Remus sat at his stand,ready for a child to come by.

He sighed and cleared his throat"here in Paris the city awakes to the bells of Norte Dame,the fisher men fish and the baker bakes to the bells of Notre Dame!"Remus said in a sing song manner.

A group of children walked up to the stand"to the big bells as loud as thunder!"Remus gestures to the bell tower and the children stared in awe"to the small bell as light as a song."

"Some people say the very soul is in the bells,the bells of Norte Dame~!"Remus sang,"listen,they're beautiful aren't they?so many shapes and colors,sounds..but you know,they don't ring on their own."

Remus the pulled out his mini puppet and in a high voice said"they don't!?"Remus looked to his puppet"no you silly boy!"he ducked down trying to pretend to hide but could still be heard and seen.

"You see,high up there in the bell tower is the mysterious bell ringer."the children gasped"who is this creature?"

"Who!?"

"What is he?"

"What?"

"How'd he get in there?"

"How?"

Remus grabbed a toy mace and smacked his puppet"hush!"the children giggled"now,Remus will tell you tale.a tale of a man..and a monster."

Dark was the night where our tale has begun on the docks of Norte Dame~

A boat towed through the water,a chill in the air as a baby cried and sobbed.asking for food or some kind of water.

"Shut it up will you?it'll blow our cover!"a man growled,a woman in a hood nodded and looked to her precious cargo"hush little one."

Three frightened Gypsy's slid silently under the docks of Norte Dame~

The Gypsy's got off the boat"four gilders for safe passage."the man demanded,suddenly a arrow shot past his face making the Gypsy's look to their side.

But a trap has been set for the Gypsy's,as they gazed up in fear and alarm!who a figure's clutch's metal as much as the bells~the bells of Norte Dame~

"Judge Patton.."a Gypsy shuttered upon seeing a man on a pure white horse.

Judge Patton swore to purge the world of vice and sin,and he saw corruption everywhere but within~

The others were arrested by the soldiers"bring these Gypsy's to the palace of justice."Patton ordered.

"You,what do you have!?"a soldier grabbed the woman's wrist making her yelp and glare at the man,a hiss in her throat.

"Stolen goods no doubt,take them from her."Patton decided,the woman gasped and broke free of the man's grip.

She ran!

The woman looked around,she needed a way out.any way,she couldn't live with her only son stuck in stone walls!

The church,of course!the woman looked back and saw Patton gaining on her,the baby cried loudly as she jumped over a fence.

The woman then ran up to the door of the church and banged on the door"sanctuary,please give us sanctuary!"Patton ran with his horse to her,the woman panicked and started running again.

Patton grabbed the yellow silk wrapped around her baby and pulled,the woman turned back to him"let Janus go you snake!"she screamed.

The horse reared and the woman let go in surprise,falling back on the stairs.

The baby almost seem to knew his mother was gone as he sobbed,Patton looked down"a baby?"he moved some of the covering away and gasped"a monster!"Patton then looked for something to do.

Nearby was a well,Patton walked over and held the baby over the water"STOP!"

Cried the priest!

"This is a unholy demon,I'm sending it back to hell where it belongs."Patton said with a glare at priest Logan,Logan saw the woman and picked her up.

Definitely a Gypsy,she had the dragonlike features.

"Don't you see the innocent blood you have spilt on the steps of Norte Dame?"Logan asked"I am guiltless,she ran I perused!"Patton said,bringing the baby to his chest.

"Now you would add this child's blood to your guilt of these steps?"Logan asked"my conscious is clear-"Logan was taking any of this"you can lie to yourself and your minions,you can deny what you have done.but never can you hide what you've done from the eyes of Norte Dame!"

Patton looked up at the statues,he could see their anger at what he had done and shrinked in his saddle.

And for once in his life of power and control,Patton felt a twinge of fear for his immortal soul~

"What must I do,Logan?"Patton asked looking back at him"you must raise the child as your own."Logan said with no hesitation,Patton gaped"you want me to raise this deformed...fine."Patton said"but he must live here."

"Where?"Logan asked"anywhere,lock him up where no one can see."Patton looked up at the bell tower"who knows,maybe this thing will be of use to me."
