Pig to Plate: Part Two (Final Part)

WARNING
The following contains graphic depictions of animal cruelty reader discretion is advised.

It's been ten months and you are finally somewhere else. Not much better but moved from the place you were. You gave birth to two stillborn piglets and five living piglets (I dare not say "healthy").

The conditions were tedious, your world was metal bars, screams, and death. Your cage was yet smaller than before. You were limited to laying and standing. You preferred a constant lay as your muscles were deteriorating not to mention you didn't want to crush one of your piglets. But each day when the farmer came he hit you with an electric rod until you painfully stood. Around you, some of the other sows had skinned bloody legs and could barely get themselves off the ground. But the farmer had not an ounce of mercy. He would abuse them until they did his will and stood in agony before falling back to the floor, sometimes they would fall upon piglets. Of course, they couldn't help it. But the piglets would scream and scream crushed as the sow tried and tried to stand again. Trying to save her precious child. The farmer would do nothing but walk away to the sound sound of screams. The piglet would suffer.

And suffer.

And scream.

And then the screaming would stop.

You prayed that you wouldn't have to experience that...

You looked around at the urine drenched cement. You looked at the wall with the pipe that deposited a small amount of water with chunks of waste in it. You looked at the small light that provided a meek warmth. You looked to the corner at the littlest piglet. A runt. You furrowed your brow at the meekness of the baby. It wasn't that you hated him for his unfortunate smallness. It was that you hated what would happen to him because of his smallness.

...

There is more. There is more and we need to make a change regardless of whether or not you eat dairy or meat. There needs to be a change. This only the story of a sow. Transportation, slaughter, and life as a male pig still remain uncovered within my small story. Please, if you can handle it, watch teh documentary Lucent or you could view documentaries such as Blackfish and other animal rights documentaries. They are very interesting. Be aware. - Snowy <3
