Jin's POV 🌸

After I won 5 battles in a row with Xavier, it was Akami's turn to battle.

Before Akami was about to battle, he gave me a nervous look before stepping forward.

I rested my hand on Akami's shoulder for just a moment.

Akami looked over at me, with his eyes still filled with nervousness.

I smiled at him.

"Don't worry. You got this...I believe in you." I said.

That calmed Akami down before he smiled at me and nodded.

Xavier tossed a pokéball and called out Blastoise.

"Akami, use Aura Sphere!" I instructed.

Akami nodded and fired an Aura Sphere at Blastoise, hitting it square on.

"Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!" Xavier said.

"Akami, use Bone Rush to block it!" I commanded.

Blastoise fired a Hydro Pump at Akami, and Akami blocked it using his Bone Rush.

But, the force of the Hydro Pump was so strong, it caused Akami to get thrown back by the impact of it.

I heard Akami groan a little after he crashed into the ground, making me worried, as I headed over to him just to make sure that he's alright.

Before I could reach over for his arm and help Akami up, Akami suddenly smacked my hand away from him after Akami mega evolved.

I noticed something wasn't right with Akami though.

He wasn't supposed to mega evolve at all unless I have a Key Stone and Akami has a Lucarionite.

Plus, also including the fact that me and Akami have to have a strong bond as well in order to activate Akami's mega evolution.

"Akami? Are you alright?" I asked after Akami stood up on his own.

Akami didn't reply.

Instead, Akami just letted out an angry yell before he suddenly lashed out at Xavier's Blastoise before I could even do or command Akami to do anything.

"Akami, wait! What are you doing?!?!?! Stop!" I cried out, worriedly.

Xavier noticed that something's wrong with Akami too, because he quickly commanded Blastoise to defend himself and counterattack by any chance he gets.

I tried to get my voice through to Akami but it doesn't seem to be working.

I only have one option left but I don't like it.

I gripped my fists a little before grabbing the pokéball Houndoom was in and calling her out.

Houndoom looked over at me in question of why she was called out until she noticed the same thing that I noticed about Akami.

Something wasn't right with Akami at all.

"Houndoom...I'm gonna need your help with this. I know one of a Lucario's weaknesses is fire...so...I hate asking you to do this because you're tired and still trying to recover...But...Can you knock Akami out for me?" I asked.

Houndoom nodded and focused her attention on Akami as she started to charge up a fire-type attack.

Akami was too focused on Blastoise to notice Houndoom until it was too late.

Houndoom hitted Akami in the chest square on with her attack the moment he turned around and noticed Houndoom.

After that happened, Akami was completely knocked out and reverted back to his normal form while Xavier's Blastoise was returned back into his pokéball so it can rest after what happened.

I thanked Houndoom for her help before returning her back into her pokéball once again and putting her up.

Once I done that, I hurried over to Akami and knelt over next to him.

"Woah. I didn't know that you can mega evolve Akami." I heard Xavier say as he walked over to me.

I shook my head.

"That wasn't mega evolution...I have to have a Key Stone, Akami has to have a Lucarionite, and we have to have a strong bond in order for me to activate and mega evolve Akami." I explained.

Xavier looked at me in shock.

"Wait...If that wasn't mega evolution...Then what the heck was that?" Xavier asked.

"I don't know...But, for now...We can ask Nurse Joy at the Poké Center when we head over." I said as I stood and started to pack my things up.

"Wait...We're heading over to the Poké Center right now???" Xavier questioned as he looked at me in surprise before standing up too.

I nodded my head.

Once I had all of my stuff packed, I picked Akami up and carried him until me and Xavier made it to the Poké Center.
