Chapter 10 - "The Tale of the Two kids"
The story of Mark and Jeff had the following title:
"Solitude Breeds Solitude..."
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Luke, who lived in a small village surrounded by a dense forest. He was a curious and adventurous boy, always seeking new discoveries. One day, while exploring the forest, he stumbled upon an old tree with a large opening in its trunk.
Curious, Luke approached and looked inside. Inside, he saw a small wooden chest. With a stroke of luck, he managed to open it and found an ancient medallion. It was beautiful, with a mysterious symbol engraved on it. Luke decided to take it home.
That night, as he was about to fall asleep, he heard a whisper coming from the medallion. "Help me..." said a faint voice. Scared, Luke got up and looked at the medallion. "Who are you?" he asked, trembling.
"My name is Elia," replied the voice. "I have been trapped in this medallion for centuries. Only one with a pure heart can free me."
Luke, struck by the story, decided to help Elia. "What must I do?" he asked.
"You must take me to the place where I was captured," explained Elia. "It is an ancient cave in the forest, hidden among the trees."
The next day, armed with courage, Luke ventured into the forest. After a long journey, he found the cave. He entered and, following Elia's instructions, placed the medallion on a stone in the center of the cave.
Suddenly, a bright light filled the cave, and Elia appeared before him, a young man with a radiant smile. "Thank you, Luke! You have been very brave," he said. "Now I am free and can return to my world."
But as Luke felt happy and proud, he noticed Elia's smile transforming into something sinister. "Wait, what are you doing?" Luke asked, stepping back.
Elia approached, his face now twisted in a malicious expression. "You weren't the only one to free me, Luke. The medallion has a dark power. Now that I am free, I need a new body to live in."
Luke felt his blood run cold. "What do you mean?"
"Your body will be perfect for me," Elia replied, his voice now an unsettling whisper. "Thank you for freeing me. Don't worry, you won't suffer... much."
In an instant, the cave was filled with blinding light, and Luke felt an unstoppable force grabbing him. He tried to scream, but his voice faded as his body began to vanish, replaced by a dark shadow that took hold of him.
When the light faded, there was no longer Luke in the cave.
In his place, Elia, now in a new body, smiled with a triumphant expression. "Finally free," he whispered, as his laughter echoed through the forest, a sound that would send chills down the spine of anyone who heard it.
From that day on, anyone who ventured into the forest heard unsettling whispers and distant laughter, and the medallion remained there, waiting for another innocent soul to deceive.
