*Chase's POV*

"Ahhh that was some delicious soup professor, and the tea *mwah* chef's kiss" Everest said as she finished her tea.

Not gonna lie, it was pretty good.

"Hehe, thanks little one. I'm never a good cook so i was glad i was able to please you're taste buds..."

"Dogs have taste buds???" Ryder asked.

"Yea they do, although theirs is a lot weaker than us humans. " The professor explained

*Yes i did searched this one dogs do have taste buds, but they are a lot weaker....*

"That's cool to hear" Ryder said.

"You literally are taking care if 6 pups, yet you don't know that they have taste buds?" Everest said in disbelief.

"Hey! Cut me some slack!" Ryder rebutted.

"Okay okay..." i sighed.

Anyways, now that we've had our time to chat, it's time to get down to bussiness.

"So... Are you ready professor?" Ryder asked.

"Yea... Although it's a really bad memory of mine, it has to be done..." He said as he sits properly.

"Take your time prof., it's okay." I comforted.

"Thanks young one" he said taking a deeo breathe.

He then started to explain:

"We we're once one of the famous researching companies back then. We we're always busy researching new diseases and new discoveries. But then our leader decided to experiment on something more incredible, in his books. And it has something to do with dogs..."

~Flashback~

*Prof. William's POV*

I was looking at some specimens through a scope when our head scientist decided to call all of us to the main room. I'm not sure why he all called us there but he had to have some reason.

Once when we we're all gathered there he spoke:

"Good Afternoon Everyone! I know i called you here in a hurry but i have an announcement to make" he explained

"Announcement?"

"What could it be?"

"Now now everyone let me speak..."

Then silence entered the room.

"Good. Now i want to do something that has been on my mind for days, and it involves dogs.... What if we make the smartest dog on earth?" he said

"The smartest dog?"

"Would that even be possible?"

"How?"

"Now i know you may be confused as to how we can do this... But if we try to put some smart cells on the dog's brain... That may work..."

"That's Impossible!" i screamed

"Oh, and why is that Prof. Williams?" he asked me

"The cells first of all aren't stable and safe so there could be a 83% of the dog being corrupted. And second dog's brains can't handle that much cell capacity!" i explained

"Then we'll just add some capacity rods into it"

"Then you're asking it to be a robot now not a dog!"

"Well whatever cause i will continue this experiment no matter how it takes!" he said crossing his arms

"That does seem like a good idea." one said

"And if we do this right, we will be the first ones to discover it"

"Also there is also the other 17% it may work. So yea we're in!"

"Perfect! Now everyone lets get ready!" the head said

Then everyone cheered around him... Everyone thinks this is a good idea.... That's full of bull....

"You ok prof?" someone asked me

"Oh Ella, yes I'm fine it's just..." i replied back

"No worries Prof. sooner or later they will regret they're desicion" she reassured me

"Yea.. you're right...."

"That's the spirit! Now why don't we go back to the office and get some coffee, shall we?"

"Of course.."

We then went back to my office to grab some coffee...

She's right... They will regret they're desicion sooner or later....

*End of Flashback*

"Wait.... Who's Ella?" Skye asked

"Oh..... She was my lab assistant. And my partner in crime." i replied

"Wait, your a criminal?!" Chase exclaimed

"Hahahaha no Chase, "Partners in Crime" is a metaphor for partners in life!" Ryder explained

"You're right my boy, but the truth is that she's just a friend and an acquitance nothing more, ok?"

"Oh ok..."

"Now let me continue.... After that the research team looked for the perfect specimen or dog. And 2 weeks later, they found one. A German Sheperd to be exact..."

German.... shepherd.....?

"Now this dog was persistent but they we're able to shot it with an obidient shot... And then the experiments began.... They did all sorts of things to that poor fella...
It's brain got surgeoned many times, he received many shots, and was suffering alltogether.... I wish i could've stopped it but.... there's nothing i could've done.... They wouldn't even let me see the dog..."

"That sounds horrible..." Everest said

"It was my dear.... it was...."

"I wish we we're there aswell... Dogs shouldn't even be treated like that in the first place...." Ryder explained

"You're right.... but what's done is done... All we can do is mend it...."

"But what happened to the dog kind sir? Did it became smart like they said or did it became corrupted...?" Chase asked

"Well....."

~Flashback~

"We did it!!!" Someone screamed

"Yes finally!" Another one said

I was woken up by the screams of them... I checked on my clock to see that it's 3:37 A.M in the morning.... They we're really desperate know huh...

I looked outside to see scientists celebrating

"It's 3 in the friggin a.m what are you screaming about?!" i said furiously rubbing my eyes.

"It worked! It worked! The dog finally did it!!" a scientist said

"No way...." i exclaimed

"Look for yourself prof.!" one of them said dragging me to the middle of the room

The dog then did somethings normal dogs can't do like....

•Stand on two legs
•Speak English
•Do Math
•Even eat with the proper untensils

"Wow..." i mumbled

"Now Prof. Williams... You admit this is an great idea?" the head asked

"Maybe..." i replied

"Why?"

"Well.... i don't know..."

"Well you will be believed sooner or later." he said before pushing me out of the room

"Now i gotta go and do some more experiments just go back to sleep now."

He then slams the door on me.

"Ugh..."

"Is anything ok Prof?" someone said

I looked to the back of me to find Ella holding a cup of tea

"Yea, just woke up.... Now how is that medicine going?" i asked

"Well it's still a 50-50 but we can work right now if you can..." she replied

"Well.... i may not be able to go back to sleep anyways so yea we can work on it." i explained

"Yay!" she exclaimed

We then proceed to go to the lab room to stabilize the medicine and also do some tests on it.

"Well it seems like the experiment with the dog worked... So why did it corrupt then?" Everest asked

"Well my dear... You see...."

~Flashback~

It was an ordinary afternoon, me and Ella we're experimenting on some medicine...

"Hey Ella, how's it going with the color?" i asked

"Well its still acidic with a ph level of 9, and it looks.... Kinda purpleish..." she explained

"Oh i see... Well then try to add some more basic elements to it" i said

"You got it Prof.!" she said with an excited tone.

I just laughed it off....

But then...

BANG!

"Kya!"

"Wha... What was that?!" i said

"I don't know prof..." Ella replied

"EVERYONE RUN!!! EXPERIMENT 32.2 HAS GONE BERSERK!!!" someone screamed

"Wha..."

"B-but how?! The dog was just doing fine this morning?!" Ella said

"Ella, you have to run!" i said

"But what about you Professor?!"

"I will have to do something first you go run now!!!"

"But prof-"

Before she could've finish, The berserked dog came running in the hallways with blood in its paws and mouth... And then it grabbed someone by the mouth... Devouring him in cold blood... The man screaming bloody murder... It was a mess...

"Hurry!!"

"Ok.... But promise me we will see each other soon ok prof?!" she asked

"Of course, now go!" i said

She then jumped out of the window breaking the glass in the process.... That girl i swear.... But there's no time to think about that... I gotta go find the head scientist!

I ran outside looking for him screaming his name.... But no answer.... But then i went to a room and saw him laying on the floor...

"Ethan! You ok?" i said getting closer to him.

"Yea... i'm just *cough cough*.... let's go..." he said faintly

"I TOLD YOU THIS WAS A BAD IDEA!!!" i screamed

"I know and it's my fault... but for now getting out of here *cough cough* is the only thing we can do for now..."

"Ugh!! Here let me give you a piggyback!" i said annoyed

He knew it wasn't capable enough to handle such capacity so why??

I pushed these thoughts out of my head for now as i give Ethan a piggyback ride.

We we're careful of course but then when we got to the front exit.... It was being blocked by some debris and rocks...

"Let's go to the emergency exit!" i said

"Ok!" he replied

I then ran for it! As fast as i can...

"I can see the exit!" i exclaimed

"Hurry!" he said

I was almost close...

but....

Something grabbed Ethan out of my back....

"Ethan No!!!" i said

"Hurry and leave befo-"

Before he could even finish... He was already..... Screaming bloody murder.... Seeing it with my own two eyes.... The beserk eating my friend..... i can't believe it.... But i need to still push a little more....

I ran to the exit reaching the knob and twisting it.... Opening the door.... Me running and not looking back....

When i was as far away from the lab as possible i took a breather.... panting and sitting galore.... I could still feel something burning in my back, so i decided to check... What looked like an 12-inch three clawed mark was now on my back.... I decided to wrap my shirt around the mark... but it was still burning.... I was just there resting on a rock..... in the middle of nowhere....

I don't know what to do at this point, after all of what just went down....

I saw a piece of brick plaque that was just a few inches away from me..... I also saw an ancient ruins a few meters away....

So... I decided to grab the plaque and grabbed a rock beside me.... Then i started to write something...

"Whoever is reading this in the future we are giving you a warning. We are expert scientists that experiments on animals and creatures. Recently we did an experiment on a dog and we were gonna turn it to the smartest dog in the world. But things went bad and it had gone berserk and turned into very ferocious and dangerous wolves called "The Fenrir". It had destroyed everything and killed almost everyone but i was able to survive the attack. I am now living peacefully in a different place, but if you wanna know more about the fenrir, here is my fingerprint and name if you wanna find me. Please be carefull."

I then proceed to stamp my fingerprint and name on it... Then i threw it near the entrance of the ancient ruins...

"I hope someone reads it...."

I then started to walk away from the ruins.... And from that day onward i decided to start a new life... A life we're i won't be doing any dangerous experiments nor anything dangerous.....

"I hope... You are.... safe.... my dear Ella...."

~End of Flashback~

*Chase's POV*

I was.... in pure shock......

Everest was covering her muzzle in shock while Ryder was just looking down... Tense filled the air.... Anger.... Sadness.... Fear..... It all hit me.... But.... Why?? why did someone like Ethan do that.....

"Do you perhaps know why it failed...??" Ryder asked

"Well..... Due to overcelling the dog, it seem liked it overdid itself and that it wasn't able to control all of that power..... Making it scatter around it's body and mind losing it's control...." he explained

"I see...."

"Now what??" Everest asked...

"Yea.... What now? We do know these useful info but still.... we don't know when or where the fenrir is now...." I said

"Well i guess the best course of action for now it's to go back to adventure bay and inform the other pups about it...." Ryder said

"Leaving so soon?" Prof. Williams asked

"Yea... Sorry Professor but we still have a mystery to solve...." Ryder replied

"Well it seems like the snow storm stopped.... and also our snow mobile is still outside..." Everest said

"Wait it's outside?" i wondered.

"Mhm, i was able to atleast get it back with a device of mine." The professor answered.

"Thank you so much Professor Williams, we couldn't have gotten a big collection of info without you..." Ryder thanked

"No problem, never had visitors in awhile, so might aswell do what i'm supposed to do!"

"Well, we'll be going now goodbye Professor!" Ryder said as he prepared the snow mobile.

I noticed that the professor was deep in thought, after a few seconds of silence...

"Wait..." The professor said

"Yes?" Ryder asked

"Let me... come with you..." he said

"Prof. are you sure? First we aren't sure if The Fenrir is in Adventure bay. Second we can't risk someone like you getting involved in this..." Ryder asked and explained

"Also, not to be rude but you said it yourself prof., We don't know for sure if the fenrir is still out there" i added

"First, you are kids and pups... It's even more dangerous if you get involved yourselves... and second, i'm sure... It was my team that messed up and since i'm the only one left, it's time to fix what we started years ago..." he answered

He then looked at me.

"Also, didn't you guys said it yourselves that even though it there's a slight chance that it could still exist, we should atleast try to stop it right?" he added

Ryder then thinked for a very long time...

"Well we doo need all the help we can get, plus if we're gonna solve this mystery, we definetly need someone like the professor!" Ryder said

"It's good working with you prof.!" Everest exclaimed.

I simply smiled nonchantly.

"Thanks! I promise i won't let you down!" Professor Williams said like an excited child.

We then all laughed.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing Prof..." Everest replied

"Hahaha ok, well then let me get prepared wait here..." he said

He then went inside some room....

Probably his bedroom....

Once he was ready we went outside and rode the snow mobile back to town where Vlad and Lucas was patiently waiting for us....

This is it....

We are one step closer to the fenrir....

And we have received even more help....
