I wish I was a butterfly

But I'm stuck here in the dirt

I wish I was up in the clouds

Instead of down here with the worms

Butterflies can see the world

And all it has to offer

While I'm stuck down here in the grass

With the beetles and grasshoppers

And butterflies can see it all

The world, so big and bright

Instead I'm stuck under the trees

I barely see daylight

I wish I had some wings to fly

Flying would be such a thriller

But instead I'm stuck here on the ground

As a lowly caterpillar
