, and Axel. "You guys are okay!"
Savannah followed her. "Yeah, but just one small problem. Where are Francesca and Fatima? And Zac?"
"I'm not sure who your friend Zac is, but I know where the twins are."
Dream and Savannah turned to the unfamiliar woman standing behind their friends. "Wait a moment," Dream frowned. "I've seen you before." She stopped. "I mean, I think I have. I don't know anymore. Have I?"
The woman turned to Dream. "Yes."
"At the hospital, I think, when Savannah and I first found Lili, right?" Dream began. "And...and in France, during the court case. And on New Year's Eve, when I was in the hospital!" Dream stared at Liv. "What is going on?"
"From the beginning, I knew there was something going on with Mrs. Woods," Liv began. "I was in the hospital the night you and Savannah found Lili because Calum broke his arm. But I overheard your conversation, and from there, I..." she paused. "There is no way to not make this sound creepy, is it. I've been, well, watching you."
"So you've been stalking me?" Dream raised an eyebrow.
"Not exactly. But since we are on the same case, it's natural that we run into each other often."
"Okay..." Dream stammered, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.
There was a brief moment of silence, before Savannah interrupted. "Look, Dream, I know this is a really complicated situation, but Zac is missing. We need to find him!"
Dream sighed. "You're right. Liv, you said that you knew where Francesca and Fatima were. We need to find them first, and hopefully they know more about what is going on."
Liv nodded. "On it. Follow me." She began walking down the narrow hallway, before stopping and turning around. "Wait. We can't just go in like this."
"What do you mean?" Axel asked.
"There is a chance that Mrs. Woods is here. I tied Sinclair up in a room in the basement, so I think that will buy us some time, but Mrs. Woods has other minions like Sinclair. We need a plan to trap them somehow."
Dream bit her lip, not knowing what to do.
"Wait, did you say trap them?" Sawyer piped up. Liv nodded.
"In that case, I think I have an idea. I just need to know exactly where Mrs. Woods and her minions might be."
