Dream turned around to face a wide-eyed Zac. "Zac!" she said, gasping. "What are you doing here?"

Zac looked rather scared. "I have no idea. You went to detention, and I went to the gym to meet up with the anonymous note writer. I got there, a very tall hooded man beat me up, I fell unconscious, and--"

"You woke up here, didn't you?" Dream said.

"Yeah, all tied up, and an unknown person freed me. I was going to look who it was, but that person ran away before I took off my blindfold."

"Oh my gosh," Dream said. "The same thing happened to me. I went to detention, but the teacher there said I didn't have any."

"Huh, and then you went to the gym."

"Yeah, but instead of getting beat up, I guess I just...fainted."

"So, what do we do now?"

"I guess the only way to go is...up," Zac pointed up the flight of stairs.

"I guess so," Dream agreed.

There were so many stairs, Dream felt like she had worked out more in the past few minutes than in her entire life combined. Breathing heavily, she leaned against the wall to take a break several times along the way up.

"You don't work out much, do you?" Zac teased, looking perfectly at ease.

"Don't make fun of me," Dream scowled. "Some people actually do their homework."

"Fair enough."

They went up about four or five floors before seeing a door. Zac and Dream exchanged a glance, before Dream shrugged.

"What can we do?" she said.

"I guess we open it," Zac said nervously, pushing open the door.

They were outside.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh," Dream said, taking in the sunlight. "We're outdoors. We escaped."

"Good," Zac said. "How amazing. Because we're no longer in a building, but do you have any clue where we are?"

Dream looked around. "Um...no..."

"Exactly," Zac glared at her.

"You don't have your phone with you?"

"No," Zac said. "And I assume you don't either."

"It doesn't matter," a voice said. Zac and Dream froze, both of them recognized the voice.

It was the same one who they heard in the gym.

The tall, hooded figure stood in front of them. "You think we'd let you escape so easily?"

"Who's we?" Dream asked.

"That does not concern you," the voice said. It was dangerous. Sickly. Deadly, even.

Dream tried to move, but she was paralyzed in fear as she saw the figure draw a gun. But it wasn't like she could have made it far if she ran, either.

But beside her, Zac was nowhere to be seen. What the heck? She thought. Did he seriously just disappear and leave her to be killed?

If I make it out alive, I am so killing you, Zac, Dream thought as the gun was pointed towards her head.

Then, just as the hooded figure was about to shoot the gun, a shorter, skinny, figure--also clad in a black from head to toe--wrestled the hooded figure to the ground.

For a moment, it was just a huge blur of black, and Dream decided to make a run for it. But just as she was about to get away, she heard someone call, "Dream! Wait!"

Dream froze. That was so not the voice Dream thought it was...

"I was the one who saved you from the room," the person continued. "Aren't you even going to thank me?"

That was definitely the person Dream thought it was. There was no denying it there.

Having already knocked out the tall hooded figure, the shorter figure stood up and pulled back their hood.

Dream stared, her jaw dropping open.

Here's Chapter 15! Most of you were right, it was Zac calling behind Dream at the end of the previous chapter. But then... who was the one who saved them? Dun dun dunnnnnn... Comment below your thoughts! 🙃
