The birds were singing.
The flowers were blooming.
The sun was beginning to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink as the group ventured deeper into the woods.
The branches of the trees intertwined above them, creating a natural roof that filtered the sunlight, making the atmosphere even more magical and mysterious.
Mark, with the map tightly clutched in his hands, stopped from time to time to check the direction, while the others followed him with enthusiasm and a hint of anxiety.
Then, Jeff suggested to his friends that it would be better to continue the exploration the next day.
Soon the sun would rise.
So, the kids tried to create something resembling camping tents with the sheets.
The youngsters then set up camp in the heart of the forest.
Jeff managed to start a fire with some twigs he had gathered from the ground, and they sat around the fire.
To pass the time before sleeping, Kate had the clever idea of telling a horror story...
The others agreed, so the girl didn’t hesitate any longer and began to tell...

Once upon a time... there was a girl...
This girl, one day, was left home alone by her parents, who had to go to work.
Bored, she decided to take the crystal ball that was in her parents' room.
She tried to see into her future...
But then the ball... TOOK HER FACE!!!!

Charlotte fainted without even hearing the end of the story.
Mark and Jeff were just confused and declared that this was not a horror story.
So, the two came up with one that was much more worthy of its name... <horror>.
