The girl dreamed as if she fell from a high place, her body jolted awake to the unknown room that occupied no one but her. The girl's brain couldn't process the tacky curtains and the wooden furniture that screamed ancient to her.

She checked her clothes at first as she removed the blanket off her body. They were made from silk which felt nice and soft on her skin, that was the only good thing she possessed at the moment.

There weren't many items in the room, it was simple with only a bed, a round green rug and the 'beautiful' orange, greenish curtains that made her stomach sick at the sight of it. The room wasn't well kept. It was unclean, and it looked like a stall.

Her eyes laid upon the yellow stained mirror and she saw herself with a completely different face. In her past self she was more plump and round but now her body is thinner as she has smaller waist and long lean legs.

Her face is oval shaped with charming features but her brown moon crescent eyes didn't have any spark, they were lost in the dullness.

"I really transmigrated into the story." The girl yelped as her eyes examined the surroundings, no less than a minute her legs started to shake. Oh no, wait, she remembered these curtains and this room.

This was the beginning of the book, how it all started. Li Xue was treated like a servant or maybe she was one, and if she indeed was, they would come to discipline her.

She thought to herself, "Author, or whatever that thing was, wanted to test me," a grin plastered over her face.

She could imagine herself standing above everyone else and laughing like manic. The author will be bowing and worshiping her. She has now the power to change the story for better or for worse, who knows maybe she can find new characters for herself and new friends to have great time with.

Sucked into her sweet day dream, she didn't see the servants standing in front of her. The older servant fake coughed in order to wake Li Xue up from the so called drooling slumber, which was not a good sight.

Her eyebrows knitted together as she saw the servants who held blue bowls filled with water and yellow towels in their hands. The bowls of water were meant for her to wash and dry her hands and face.

When she looked at their robes and their weird faces, she started to guess whom they might be. She figured that they were the same servants who put on their nice act on but were Dementors for money as they would do something to Li Xue in the later chapters.

This was a chance for Li Xue to change her personality for better, this way no one would step on her. She has to get stronger because everyone tries to hurt Li Xue whenever they see an opportunity due to her position in the manor as the eldest daughter.

Li Xue cautiously washed her hands in one bowl and in the other bowl she dipped the towel in the water and cleaned her face, neck and arms. When she finished, she gave the servants a shoo shoo with her hand to leave her alone, "Put my clothes on the bed, I will take care of myself now," The new Li Xue demanded.

There was a tensed servant with thick unibrow, she was the one who held the garment of Li Xue. She didn't know where to put the clothes as if she was in doubt if she should listen to her order or not. But in reality, she was asking for validation from the older woman who was standing beside her.

The old woman was the head of the servants, she worked with Li Xue's stepmother and mistreated Li Xue without anyone's knowledge not even the stepmother's because even tho the Mistress hated her, the Mistress would never allow someone to harm her.

"Am I the first Lady or is this older servant the lady of the manor hmm?" Li Xue said nonchalantly as she got up from her bed.

The head servant did not expect her to say that, but she couldn't allow herself to fall in knees in front of the lady she considered weak and useless. The old woman pinched the arm of the unibrow servant and said with irritation, "I beg your pardon my lady, she is a new servant, so she still doesn't know the customs."

The main servant bowed slightly as a head gesture to Li Xue. Little did the servant know that Li Xue was already expecting these sugarcoated words and made a plan in her mind.

She was the eldest daughter and they sent people that didn't know how to do their jobs to serve her. It was the same as saying that they didn't respect her.

"If the girls, who serve me, don't know the customs then I will have to punish you all together," Li Xue grimaced, "Don't let this happen ever again or you will be beaten up or worse than that, killed!" She warned them before she unleashes her evil spirit disguised as naivety. Li Xue was ready to devour them, if they did something wrong to her, especially not these money thirsty servants.

The maids put the garments and the jewelries on Li Xue's bed immediately when they heard her words and bowed down to her for an apology. Filled with resentment, the head of the servants was the last one to bow.

Li Xue once again ordered them to leave her room, but the maids acted so tense and awkward. Li Xue began to strip off her pajamas.

"You enjoy seeing my naked body, huh." She said in a monotonous voice sending chills down their servant's spines.

They ran quickly outdoors before their lady stripped completely. Everything went well except that Li Xue didn't have knowledge on how to dress herself, She has seen a lot of ancient Chinese robes in series and the movies, so she tried with her best to cosplay them.

She sighed and went outside of her room to have some fresh air. The first thing she yearned to do was to look at the so famous chinese gardens which every novel describes a magnificent view. They looked like otherworldly beauties.

She walked for a bit and came to stop when she saw a round table under a wooden gazebo, besides it was resting a small beautiful pond filled with various fishes that were fluttering their tails.

The manor is not that big since Li Xue's father was a commoner, until the time he met Li Xue's mother. When they married, her father obtained a low officer post due to his wife's merits and later on he gets promoted to a better post because he was working many years for the country.

After the death of Li Xue's mother, not even twenty days had passed and he already married several maidens using a justification that he was heartbroken from the death of his wife. And 'thanks' to those actions, Li Xue, his daughter suffered in the story. It was his fault for negligence, but in the end he only cares for status and women nothing else.

Li Xue's peaceful pounder was interrupted by her two stepsisters. One of them was covered from head to toe with jewelries and the other was covered in the stepmother's make up. They are young ladies at the age of thirteen, they were famous through the manor as the Dumb and Dumber for their stupidity and slow wit.

"Only if they knew how harsh the world was towards girls," Li Xue muttered under her breath.

"Look who is here, older sister. I have not seen you in the garden since that day when we gathered with our close relatives" said the Dumber sister with her shrilled voice.

"No wonder she has gotten uglier, look at the wrinkles and the scars," Dumb added while locking her arms.

In the book, it said that at that gathering of relatives and nobles Li Xue's sisters paid few servants to cut Li Xue's robes from behind and write 'fool' on them. When Li Xue went to meet the cousins, whoever seen her back had laughed, they all mocked her with their harsh words.

And when the original Li Xue tried to run away from that place, one of the sisters tripped her while the other one poured water on her with an excuse that she also tripped. That night Li Xue cried so hard for hours long that her eyes became so swollen, she couldn't see well.

The new Li Xue tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, "My my if this isn't dumb and dumber, you sure do live up to your rumors," with a smirk plastered on her face.

Li Xue believed that they need to get the taste of their own medicine. She isn't the old Li Xue anymore, she will return the bad things they have done with no remorse or whatsoever.

Everything has its price, no one can escape from the hands of karma.

"What did you say?" Dumb flinched.

An idea rushed through Li Xue's mind, she was so happy that she went to cloud nine, "Ah I am too cunning for this, I should praise myself for reading too much novels." She thought to herself.

"Sisters you look so beautiful today, like fairies that people have been talking about for centuries, but I remember they said that true beauties face glimmers when looking at her reflection on the pond," Li Xue appeased them with a lie after a lie.

"What, is that true, sister?" Dumber asked, her mouth corners quirked up as she got excited. The sisters didn't know much of the real world, but they loved to fantasize about many things such as magical creatures, them being beautiful, and gossiping with cousins behind everyones back.

"My goodness, you didn't know that sister," the Dumb sister replied as if she really knew this, but this was another act of her trying to sound smart and knowledgeable. She was the biggest liar in the city, if Dumb sister heard of any wise or interesting things that she didn't know she would always say that she knew from long time ago.

Li Xue couldn't hold her laughter, but she held back as she tried to bite her lips, she almost bleed herself to death from doing so. The sisters were funnier than she imagined, "If my life in this world goes like this, it's going to be fun," she thought.

Both sisters had a match of stare down and held out their tongue to each other, before they went near the pond to sit and stare at their reflection.

Li Xue sneered, "Sisters, I will come and look too."

Before they could shriek from happiness that they saw their reflection Li Xue pushed them with all her strength into the pond.
