The New House
This is the story of the day my life changed. I had just moved out of my parents house and got this huge place for cheap. I was surprised that such a huge place was that cheap. This was how my Story started.
A young man with short black hair and crystal blue eyes stepped into a huge empty house. It was already furnished and had power. He had spent all week moving his things into the large building. He finally moved himself in. He had people who moved everything in for him, so he decided to look around. There were at least twelve bedrooms, eleven of them empty. He went to the kitchen and then the lounge room. He spent about 2 hours checking the place out, until he reached the basement door. He tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge. He decides to call the guy he bought the house from.
"Hello? Um is there a key for the basement?" He asked.
"No. You should not go in there." He said in a worried voice.
"Why? What's down there?" He looked at the door.
"I said don't worry. As long as you never go in there you'll be fine." He said more scared.
"Why can't I go in? Is there like an asbestos problem or something?" he asked.
"Yeah! That's it. That's why the door is concreted shut. It was easier to do that." He said in a fake calmed voice.
"Um I think I'm gonna have it checked out. My uncle died from Asbestosis." he said.
"Fine. It's your funeral." he said quickly before hanging up.
As the man hung up he heard planes flying away close to him. He instantly though the guy was leaving the state or something for selling him a disease filled house. He sighed and stared at the door. He then heard groaning from the other side and leaned his ear against it.
"Is someone in there?!" He shouted.
He waited for another groan, but heard nothing. He ran out to the garage in hopes that they left some of the gear behind. The thought that the man he got it from was a serial killer and left his victim there filled his head. He found a jack hammer in the garage and ran back. He turned it on and almost dropped it a few times. It destroyed the wooden door, but took time on the cement on the other side. He spent around Thirty minutes trying to break it. He kept dropping it and it was too heavy and powerful for him so it moved away and hit the wall a few times. As soon as he was able to fit through he turned it off and dropped it.
"Hello?!" He shouted down the long dark stairway.
He heard another groan and turned the flashlight on his phone on. He slowly walked down and looked around. It looked old, like no one had been there in centuries old. There were dusty barrels and broken crates. The place was filled with broken bottles and rusty tools. He saw a moving tarp in the corner.
"Um is there someone here?" He looked over at it.
He saw it move and groan. He ran over and moved the tarp. He dropped his phone at what he saw. There was a girl chained up. He went to help her, as he got closer he saw she had blue palish skin, and a dead stare. She had this horrible smell, and her clothes were ripped.
He carried her up the stairs and set her down on the couch. He cecked for a pulse, but couldn't find one. He went to call an ambulance, but she sat up.
"N-No. Don't." She said quietly.
"What? Why not?! Are you okay?" He ran over to her.
"I'm fine." She said.
"Who are you? Well what are you? Why were you down there?" He asked her.
"My name is Amelia. I am a zombie. I was locked there two hundred years ago." She said quietly.
"A zombie? Like a real zombie? Those aren't real. Wait is this a prank? Am I on one of those prank shows?!" He looked around for cameras.
"Prank show?" She looked at him confused.
Then it sunk into him. The century old basement, the rotten smell, the worried man who sold him it, and why the house was so cheap. He stared at her, and backed away. She didn't get up, but watched him.
"What is your name?" She asked.
"Jimmy. Jimmy Maple" He replied as he reached for the phone. "I'm just gonna call the cops."
"Cops?" She looked at him confused.
"They'll come take you away." He said.
As he went to put in the first number she tackled him, forcing him to the ground with ease. He looked up to go and try to push her off, but he saw tears in her eyes. He stopped fighting back and just stared up at her. He sighed, knowing that he would regret it, but asked anyways.
"Um are you okay Amelia?" He asked.
She shook her head no, and kept crying. She let go and got off him. He just felt bad and stared at her.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"I don't wanna be lonely anymore!" She shouted as she cried.
He just felt really bad and let out a loud sigh as he hugged her from behind. She stopped crying and looked at him confused.
"How about I let you stay here with me? You won't be alone, but you have to follow rules." He said to her.
She wiped her tears and nodded. "What are they?"
"First off that smell, we gotta find a way to make you smell less dead. Secondly you can pick any room you want to have as yours, and finally don't go too far away from the house. If someone saw you there's no telling what would happen." He explained to her.
She smiled and nodded, then got up. She seemed kinda clueless to him, and he wanted to know more about her. Like how did she become a zombie, why was she locked up, did she know the man who sold him the house, and so much more. His head was full of questions, but he didn't wanna seem rude. She started walking around the house, and he then realized she was practically naked. He ran to his room and got a hoodie and some jeans, and gave them to her. She looked at them confused.
"What are these?" She looked at them and even sniffed them.
"Clothes. You can't walk around naked. These will do till I buy you some clothes" Jimmy sighed.
"So they're gifts?" Amelia looked at him.
"Um yeah I guess?" He said in a confused tone.
She smiled and instantly put them on, he could tell just by looking at her that she had never gotten a gift before. He gave a tour of the house and got to his room. As soon as they walked in she started touching everything.
"I pick this room." She said.
"Um no, you can have any other room. I will get you a bed and some stuff to decorate it if you want." He said.
"No. I want this one." She said stubbornly.
"Why do you want this one?" He started to get annoyed.
"Because it is your room." She looked at him.
"Well where will I sleep?" He asked, crossing his arms now.
"In here with me." She smiled.
He suddenly got a slight blush "Um why?" He asked.
"You make me not lonely, so I wanna always be by you." She smiled.
He sighed and stared at her for a minute. "Fine, but just tonight. Tomorrow we get a bed and you pick a different room." He told her.
She nodded happily then he heard a small groan come from her. He looked at her confused. She looked back at him, and it happened again. He realized it was more of a gurgle noise now.
"What was that?" he asked her.
"My stomach, I'm hungry." she replied.
He suddenly remembered that in movies zombies ate people, he stared at her for a second and shouted without thinking "Well you can't eat me."
She pouted when he said that. "I eat raw meat. I don't eat people." she said slightly annoyed.
He let out a huge sigh of relief and took her into the kitchen. He grabbed some ground beef out of the fridge and put it on a plate. He set it at the table, and as soon as he did she started scarfing it all down. He smiled at her and went to his room for the night. Within minutes of him getting into bed he smelt rotting two century old flesh enter the room, and climb into the bed with him.
