The screams and the yells of the two beloved sisters, made all the house members and servants run up to the place they were.

Li Xue went quickly near them, to look as if she was actually trying to help them get out of the pond. They couldn't even sober up to what happened, one kept touching her jewelries making sure they weren't lost meanwhile the other sister had her makeup ruined, that sole reason made her cry a river and fill the pond even more with water than needed.

"I am ruined, I am ruined" kept repeating the Dumber sister.

Li Xue put up a heroic act on and said:"Sister grab my hand I will save you," with a bemused tone. But when she saw that someone was approaching them, she hurriedly put her head under the water and made her face dirty with mud.

As expected, it was their mother that came into the scene which shouted at the servants to go in the pond and help her daughter to get them out, as she took the whip out of her clothes.

She had an oval face with round black eyes, which were bathing in darkness as if she was an evil woman straight out of the Disney Movies... Wait, this is too soft for her; ah never mind. Xue thought.

When the servants saw her taking the whip out, they rushed to Dumb and Dumber's side and managed to pick them up after several tries and fails. It was a hilarious scene, the servants kept biting their lips to prevent themselves from laughing.

It was so funny that Li Xue couldn't catch her breath, but in the other side she couldn't let out any sound out as it can worsen the situation where she could fall into her own trap.

"What happened, why are you in the pond" the woman snapped with a terrifying tone that sent chills down the spine. Yes she is like a witch from horror movies, she just upgraded her game. Xue thought to herself.

Li Xue immediately fell on her knees, "Mother I apologize, I couldn't do anything to prevent them from falling,"she said, as she hung her head low to look more pitiful.

"You pushed us into the water, how could you" Dumber came up to Li Xue and hit her in the head. The hit was so weak as if a fly just flew on her head, she also was stinking so much just like them. Did my sisters actually fell on the pond or the toilet? Li Xue laughed.

"Mother, Li Xue did this to us" Dumb butted in.

Xue raised her head up and started to wipe the fake tears away: "Mother I didn't do anything.I just wanted to look at my reflection in the water too, but when I couldn't see it I tried to get closer and slipped."

The witch sent a powerful blow besides her with her black whip, that made Xue's heart jump a beat because she didn't include this in her plan. Could the situation, go for worse? Li Xue thought.

"If you slipped why weren't in the pond too" the woman said with her shrilling voice. She always put her daughters in a Goddesses levels, meanwhile she thought of her daughter in law as a normal human being.

The woman was just like every mother, she loved and cared for her own children but had jealousy towards her husbands other children.

"Mother I did fall, but only my face fell in the pond. It has scratched my face and neck which is the worst. Luckily, sisters don't have any injuries" Li Xue reassured.

Dumber gave a loud, mockingly laugh:"Of course you couldn't see your reflection, you are too ugly that's why." As she flipped her hair away.

Mother gave the Dumber Sister a menacing look, because of her worthless talk:"Before saying this, go wash up you look like a clown."She ordered.

The Dumb sister on the other side, also started to mock Li Xue and her sister that got banished by their mother, but only to get interrupted by a piercing voice that came in the direction of her Mother :"You too, go wash up!"

The sisters quickly ran away to their rooms, they didn't want to get scolded for another two hours. Mother adjusted her clothes :" I don't want see you near them again, it will ruin their reputation" she ordered with a finger pointed at Li Xue.

Mother Witch shoved a maid away from her path and went to her quarters. She was followed by an amazing amount of servants, in which situation everyone disappeared and no one remained on Li Xue's side.

Li Xue gave a deep sigh, and got up to brush the fine dust off her clothes. She went up to the pond to put more mud on her face to balance the amount she previously put on. This lass skin isn't as good as the book described to be, it was a bit oily. Li Xue thought.

Good thing she noticed the mud before the Mother had arrived so she can escape from her vicious clutches. It also helped her to assist the plan and now also for the goodness of her skin, Li Xue chortled.

She made up a story just to get away from the trouble she wanted to cause to her sisters. But she did not expect for it to work so well; even though the sisters called her ugly that didn't hurt her at all, Li Xue was used to hear these words in her previous life.

When she opened the door to her room, she sprinted and jumped straight on her kingsized bed. Xue remained still to relax and started to meditate with her eyes closed to process all the things that have happened since she woke up in this world and, for the mask to start its magical work.

But something crossed her mind, the author of the book never explained anything about the country, the culture or anything else that was important, besides the main characters and the storyline.

After some minutes passed Li Xue uttered,"Is there any maid outside?" as she fixed the position of her feather pillow.

The door opens and a maid shows up:" Yes my lady, you asked for me?"

"Get me all the books that involve the history of our country, our traditions and the Emperor," Xue inquired.

The maids eyebrows knitted together in a furrow:"Lady I apologize, but you need permission from your father, to take the books you mentioned."

Li Xue raised her eyebrow,"Is that so, huh?", she questioned her.

The maid felt that her Mistress behavior is harsher from her past self, she fell on her knees immediately. Scared not to say anything wrong,"Yes it's true, this servant will never lie to you."

Xue bored her eyes on the maid, she studied her for a bit and responded. "Okay, rise up. Help me wash my face, I have to go visit my father."

After she washed her face, she changed her clothes too and headed out to the Fathers quarters. His manor was filled with endless doors which were made of different materials some were wooden some made out of steel, if Li Xue was alone then she would definitely get lost trying to find him.

Thankfully the maidservant was with her, she was guiding the way to his chambers. The Chambers of Secrets, Li Xue snickered. But Li Xue was still perplexed as why does she need a permission for a simple use of the library, it's not that she would sell the books or eat them.

Hold on, what if he ends up being Tom Riddle and gives me a riddle and ends up being lord Voldemort if I win and he loses, ah this life is too weird; I am being too dramatic. Xue thought, in her world of imagination.

When they arrived in front of his room, there were two male guards who protected the room. They were covered in heavy armor and had long swords in their hands. Li Xue was awestruck, the guards were top notch and not some weaklings. She knew this from the aura that surrounded them, they also looked gigantic compared to her size; Such buffalos, Xue thought.

"I need to see my father," she claimed.

One of the guards gave a slight bow to Xue, while the other one went inside the room to announce her arrival to the Master. When the guard came out he gave a nod and they opened the door together.

"Come in daughter," said the man, who sat on a wooden chair near a desk that was cramped with papers and scrolls. Li Xue supposed that the man who was sitting was the father, just because no else was around. So smart of me, she laughed at herself.

The man looked exhausted and lifeless, but when he saw Li Xue he gave a short smile. He had wrinkles around his eyes, and a beard that was remarkable because it was neither long or neither short and it was bush with a line of white on his left side.

"Greetings Father! Sorry to bother you at this time, I know you have lots of work to do," she bowed.

He signaled her to rise up:"It's alright. What is the reason of your visit?" He asked while he repeatedly tapped his fingers on the table.

Li Xue tensed from the continuous tapping, which was getting on her nerves"I need your permission Father, to get the books from the library."

His eyes widened and his face went blank from surprise, a realization hit up on her as Li Xue was always the dullest kid who did not know how to read or write. She didn't know even how to write her own name to begin with.

"Father I started learning on my own, because want to bring honor to this family and raise our reputation" She sugarcoated, and finished with a smile.

He gave a big laugh,"I am so proud of you, my daughter. I bestow to you a full permission to visit the library anytime you would like," as he stamped on a paper and gave the paper to her.

"Thank you so much father, I am honored to be praised by you." Li Xue beamed with joy, she took the paper and excused herself.

When she left the room, Li Xue jumped up high and did some of her cheerleading moves to celebrate. But she hastened as it could look weird for her, the Young Miss to do this such indecent act in front of the guards. In the moment she started to walk down the stairs, her foot slipped and she ended up falling.

But at that moment, one man that was coming to visit her father saw Li Xue and ran to her. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to his warm embrace.

Xue's face reddened as a tomato when she looked up and saw his handsome face. His eyes were sharp monolids, with a mole under his right eye, he had a button nose and a pair of plump lips that were so kissable. If this was a dream, Li Xue would definitely head in for the kiss, her first kiss without further thinking.

He released Li Xue, after he made sure that he put her back in her place without any injuries,"Are you fine Miss?" he asked with a soft voice.

"I am more than fine, sexy" She bolted out these words without realizing what she said, when it hit her she clasped her mouth; as terror overtook her face.

The man scrunched up his face:" This word is new to me, what does sexy mean?" he questioned.

Oh thank God he doesn't understand! Thank you Ancient China, you saved me from embarrassing myself. Li Xue kept thanking the Gods, that she escaped from the most awkward scenario. She was thinking, what would happen if he knew the word. Probably think her of a cavewoman that is hungry for men.

"I read it in a book, it is a word from a far away country which is to address honorable men," she explained. Yes very honorable from God to look this handsome, she wheezed at her thoughts.

"I see, I am glad that you are alright Miss. Pardon me, I need to go now. Your father is waiting for me" he rubbed his temples with a dashing smile on his face and gave her a slight bow.

"Thank you so much for helping me Sir," she gave a bright smile and bowed to him back.

She proceeded on her way to the library, with a big smile on her face. Li Xue waved her hand away, to signal the maid to leave her on her own. She understood right away, and left the scene.

When Li Xue arrived, she opened the big door which was so old quietly, because she got reminded of a horror movie that started like the exact scene she was seeing. She got ready on a fighting stance, she clenched her fists ready to throw punches at the ghost or zombie.

The library was not spacious at all but yet it was filled dust and spider webs, it surely wasn't used for several years perhaps even decades. There were paintings on the walls, meanwhile the shelves were about to burst with so many books. Various kind of books, from medicinal books to poetries.

But there was an exceptional painting, that caught Li Xue's interest. It had colorful tones and a beautiful background but she could not see it well because it was mostly covered by dust and by a fabric. She extended her hand towards the painting and took the fabric off and blowed the dust off the artwork with the fabric.

It caused her to choke on the years old dust and she started to tear up because it got inside her eyes. But when she glanced up to see the panting, the shock robbed her of speech as she saw that the woman in the painting was her.
