Blazekit was scared. What if he died out here? No. He wouldn't. He had his strengths. But he did have his weaknesses too.
He tried to close his eyes and breathe. He calmed his heart and slowly started to smell his surroundings. He smelled trees and rabbits and other prey. Nothing out of the ordinary.
"Going somewhere?" Said a voice from behind.
Blazekit whipped around. Oh no! Rabbitmoon's got me!
Instead, the voice was deeper and snake-like. It sounded older. Who was this stranger?
"H–hello?" Blazekit's voice cracked.
"A pathetic, blind kit. I'm not going to hurt you. What are you doing out here in the middle of the night all by yourself?" The voice said sympathetically.
"I'm not pathetic!" Wailed Blazekit. "And I'm running away. So get out of my way!"
The animal was surprised, even though Blazekit couldn't see it. "Fierce, aren't you? Anyway, are you running away because your family treats you like a kit with no legs? Like your helpless?"
Blazekit was shocked. "Y–yes! That's exactly why! Does your family do that too?"
The animal did something between a laugh and a growl. "No. My family's, ugh,... gone. No, I just had a dwelling my that that's what happened to you."
Blazekit nodded, eager to hear more.
"Do you want revenge on them?"
Blazekit thought about it. He wanted to show his family that he could do things! This could be his chance! Blazekit smiled.
"I do." He answered plainly.
The animal smiled evilly. "By the way, what's your name?"
"My names Blazekit. What's yours?"
"Before you an know that, willl you join my side, fight back, and show those cats that you can do things too? That your not as pathetic as you look? That you are more powerful than them all put together?" The animal said greedily.
Blazekit was excited. "Yes. I do! When will we do this? Now? Tomorrow?"
The animal did the growl–laugh again. "Slow down. You need training first. You need to live with me for this to work. You will not be able to go back until we figh–ugh, show them that we can do things. Do you understand?"
Blazekit nodded. "Now, what's your name?"
The animals smiled. He was missing one tooth.
"My name is Vulpes."
