Part 16: Solutions
Rabbitmoon gasped. "Oh no..."
"What?" Asked Rosestar. She was smiling, looking at her kits. She looked so happy and peaceful.
"Uh, nothing." Rabbitmoon answered quickly. "It's just... I'll be right back," he whipped around and strutted towards Niko.
"Niko!" He hissed at her. She was organizing herbs, and she started when he said her name.
"Yes?" She asked him, turning. "Is it Rosestar? Or the kits?"
Rabbitmoon nodded slightly. "Kind off. One of the kits, Blazekit, I think is blind. But I need you to check."
Niko's eyes widened. "Really? Well of course I'll check. Let's go."
Rabbitmoon lead her to the kits and Rosestar.
Niko explained what Rabbitmoon thought to Rosestar.
She didn't take it well.
"What?" She cried. "He is not!... oh," she looked at his eyes and her voice faltered. She turned to the Sick-Paw and her mate. "No..." she fell into Rabbitmoon's chest fur and started to bawl.
"Shhh... it's alright. Niko's going to make sure. And if he is, we'll protect him. I promise. Nothing is going to touch my kit!" Rabbitmoon soothed, but his words ended up into a strict promise.
Rosestar sniffed, looking at him with glistening eyes. "Are you sure?"
Rabbitmoon looked down at her aand set his jaw. "Over my dead body." She smiled faintly.
"I love you..." she whispered. He licked her ear. "Me too,"
"Hmm," Niko was watching Blazekit carefully. He was sniffing around and bumping into things. "Very peculiar. Yep," she said finally looking up to the parents. "I think he's blind. I'm so sorry."
Rosestar couldn't take it. She burst into tears, startling the three other kits suckling at her belly.
"What's are we gonna do?" Asked Rabbitmoon. Niko shrugged.
Rabbitmoon just sighed. If they had no help, Blazekit couldn't make it.
Chance's exercises were working. He was walking much easily now, with little struggle. Maybe if Rabbitmoon had another dream with Scarlet in it, she could tell him about something to help with Blazekit!
"Goodnight!" He yelled, running towards his nest. Even though it was the middle of the day, he was a little tired. Maybe he would fall asleep. Only time would tell. He got comfortable and shut his eyes tight. Soon, luck helped him out, and he started to dream.
