"Blasphemy?"Patton nodded"C."Janus stuttered over his words" contrition!"Patton poured their drinks"D."

"Damnation."Patton looked at his book"E."Janus nodded"eternal damnation!"Patton took a drink"very good,F."

"Festival.."Janus mumbled half to himself"what?"Patton asked,Janus tensed"f-forgiveness!"Patton stood up and closed his book"you said festival."

"No!"Janus said standing up,Patton turned away and started walking"you were thinking of going to that festival,weren't you?"Janus followed him.

"I-it's just..you go every year!"they made their way down the steps"I am a public official I must go,but that doesn't mean I like it!"

"Thieves and Gypsy low life's all brought together,it's sickening."Patton spat,Janus flinched as they walked outside.

"I didn't mean to upset you master.."Janus mumbled,Patton sighed and looked back at Janus"Deceit can't you understand that when your heartless mother left you anyone would've drowned you!"Janus looked to the ground then why did she name me if she didn't care?

"And this is my thanks for taking you in and raising you as my son?"Janus scrunched his nose I'd hardly call it raising."I'm sorry.."

Patton put a hand on Janus's shoulder"oh my poor Deceit,you don't know what it's like out there.but I do..oh i do."Patton looked to the horizon.

"The world is cruel,and world is wicked."He turned Janus to him"and I alone you can trust in this whole city!"Janus glanced away and played with his hands nervously"I am your only friend~."

"I the one you keeps you,feeds you,dress you."he held Janus's chin making him look into his light blue eyes"I the one that looks upon you without fear."

Patton then started walking back inside"how can I help you,boy,if you don't stay in here?away in here~."Janus followed him.

"Remember what I taught you Deceit."Patton said"you are deformed."Janus looked to the ground"I am deformed."Patton smiled"and you are ugly."

"And I'm ugly~."Janus should've cried,he definitely did when he was younger.but now these words were stuck in his head,now the casual hello to him.

"And they are crimes in which the world shows little pitty~."Patton looked at the figures on his table"you do not comprehend!"

"You are my one defender..."Janus sighed"out there they will revile you as a monster!"Janus looked at the carving of himself"I am a monster."

"Out there they will scorn and jeer."Patton said with a glare"only a monster.."Janus clutched his figurine"why I invite their calamity and conmentation?stay in here!"

"Be faithful to me."Patton ordered grabbing Janus's chin again with a fake smile"I'm faithful~."Janus mumbled"be grateful."Patton added letting Janus go"I'm grateful~."

Patton took his figurine and looked at it"do as I say..obey~."Patton put the figure on the tower"and stay in here~."Janus and Patton sang in sync.

"You're good to me master."Janus glanced away as Patton walked to the exit"I'm sorry.."Patton stopped"you're forgiven,but remember Deceit:this is your sanctuary."Patton then left.

Janus sighed shakily and looked back to his figurines"sanctuary.."it didn't feel like a sanctuary,but what did Janus know?

"Safe with inside these windows and these parapets of stone,gazing at the people down below me."Janus stood up and looked out the balcony at the festival.

"All my life I watched them as I hide up here alone,watching the histories they show me."Janus turned back to his figurines and sighed sadly.

"Knowing them as they'll never know me."Janus stared at his figurine on the tower"all my life I wondered what it feels to pass a day,"he grabbed it and set it next to a villager.

"Not above them~,but part of them~!"Janus walked out to the balcony again and slid down a beam"and out there~!living in the sun~!"he saw his friends and smiled.

"Give me one day out there,all I ask is one~!"Janus brought them in a side hug"to hold forever!"Janus grabbed a beam and leaned to the side as he watched the people below"out there where they all live on~!"

The gargoyles followed Janus happily"what I'd give,what I'd dare!"he smiled at them"just to live one day out there~!"he belted out looking at the village.

"Our there among the fellers and their wives,through the roofs and gables I can see them!"Janus leaned against the support of the tower"everyday they shout and scold and go about their lives,reckless to how lucky they are to be them!"

Janus continued his way through the tower"if I was~in there skin I'd treasure every instant!"Janus slid down a gargoyle gutter and smiled brightly,ignoring how wet he must be.

"And out there,strolling by the sand~!"Janus took some water in his hands and splashed his face"taste the mourning out there!"Janus stood up,though that should've been a death wish.

"Like ordinary men~!"Janus ran on the roof,shaking off his wetness in the morning heat"who freely walk up out there!"Janus climbed a high part of the roof.

"Just one day and I swear I'll be content~!"Janus then dropped back down,he just couldn't stay still with his excitement.

"With my share~!won't regret,won't resent,won't despair,I won't care!"Janus stood on the edge of the balcony"at least I'd spent one day out there~~~!"Janus sang loud and long,Janus looked down at the people and chuckled"I'm going to do it,just one day."

The gargoyles cheered though they were clearly out of breath following their friend.

(My long awaited part is next!that and hellfire but I'll get to describe Gypsy's and just write about Virgil in general!)
