Yuri's POV

Now, the DOPE is shrunk, the world around me is on fire, I'm bruised and weak, my girlfriend, my friends, they're gone...

A, steel truck?.. No no- Not the council.. How did they find me? How did-

"You're here. Finally.." Mother. That is mother's voice.

"Mhm, thank you for assisting us, your payment will be transferred accordingly. Though I'm surprised, you're her mother, yes? Why betray her?" I do not recognize that voice.

"Tch.. The second she left Jennurhia she was no longer my daughter, just some little pest that happens to have my DNA." I thought she had changed..

Every last part of my body feels an unbearable pain, this feels like the end. How did this happen? I can't... remember.

She- They believe I will go without trouble if I'm weakened? Barely alive? They are wrong... The Council ruined my childhood, they made me assault my friends, and now they feel they have the liberty to whisk me away as if I'll hand myself over on a silver platter? Then they are very, very wrong. I can hear my friends, in the distance. Monika sounds distressed. Are they taking them too? I can already tell what they plan on doing with them.. I can't let this happen! I mustered what strength I had left to try and pull myself up, only to be struck down once more.

"Fuck!" I roared out in pain.

"Yuri!" Natsuki, that's her voice, she's crying. How dare they hurt my love. C'mon Yuri, get up!

But she could not. Issa, Monika, Sayori, Natsuki, her friends were taken away in a separate truck, however Yuri found herself alone in a truck made to keep her in. The world is no longer sunshine. This world is about to get grim.

Fading in and out of consciousness Yuri tried to remember how this had happened. All she could remember was her mother coming for a visit, playing a "trick" by shrinking their main form of transport under oath it was temporary.. Then... This. The Council assaulted them, with help from Yuri's own mother.

The purple-maiden let out a pained groan as the truck she was in hit a bump and ended up sending her from a sitting position to a laying one as her head hit the cold metal flooring. She was shackled from head to toe, making it hard to breath and perceive her surroundings. For once in her life, she felt, hopeless.

And then, the option was presented to her.

Yuri's eyes softened. Did she really want to try again? Or did she want to risk losing for good and finally, truly dying in an attempt to turn this around? Her heavy eyelids came to a close as she thought about what it would be like, meeting and falling in love with Natsuki all over again, feeling that resentment towards Monika for something out of her control. The time she spent helping and playing with Sayori. Would she have to hurt Axel all over again just to tame him? Could she guarantee she knew what to do?..

She could clearly envision her's and Natsuki's first real interaction, like watching the same movie or song so many times that you know it by heart...

"Wh- who are you!?" Natsuki would shout, catching Yuri hiding in the shadows of her home for the first time. The uneasy fear in her eyes pained Yuri each time, knowing that even though she might not be anymore, once in Natsuki's eyes she was nothing more than a monster.

She let her head rest against the metal floor completely, she was going to make this right.. Somehow, she wasn't resetting this time. She will make this her happy ending.

Meanwhile, the girl of pink hair was simply thrown in a less guarded truck with all of her friends, and her dog, Axel. Her head pounded, as she tried to make sense of what had happened. Most importantly she thought of what was happening with Yuri, where did they take her? Why? Even Monika, the girl she knew for making plans and keeping her head above water, was in a panicked state. The air was thick, and poor Sayori simply couldn't take it. So she tried cracking a joke in an effort to boost spirits by just a bit.

"Sorry you had to go through something like this so early after joining us Ms. Rappu. I swear it isn't the norm." She said, faking a small smile. Issa smiled at her, more confused than afraid at the moment.

"It's cool. Definitely a change from my performances though." She said.

Natsuki & Monika stayed silent, both worried for their purple-haired companion more than themselves. Soon the air thickened once more, the only noise they heard was the rain outside.

While Natsuki's mind was clouded with worry, Monika's was running 10 mph trying to figure things out.

She knew Yuri's biological mother wasn't to be trusted, so why did she trust her? She inwardly bashed herself for not thinking ahead. Lady Kimura was a coward in Monika's eyes, when Yuri was nowhere to be found she didn't go looking for her, no, she blamed it on Abaddon. Which, he was no better, he may have given Yuri a home when she escaped but he too did nothing to help her. Kayna cursed herself for not taking Yuri with her when she left the Council, she was the only staple the girl had and she, like everyone else had done to her, left.

Monika sighed, she had failed, she failed Libitina as Kayna, and she failed Yuri as Monika. She didn't consider herself worthy of the position of "mother" however, the alternative was much worse than her.

Libitina was such a sweet child, monster or not, Monika couldn't wrap her head around the fact that to some Council members she was but a tool. She wished for the day that instead of this chaos she could simply live, live a life where these wretched people never hurt her daughter, one where Yuri could simply be happy with Natsuki. Most importantly, one where the Council doesn't exist.

One of the people driving the truck came in the back to speak, specifically to Monika.

"Ms. Kayna, my how you've let yourself go.. There's a chance for you though. You can always return to working with us on Project Libitina. The Council of The Void is fully ready to forgive you in turn for your brain back on the team." Those words enraged Monika.

"Like hell, I'm never hurting that girl again, and so help me if you do you will never see the end of my fury!" She lashed out, she cared for Yuri only comparable to the way a mother cares for her child, the ever persistent need to protect her. Even Issa drew back at that statement, Monika could be threatening when she needed to be.

"How barbaric! Tch... It's your loss." The person walked away once more. Leaving the group to their silence once more. Monika closed her eyes, trying to think of a plan, anything.. Anything at all...
