"I'm back." The receptionist looked from her desk to find Jack, in his adventurer outfit, walking towards her with a few dirt on him but otherwise fine, which caught her attention.

"Already? And you didn't get sick at all?" She asked baffled.

The quests Jack had taken on was to clear several rocks that blocked a path from the mountains down to the Redbay which forced people who're reliant on the shortcut to take a longer, much more dangerous route. However, the rocks turned out to be toxic as it releases mercury vapor upon being struck which can cause illness.

Several adventurers had already fallen victim with one or two dying as a result of metallic poisoning. Yet the disguised Monster Shifter looked healthy.

"Well....." Jack scratched his cheek, chuckling as he recalled how he managed to do so.

Flashback

"Could use a little more salt!" Jack hummed as he devoured another chunk of rock he had in his mouth and swallowed it in one gulp, letting out a sigh of satisfaction. His current Monster form resembles a fat lizard with blue scales and yellow stripes from its back legs to the tail. Its underside is gray and had yellow beady eyes. Its lower jaw had black scales which serves as a pouch and the MonTrix symbol located on its left shoulder.

Dodogama, the Rock Bandit Wyvern, could smell the vapor entering his nose, but toxic fumes had no effect on him and he continued to chow down. Afterall, Dodogamas lived in the Elder's Recess and spent their daily routine eating rocks and minerals. This would be no different.

Jack had intended to use Gravios or even Uragaan to get the job done faster. But he was informed that the path that had been covered by rocks was located on a mountainside which was prone to landslides, and both Monsters were top heavy so he could end up causing more damage. Instead he went for the smaller but still capable Fanged Wyvern.

In just 5 minutes, Dodogama had cleared the rocks that was blocking the path and turns back into Jack, dusting his hands. "Easy peasy lemon squeezy." He said before letting out burp, a few bits of rock being deposited which made him blush.

"..... Let's just say I have my ways." Is all Jack said.

She stared at him for a while but shook her head and smiled. "Well nevertheless, here's your award." She handed a pouch containing 2 gold and 50 silver. He accepted his reward and thanked the receptionist before going out of the guild and headed to the supermarket to buy some groceries. After buying what he needs, he went to a cave location in a secret location so that he can either change his outfit or transform without anyone noticing.

"And that should be the last of it." Jack said as he stored the groceries inside a huge box alongside other food and materials and closed the lid after he confirmed that it was the contents inside it was enough for the people in the Stawford village, the first village he'd encountered upon his arrival in Eostia.

Due to its location outside the Kingdoms it was hard getting food for the citizens or materials to build a strong defense. It would take a long time find those and that's assuming they aren't ambushed by bandits or demons seeking to loot their hard-earned stuff.

It was the least he could do for them.

He checked the time on his MonTrix and saw that it was nearing lunch time. He the scrolls the roster and slams in the faceplate as a dark blue flash consumes him. "RATHALOS!" The King of the Skies declared and spreads his wings to take flight. Then he gently wraps his talons around the box to make sure it doesn't fall off and takes flight towards his destination.

Stawford Village

The village was bustling with activity as various people are busy with their daily routines. Women are either hanging clothes or chatting with neighbors, men are working on building large fences and renovating their houses and the children played with each other. The atmosphere is lively to say the least.

It wasn't like this before though. This particular village had been a prime target for marauders and given its location being far outside of any kingdom, any form of help would take days to arrived. There used to be multiple Iris Knights and Dawn Templars that were assigned to routinely guard villages, but the war against Olga and Garan had reduced their manpower and were left with no choice but to reinforce the remaining ones into the kingdoms, leaving them virtually vulnerable to raids.

Then everything changed with the appearance of Jack Andros, the Monster Shifter. Ever since his arrival, he had been clearing bandits and monsters throughout Eostia, drastically reducing their numbers and giving the unprotected villages, Stawford included, much needed time to recuperate. And once in a while, Jack would stop by to give them food and resources to strengthen their defense to be able to fend off raids.

And speaking of giving them food and resources.....

"It's the Monster Shifter!" A kid yelled excitedly pointing a finger in the sky. Everyone looks up and saw Rathalos, the very same transformation Jack used before departing, descending down with a large crater box on his claws. Immediately several people are already heading to his location, including the mayor and his wife.

"Special delivery!" Rathalos joked as he gently placed the huge box down on the ground and reverts back to Jack.

"Back so soon, my boy?" The mayor asked as he took a look inside and saw that it was filled the same stuff Jack had always brought to them. Inspecting it, he gave a nod to him. "This'll be enough for a feast. You have my gratitude young man."

"It's nothing. Think of it as my way of repaying your hospitality." Jack nodded and everyone cheered as they began to move the contents outside of the box to-

"Do you have nothing else to do but grope any women you see as you please?!" A shout came from the orphanage, cutting the once lively atmosphere in the air. "There's nothing else for you to take here!"

Jack frowned and turned to where the voice came from, it was near the orphanage. He holds his hand up when people are about to investigate mentally saying to them, 'I'll deal with this.' and began to make his way to the orphanage, readying his MonTrix in case there was trouble.

"Now, now. That's not a way to greet your guests." A gruff male voice spoke. It was someone not from this village and and he took a peek around the corner to see four men surrounding a mature woman, most likely the caretaker, who was standing in front of the orphanage while several scared kids peeked either the window or door. Despite her bravado, Jack could she was scared.

Based on their outfits and the emblems they wore, Jack realized they were part of the Black Dogs. From what he knew, they were the largest mercenary group and the ones that Celestine hired to battle Olga's monsters. That said, however, the Black Dogs have been known to steal from villages and fuck or grope unwilling females simply because they were the best at what they're doing and hired by Celestine, thinking that they wouldn't oppose the Goddess Reborn.

To Jack, these guys are no better than the monsters he's killed.

"I beg to differ miss. You have quite the body, especially those fat tits. How about giving those milks to us instead of those brats?" The one who spoke earlier snarked, sparking laughter from the other three as they approach the caretaker, who took a step back in fright. This made Jack frown.

He had seen enough.

"Is there a problem here, gentlemen?" Jack spoke loudly as he walked towards them, gaining their attention as they turned to face him.

"O-Oh! Mr. Jack. I-It's no problem, this is something I need to handle." And yet, the caretaker's voice wavered as fear took hold of him.

"And who the hell are you brat?" The man who was likely the superior of the four spat out as he stared at the teenager in front of him, looking unimpressed alongside his fellow mercenaries.

"Name's Jack Andros, and they call me the Monster Shifter." Jack said and looked at the caretaker. "Please get inside miss. I'll handle this." She nodded and ran as fast as she can to the door and locked it in case they chased after her. "And I'll repeat my question again; is there a problem gentlemen?"

"Damn right we got a problem, you bastard. We were about to have some fun until you interrupted it." A second Black Dog sneered as he and the others brandished their weapons and started to surround him.  They've heard rumors about the Monster Shifter but seeing it was this person they were confident they can kill him and loot his magical artifact so that Vult can use it to boost their reputation more.

"Funny, I was about the say the same thing: that everything was going well until you tried to force yourself onto a woman." Jack smiled and raised his MonTrix before slamming the faceplate, causing a dark blue flash that consumes him.

In his place was a quadrupedal monster with orange and blue striped scales with wings on its front limbs. It had three toes ending with claws and had a T-Rex shaped head with horn-like ears above it and blue eyes and has the MonTrix symbol placed on the left side of its neck.

"TIGREX!" The Roaring Wyvern roared, slamming his front limbs down in an act of intimidation. Even after numerous transformations, the crowd watching from afar couldn't help but be in awe of Jack's newest Monster form. The same can't be said for the Black Dogs, however, as they took a step back in fear as this is the first time they've seen Jack transform.

"Let me tell you something, perverted Black Dogs!" He roared, baring his teeth to the mercenaries. "Stawford Village is already having a hard time with demons and bandits wrecking the place, a place that Tigrex worked so hard to repay his gratitude with and you're ruining everything with your sick fantasies! Take your stuff and get the fuck out! If Tigrex gets word that you're in Stawford again, you'll be sorry!"

"O-Or lese what, asshole?!" One of the Black Dogs said, his brain not processing his threat as did the others. Something that Tigrex intents to make a preview of.

"Or else this!" Tigrex rears his upper body up and and takes a deep breath. Almost immediately, the crowd knows what he's about to do and covered their ears or moved far away as possible And sure enough, the Roaring Wyvern lived up to his name when he lets out an earth-shattering roar that sends them flying over fences or barrels. They became disorient and nearly deaf as a result of being close proximity of the roar.

"Tigrex will say it again, get out of here and never show your face!" Tigrex snarled. Soon the crowd also jeered and began shouting, telling the Black Dogs to leave their village or else they'll suffer the Monster Shifter's wrath.

"You.... you will pay for this!" The Black Dog that made the lewd comment on the caretaker yelled as he and his fellow mercenaries managed to regain their bearings, albeit groggily and began limped away.

"You're lucky Tigrex didn't resort to Brute Tigrex." Tigrex muttered, knowing his subspecies packed a way more powerful scream which, unlike his normal self, can be used as a weapon. Seeing they were out of sight, Tigrex slams the MonTrix symbol and reverts back to Jack.

"Are, are they gone?" Jack turns to see the caretaker opening the door and looking out to see if the Black Dogs are still there. Behind are the kids she was taking care of.

"Yeah, they skedaddled." Jack confirmed and the caretaker breathed a sigh of relief. "Sorry you had to see that. Tigrex has a bit of a temper that I can't really control."

"No, no. It's fine. I'm just glad that the children were not harmed." She reassured but let out another sigh. "It's just that ever since many knights have been withdrawn to aid the war against Garan, many villages such as this are left without protection. And as you can see, the Black Dogs have becoming much more bold, doing whatever they please thinking what won't be punished."

Jack frowned and crossed his arms, in deep thought. While he is no way saying that Seven Shields Alliance is 100% incompetent, he does question on whether they thought hiring mercenaries who're mostly motivated by money to do the fighting for them was a good idea. From what knows, the Black Dogs, outnumber any army of the Kingdoms 10 to 1.

He supposed that the war between the Alliance and Garan had left them no choice but to hire to mercenaries to fill their shoes. Still, Jack thought they should've at least put some sanctions on them if they got word that the Black Dogs are doing things like this under their nose. He can assume the nobles are in cahoots with the mercenaries or did not report them to Celestine to increase their wage.

Well if they won't bother aiding these poor people in their time of need, then he'll have to fill the void until the Alliance can get their shit together.

"Why don't you go and help the others prepare the feast." Jack said to her before smiling at the kids and waving his MonTrix around. "I think I have a transformation or two that will entertain the kids for a while."

From the very edge of where the border between Garan, Ken and Geofu is, the ground bursts to reveal a humongous blue and purple entity with sharp purple spikes and what looked to be gun barrels jutting from its upper body and tail with two horns from the front.

It sniffed the air trying to figure out where the energy was coming from. It had been one of Olga's strongest monsters and a guardian of the Black Fortress long before the Dark Elf took power: a Savage Dracon.

It had been in a dormant state since Olga's power waned during the war between Garan and the Seven Shields Alliance. However, a huge presence of energy caused it to awaken and to eliminate it at all cost.

After locating where the source came from, it let out a guttural roar, scaring any demons nearby into feeling and and began stomping towards the threat it detected to eliminate it once and for all.
