ChapterThree: Move-In Day

A/N: This entire story is a rough draft. I'm not entirely crazy about this chapter, but I promise that when I get this story officially published, it'll be much better written.

ChapterThree: Move-In Day

March 2156

At the military base in Parisian, numerous cars and buses arrived. They were all filled with young Earth Hunters and Bittens who were recruits from the Eurmerican Federation, a newly-formed nation with Parisian as the capital. The nation included the modernized Native cities. Of course, all the cities were fenced in. The island of Britannia became its' own nation, building many cities to house the ever-growing Underground refugees from Earth. The capital there was Landon.

The large group of recruits eventually entered the training building. James, Hannah, Damon, and Zoe stood together while being surrounded by all the other recruits. Everyone was facing what looked like a small stage, waiting to hear anything from anybody.

A few minutes later, Commander Aaron Eckhart and two soldiers walked in. The three stepped onto the platform. They faced all of the recruits, seeing their emotions were running around.

Aaron then spoke up: "Welcome recruits! I see we gained a very big turn out, which was something we expected. Now, you know why you chose this life-changing role: It's to find the true history of the GH569 Hunters, and their origins. The Historical Accuracy Division was created after it was surfaced they had history book in their possession.

"There are two books: One in English, and the other written in their Native language, which has been noted that it sounds like the Russian language. They do have some information about the GH569 Hunters, or Natives as they're called. They shed some light on the failed space mission to GH569 in 2055, but not much else. The books claim the Natives have been around for over 10,000 years, but the books start at the year 2026, and the books actually say the year 2026. We are still amazed that they used our calendar system.

"Yet, there are a lot of holes in their history. The books said there was some catastrophic event that happened on this planet, hence the low population, lack of modern technology, and the supposedly the start of written history. At the same time, it has been revealed that there were Hunters living on Earth. Many of them. There might be more still on Earth as the government is still transferring the Undergrounders to this planet. The Natives say they're originally form this planet, but we looked into government records from many nations, both public and top secret. There weren't any records of alien colonization on Earth. Alien sightings? Sure. Other than that, there was nothing indicating that there were extraterrestrials living among us."

Just as Aaron was about to continue, one of the recruits, Duke, spoke up sneeringly in a rough German accent, "So what exactly are we doing to get this supposed 'truth'?"

With that, everyone stares at Duke, shocked by both his attitude and his question. Aaron, on the other hand, smirked and chuckled. He asked Duke, "What is your name?"

Duke smirked back, quite proudly, "David Guttenberg, but everyone calls me Duke."

"Well, Duke, tell me, what can you deduce from the information I just gave you?"

"I don't know, you're the Mutant. You tell me."

With that, everyone gasped. Aaron smirked, "I would love to deduce, but none of us can. You see, there's this wall blocking us 'Mutants' to get the truth."

"So what makes us 'aliens' any useful? None of us are seers."

"I'll tell you in a moment, but you tell me what you can deduce from the information I gave you with your limitations."

Duke shrugged as he replied, "We're from Earth. I don't know, some mad scientist decided to create real Jekyll and Hydes. As for the Natives, either they're also from Earth and were sent here for some exploration. Or it's just a coincidence that they're also Hunters. Maybe they contacted the mad scientist to create us. I don't know, but it's a mine gold for conspiracy theorists."

Aaron chuckled. Then he said, "We'll select 10 of you to be in our new division, but we'll have to both train you and test you. Not only we have to find your strengths, but we need to know what we're working with. We're still very much in the dark about your kind. Once we get enough information about your kind, then we'll send the ten strongest members off to time traveling assignments. Yes, time traveling has been around for almost 50 years now, but just now we found a purpose for this. You will be sent off to meet with the Natives, and write down everything they'll tell you."

With that, everyone was silent. Aaron deduced they weren't too pleased with this, especially Duke and Damon. Duke clearly didn't want to be there, but then again, it wasn't his choice. He was dragged by the police to join the Division to avoid jail-time.

Damon, on the other hand, knew who would get upset if he were to get stuck in the past. He was aware that Cassie was almost eighteen, which meant that her Alpha mode was about to emerge. He was told of the power of the Alpha One, but he never seen it on full force. He even met her brother Breyden, and he seemed calm. Serious, but calm.

Then Aaron told everyone, "Your bunkers are gendered and assigned. Go unpack your things, and meet us in the medical facility."

With that, everyone picked up their things, and went off their assigned bunkers. Damon eventually saw his, so he placed his stuff there. He felt the bed was actually quite soft. As he saw on the mattress, Duke walked up to him.

Damon looked up, and asked, "Yes?"

Duke replied roughly, "You're on my bed."

Damon looked around for any sign indicating it was Duke's. There was nothing there. He said, "There's no label with your name it on."

With that, Duke pushed Damon off the bed, and sat on it. Damon looked at him, but all Duke did was state this: "You're from the German State?"

"Yeah?"

"So am I. Maybe you've seen me O.N.E."

Damon looked at him, trying to figure him out. Duke, who noticed him staring at him, took off his sun-goggles. There wasn't really any sunshine peaking through the building, so it was safe for Duke to do this act. Damon's eyes widen, and said, "You're, you're David Guttenberg the Younger!"

Duke smirked, "Everyone calls me Duke, and that's what I prefer."

"I didn't know you were a Hunter!"

"I wasn't until this past New Year's. Fun time."

"Okay, but still! You're from a rich politician family. Why would you join the Division?"

With that, Duke grabbed the collar of his hoodie, and said sternly, "Don't. Ask. Questions."

Even though Damon had his sun-goggles on, Duke could sense Damon was scared. With that, Duke smirked as he put him down. Then he added, "Make sure you know that."

Damon sighed, and grabbed his bags. He walked around, looking for another bunker when he heard his name being called. He looked around, and saw James and another recruit, Finn Moreau. James told him, "Hey, come join us! We have one more bed!"

Damon smiled, and he accepted the bed. Finn greeted warmly in his French accent, "Hey, I'm Finn."

Damon replied, "Damon."

Duke saw this from his own bunk. He shrugged, and got back to unpacking the little items he did have.
