That night, when they set up camp, they were all joking around.
Thorin suddenly turned to Musania.
"I haven't heard you sing in a while."
"Really? You want me to sing?"
"Yeah, is there something wrong?"
"Not really, I just wasn't expecting it."
"Ok."
"I will sing on one condition."
"And what would that be?"
"You do too."
"What?"
"You sing too."
"I sang last night."
"Fine... Old man."
She had to think for a moment.
Well you know those times when you feel like
There's a sign there on your back
That says I don't mind if you kick me, seems like everybody has
Things go from bad to worse
You think it can't get worse than that
And then they do
You step off the straight and narrow
And you don't know where you are
Used the needle of your compass, to sew up your broken heart
Ask directions from a genie in a bottle of jim beam
And she lies to you
That's when you learn the truth
If you're goin' through hell keep on going
Don't slow down if you're scared don't show it
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there
I've been deep down in that darkness
I've been down to my last match
Felt a hundred different deamons breathin' fire down my back
And I knew that if I stumbled I'd fall right into the trap
That they were layin'
But the good news is there's angels everywhere out on the street
Holdin' out a hand to pull you back up on your feet
The one's that you've been draggin' for so long
You're on your knees might as well be prayin'
Guess what I'm sayin'
If you're goin' through hell keep on going
Don't slow down if you're scared don't show it
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there
If you're goin' through hell keep on going
Don't slow down if you're scared don't show it
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there
When you're goin' through hell keep on movin'
Face that fire walk right through it
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there
If you're goin' through hell keep on going
Don't slow down if you're scared don't show it
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there
When you're goin' through hell keep on movin'
Face that fire walk right through it
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there
"Now why were you so hesitant to sing?" Thorin teased.
"Blah, blah, blah. Shut up old man."
Suddenly, orcs and wargs were heard.
"What was that?" Bilibo asked frightfully.
"Ocrs. The lowlands will be crawling with them." Musania said, standing to make sure none were in the vicinity.
"They'll strike in the dead of the night, and you'll never hear them coming." Kili said mysteriously.
"There will be no screams, no blood." Fili said, smirking.
They laughed when Bilbo looked terrified.
"What the hell are you laughing about?! Killing isn't funny! Until you witness everyone you know and love dying at the hands of orcs because of you, do not speak your feelings of these matters!" Musania exclaimed, literally running from camp.
Thorin tuned exasperatedly to his nephews.
"You two are going to pay for this."
He then had to run to catch up with his surrogate daughter.
He found her with her knees pulled up to her chest and her face hidden in her arms.
He sat beside her and put an arm around her.
"Calm down Mus, it wasn't your fault, I promise."
"I thought you said that they were good kids, that you had taught them about these things."
"They meant nothing by it. They don't have the experience you do."
She laid her head on his shoulder, and eventually calmed down.
"I hate Azog. I hate him so freakin' much."
