Chapter 2 - meeting Jarvis

They were given actual rooms.

Wanda didn't know how to handle that. Of course she had had a room with Hydra but those only consisted of cold walls and a bed that could have been used as a whetstone.

The rooms the Avengers gave them were big, much bigger than any rooms the twins had seen before. They had big beds, shelfs, a wardrobe, a TV and even a private bathroom next door. It was overwhelming to say the least.

For a minute or two she just stood in the center of her new room, looking around in awe. Everything was so big and clean, it would definitely take a while to get used to.

When she heard a knock on the door, she turned around, not expecting her brother. She always felt him, knew exactly where he was. Their mind-bond was something they both agreed on after Wanda had gained control over her new powers.

Well... Some sort of control at least.

"Come in.", she said, remembering that that was what she was supposed to do. Wanda wasn't used to privacy anymore.

The door opened and the redhead from earlier entered, a polite smile plastered on her face.

"Hey. I brought you some clothes and a hair brush... I figured you might want to shower and change.", she said, putting said items on the bed.

"Yeah... Thanks.", Wanda muttered, unsure of what else to say.

"My name is Natasha, by the way. Natasha Romanoff.", she said, stretching out her hand for Wanda to shake, so she did.

"Good girl. Do what you're expected to do."

"Thank you for saving us.", Wanda finally said, letting go of Natasha's hand as soon as possible without seeming impolite.
The redhead just winked at her.

"It's our job. Call me if you need anything, okay?"

Wanda nodded. The spy shot her one last smile before giving Wanda some space to settle in, closing the door behind her.

"Wait, how am I supposed to call-", Wanda realized out loud, but it was too late. Natasha was gone already.

"If you need Miss Romanoff, please do not hesitate to ask for my help, Miss Maximoff. I am at your service at all times.", said a robotic male voice, right above her head.

Wanda jumped and let out a shriek, accidentally blowing up the tiny lamp on her bedside table. Her eyes moved around the room nervously.

"Who just said that?", she hated to hear her voice shaking. It was a sign of weakness.

"I apologize for scaring you, Miss Maximoff. Allow me to introduce myself: I am J.A.R.V.I.S. An artificial intelligence, created by Mister Stark to assist him and his friends.", the voice said, making Wanda scrunch her face up in disgust upon hearing the name 'Stark'.

"So you're a computer?", she asked.

"Yes, Ma'am."

"And you live in my walls?"

"No, Ma'am, I am simply able to communicate with you through the speakers inside your wall."

Wanda rolled her eyes. "Whatever."

"Would you like me to call Doctor Banner? Your heart rate still has not decreased after I scared you by accident.", he asked but Wanda quickly shook her head. "No!"

There was a moment of silence before a thought occurred to her. "Can you see me?", she asked, feeling the curiosity take over her mouth, something she wasn't allowed to let happen for a long time.

"Yes, Ma'am, my system is connected to all of the tower's security cameras.", he answered truthfully.

Wanda's eyebrows shot up. "There are cameras in this room?", she asked, her voice back to shaking just a tiny bit.

"Yes, Ma'am."

She swallowed hard. It was all happening again.

"We see every single thing you do, so don't even think about stepping out of line."

"Miss Maximoff?", Jarvis pulled her out of her thoughts. "Hm?", she hummed, sweat starting to form on her forehead and palms.

"The sensors have detected an increasing amount of adrenaline in your blood, would you like me to call Miss Romanoff?", she heard him say but his voice was far away.

She was suffocating. She couldn't breath. She needed to get out of here.

"Do as you're told."

"Don't step out of line."

"Do you really think we care?"

"You're worthless."

Her hands flew to her ears, covering them, trying desperately to block out the voices.

"Your pathetic brother can't save you now."

"You belong here, Wanda."

"We see everything."

"Stop!", she screamed, shaking. She just wanted it to stop. Hot tears ran down her cheeks, as she could make out a silhouette in front of her.

It was her brother, of course it was. He always knew when she needed him.

"Wanda... Nasledujte môj hlas (Follow my voice).", she heard him say, his hand wiping away the tears on her face.

"Vráťte sa ku mne, prosím. (Come back to me, please)"

She closed her eyes and focused on her brothers voice, letting him pull her out of the darkness. Her heart rate slowed down and so did her breathing.

She heard several things fall to the ground. She must have lost control again.

"To je v poriadku, to je v poriadku. (It's okay, it's okay.)", Pietro said, pulling her into his arms. She broke down crying, not caring that she was weak. Pietro was there, he would protect her.

His lips connected with her forehead while he rubbed soothing circles on her back, centering her in the present.

They heard a nervous cough near the door and Pietro turned his head to see Natasha, the arrow guy and doctor Banner standing there.

"I could give her sedatives, if you want.", Doctor Banner offered shyly but Pietro only shot him a glare.

"Don't ever get that stuff near her, do you understand?", he threatened and the doctor simply nodded, not taking any offense in her brother's behavior.

"Leave us alone, for god's sake, she's not an animal in the zoo!", Pietro snarled, his accent thick with anger. The three Avengers backed up slightly.

"Let us know if there's anything we can do.", the arrow guy said, before closing the door.
Wanda finally relaxed into her brother's arms, exhaustion taking over her.
