ONE YEAR LATER
   Rabbit was padding into the den with Rose. They had just became mates a few weeks ago. And it was funny because Branch became mates with Niko and Sky became mates with Chance all on the same day!!! And Sky was expecting kits.
   "You have to stay in the den," Chance had said to a grumpy Sky. "You have to get ready for the kits."
   Rose and Rabbit entered the den site. They heard a Niko talking with Branch.
   "You've been but by a spider. I've given you some special flowers to help with it. It might make you crazy for a few days but-" Niko began but stopped as Branch's eyes got wide.
   "OH MY GOODNESS!!! THERE'S A TREE!!! AND ANOTHER! THEY ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE!!" He yelled. The flowers apparently drugged him. A lot.
   Rose and Rabbit laughed. Niko looked at them and smiled. "He's gonna be a little nauseous after this."
   "I FEEL LIKE I CAN RUN FOR MILES!!!" He exclaimed running around the den.
   Niko herded him outside. "Go out there and run." She told him. She looked at Rose and Rabbit. "I'm going to watch him for a while. You're in charge." Then she ran out with Branch.
Rose and Rabbit busted out laughing. It was so funny how Branch was crazy and his mate following him everywhere!
When they stopped laughing, the two went to visit Sky and Chance.
Sky was laying down with Chance right beside her. "Hello, Rabbit and Rose." She smiled. Her belly was heavy with kits.
Sky noticed Rabbit looking at her belly. "Any day now." She laughed faintly.
"And they will look like me!" Chance said, puffing out his chest.
Sky giggled. "Yes, dear. They will. Oh!" She gasped. "They kicked me!" And everyone started laughing.
A few hours went by with hunting and patrolling borders to make sure no more cats like Vulpes didn't turn up.
During that time, Niko came back with Branch. He was still delusional.
"OH MY GOODNESS! There is MORE CATS!!! Who knew there was MORE?!" He exclaimed staring at the other cats. The other cats laughed along with Niko.
"WHY are they LAUGHING AT ME!?! Are they MOCKING ME?! Because if they ARE, I can beat them in a FIGHT ANYTIME!!!" Branch cried narrowing his eyes at everyone. He puffed out his chest to look strong. He pranced around to look quick. Everyone busted out laughing and soon Branch followed along.
Days went by, and everyone was bored. There was nothing to do and no excitement.
Chance one day said to Sky, "Wanna go on a walk?"
Sky looked at her stomach. They won't be born yet, she thought. So she answered with, "Sure. Let's go."
And the two mates went on a walk. Niko knew there was something wrong about this. "Hmmm, maybe we should be on all four paws. Be ready." She announced. The other cats nodded.
Back on the walk, Sky was feeling a little wrong. They were pretty far away from camp. Even the loudest meow couldn't reach.
Sky took a deep breath and sat down. Chance looked at her strangely. "What's wrong?" He asked.
"Oh, nothing. Maybe it was the mouse I ate this morning. I'll be alright. I just need a little rest." She answered. She certainly knew it wasn't the mouse that morning. She didn't even eat a mouse that morning! She kept thinking that it was... nah, that wouldn't happen.
Sky got up and started walking again with Chance. Chance kept looking over suspiciously.
After a little while more, Sky started feeling wrong again. And a sharp pain in her stomach. She knew...
"Chance! The kits are coming!"
Chance shot into action. He made her sit down and calmed her down. "Shhh it will be alright. But we can't reach help. So the kits will have to be born right here!"
Sky knew from the start that they would come now. She just didn't believe it.
Now from bad choices, her and the kits might die right here! Without help, they had no chances for survival.
