Sky was panting. Those kits were coming fast! And Chance had passed out because of stress so he was useless. Sky was alone.
Sky felt lots of pain. She could barely hold back a scream. Then she turned around and say a little kit on the ground. Sky was going to lick it but another burst of pain overtook her. She screamed and then saw another little kit on the ground. Somehow she knew that that was all of the kits. She smiled and started licking her babies. When she was done, the kits nosed their way to her stomach and started nursing.
Suddenly, Chance stirred. He woke up and looked around. "What happened?" Then he saw the kits and his face lit up. "THE KITS?! Oh my GOODNESS! You had the kits while I was asleep so I missed their birth?! Can you do it again?"
Sky laughed. "Sorry but no. That was hard enough work doing it one time!" She smiled down at her babies as the nursed. "There's two males. No females as I hoped. But two toms are amazing!"
Chance looked at them. "Hmmm. Let's name them... Fierce and Feisty. Just like their father!" One male was big and the other was the runt. The big one was chocolate brown with green eyes. And the runt was yellow with blue eyes. Just like Chance and Sky.
When the kits were done eating, and Sky rested, Chance and Sky took the kits back home. When they got home, everyone ran to meet them with a flurry of questions.
"Are you okay?"
"Are the kits okay?"
"When did you have the kits?"
"Did everything go alright?"
"I'm okay! Everything's fine! I promise!" Giggled Sky. She showed them the kits. They all cuddled them and hugged them.
"They're adorable!" Rose exclaimed. She turned to Rabbit. "Can we have kits?"
"I dunno. Maybe but not now. We have kits we need to watch over!" He answered. He smiled at the kits warmly.
"Sky, c'mon. I need to check you over." Niko said, motioning Sky over to her. Niko rubbed her paw over Sky's stomach. "Oh. That's not right. There's another bump. I think that's another kit, but I'm not sure. We need to watch that." Niko said, concerned. Sky was
worried, this could effect the life of her and her kits.
"Oh, but I'll be alright, right?" Sky asked.
Niko shrugged. "I think so. But you need to stay in my part of the den for now."
Sky nodded. "Okay, but..."
"What?"
"I'll survive, right?" Sky questioned.
"I think so." Niko replied. "Now let's go and get you and your kits situated." Niko took her, and her kits to her den to get her comfortable for her new life.
