I was told that I'd get a wish

If I made a thousand cranes

So I sat down and made hundreds

Within a couple days

And I thought "What could I wish for?"

Hidden treasure? Brand new toys?

I could wish away the sad things

And then trade them all for joys!

Or maybe I could get a boat

And sail the seven seas

I could always wish for wishes

And get whatever I please!

But I thought real hard

and made my wish,

I hope that it comes true.

Because I used my wish to ask

For one more day with you.
