Special Christmas Chapter

Hi everyone. So A Christmas Carol has always been one of my favorite Christmas stories. So I thought why not use that to model one of the chapters off of. This chapter is going to be a what if. What if they hadn't made up and instead the princesses and Revance had ran away? Again. The princes turn sour and cold. They try to be true princes on official duties but they aren't much better. The kings and queens have died and the princes are now kings. They did all get married but they still have a cold heart. So you know the story. They will be visited by three ghosts, well technically four, and realize that maybe it's time to make up with their sisters. Their sisters are married to Revance of course and have children. The kids are still young. Let's go on an adventure and see what would have happened if the princes hadn't made up with their sisters. I'm gonna switch from Edward and Sophie. But most of the story will be in Edward's pov.

Third person pov
The old kings and queens were dead to begin with. Four years have passed since the sisters and brothers have last met. Four years since the relationship soured even more. It was close to Christmas and the boys had soured. They had become cold like ice. Their hearts had hardened.

Edward pov
It's been ten years since we lost our sisters again. It was Christmas time but we all had official duties. All our duties, as usual, were together. Our sisters had left ten years ago with their boyfriends. They refused to acknowledge us as family and we gave up trying to mend the fence.

I was married. As were all the princes. My wife Katherine tried to make things as peaceful and joyful as she could. The last time we saw our sisters was four years ago when my parents, the last of the kings and queens of old, died. All of us were now kings.

Flashback
Louis had gone to pick up my twin and the others. Once they arrived I went out to greet them. The other princes were there but were hiding from their sisters. Katherine had come out with me. We had just announced our engagement last year.

As soon as Kat saw them come out she went over.
" Hi. You must be Sophie. I'm so glad to finally meet you. I'm Katherine. I'm Ed's fiancé."
" Nice to meet you Katherine." My twin said though I knew her smile wasn't fully there. Suddenly two little bodies came and clung to my twin. She smiled, for real this time, and bent down.
" It's okay. This is Katherine. Can you say hello?" The boy and girl said hello.
" This is Emiko and Hitoshi." Katherine bent down.
" It's nice to meet you both. I hope you enjoy your stay here." They both said thank you timidly. Sophie looked at me and nodded her head. I nodded in greeting. Suddenly my niece and nephew noticed me. They ran up to me. Emiko spoke.
" You must be Uncle Edward. You look just like mom." I bent down and spoke.
"It's nice to meet you both. Though it would have been nicer if I had known about you when you were born." Sophie glared at me.
" As I recall dear brother you and the other princes made it clear that you didn't want anything to do with us." I stood up.
" Not the way I remember sister." We glared at each other. Finally she huffed and rolled her eyes. Louis came up and offered to show everyone in side. Sophie nodded and we all went inside.

I went to my office where I knew the other princes were hiding. Wilfred spoke up.
" Well?"
" She's as temperamental as ever. And apparently she and that boy have two children. Twins. A boy and girl."
" Children?" Glenn asked. I nodded my head. Suddenly my door opened and two small heads poked in.
" We're sorry. We got lost. We're looking for the door to outside." I smiled slightly.
" It's fine. Come in." My niece and nephew came in.
" These are the other kings. Glenn. Joshua. Keith. Wilfred. Roberto."
" We know. Mom has pictures of all of you when you were little. Plus you're the brothers of our aunts." Emiko said. She was definitely a miniature version of her mother. Sophie came in suddenly.
" Emiko. Hitoshi. What did I tell you about wondering on your own?"
" Sorry mom." They ran up to her and hugged her. She bent down and spoke.
" It's fine. Next time you want to go somewhere let either your father or I or one of your aunts know."
" Well look at that. The little princess has grown up." Sophie glared at Joshua.
" Honestly. I'm surprised that you matured enough to have kids." Keith said. I sighed. This wasn't going to end well. Just then my brother in law came in. He took one look and went up to Sophie trying to calm her down. It was too late however.
" Children. Go back to our room. Now." After the children left my sister spoke.
" Do not ever do that in front of my children again. I do not care how pissed you are. You will never disrespect me like that in front of my children. We came here because mother and father died. After the funeral we're leaving. Don't contact us again. Ever." I stood up.
"Remember where you are sister."
" How cute. You're chiding me and not them. You know what, I'm through with all of you. I came here out of respect. Do not lecture me Edward. Not after everything you and the others did to us. I don't know why I bothered to come back. I was stupid I guess." She stormed out with Takashi following behind.

The funeral came and went. Things remained awkward and true to her word, we never heard from Sophie or the others again. They moved somewhere else and changed their numbers.
End of flashback

Things had slowly gotten worse after that incident.

There was a knock on my door.
" Come in." Louis came in and bowed.
"Your majesty. The others are here." I nodded.
" Very well let them in." He bowed and soon the other kings came in. We greeted each other and then got to work.

That night we all shared a room for once. Katherine and the other girls were sharing a room. I had fallen asleep when I was woken by a noise. I opened my eyes to see the others had woken up also. We looked around.
" What was that?" Roberto asked.
" I don't know." Suddenly my door opened with force. I looked to see mom standing there.
" Mom?" I said shocked. She looked at all of us.
" Look at you all. Here without the family being complete."
" Mom. You know very well the girls hate us. Besides you all are the ones who began this in the first place."
" I know that Edward. And look what happened. We should have talked with your sisters. Listened to them. Now I'm forced to stay on the earth as a ghost because of my mistake. I've seen your sister and the life she lives because of my bad decisions. I'm forced to watch my only daughter suffer from a hole in her heart because of what I did. I've watched her children growing up without knowing their mother's family. Always asking about them. We made a mistake but so have each of you. You all could have tried to mend the tear. But you made it worse. I leave you with this warning. Before the clock strikes five you will be visited by three spirits. Listen to them and learn." She disappeared shortly after that. We stood still and then simultaneously sighed.
" Let's go back to sleep." Wilfred said. I nodded my head. We all went back to sleep.

We were again awoken by a bell this time tolling midnight. Suddenly my room was filled with light. A young child came in.
" Hello. I am the ghost of Christmas past. I've come to get all of you."
"This has to be a dream." Keith said.
" It's not. We don't have much time. I need to show you your past. Come." The window opened.
" Are you crazy? We'll fall." Glenn said.
" Then with a touch of my hand you shall be able to fly." She put her small hand on each of us and we began to float. We flashed forward.

Soon we landed in a hallway of Nobel Michael Palace. A group of twelve children came rushing past. Just as I thought they were going to run into us they rushed past us.
" These are merely shadows of the past. They can neither hear nor see you." The little ghost told us. I recognized the children immediately. It was us when we were younger. A girl with silver hair and purple eyes giggled and ran away from a young boy who looked like her.
" Can't catch me Ed."
"Yes I can Phie."
" Nu uh." I smiled to see this scene. A young girl and boy who had to have been about four came running up and hid behind the silver haired girl.
" The monster is gonna get us." The little girl cried. A young boy with blond hair and blue eyes came running up. The silver haired girl stood with her arms spread out.
" Monster be gone. Chase these children no more." The blond haired boy pretended to die. The two young ones lept for joy. I laughed.
"You recognize this scene?"
" Of course. This is when we were younger. That was one of the best Christmas' we had." Suddenly some adults came up.
" Sophie. Edward. Come here please." A young woman said.
" Yes mother." The silver haired children ran to her. She hugged them and then fixed Sophie's hair.
" It's time to move to the next Christmas." The ghost said.

The scene changed to the palace of Charles. We came into a room where a group of six girls were standing around a piano. A silver haired girl was playing and singing with others. I smiled sadly. This was the last Christmas we had together before they disappeared the first time. The door opened to reveal six boys come in. A silver haired young man came up and pulled out a violin. Soon the girl and boy were playing a duet, while the girl sang. Once they were done everyone clapped.
See video above.
" That was amazing as always." A young Wilfred said.
" You two are amazing when you do duets. Phie has an amazing voice."
" Thanks Nai."
" Hey. It's almost time to go to sleep. It's getting late." A young Roberto said.
" Yeah. Let's go. Come on." A young Caroline and Roberto ran out. All the others shared an amused look.
" Jeez. Will they ever grow up?" A young Scarlett asked.
" Don't think so." A young Joshua said. Everyone left the room. I went over to the piano and ran my fingers over the top of it. The spirit spoke.
" There are two more Christmases to show you. Christmases involving your sisters. Quite a bit later."
" Please don't show us that Christmas. Please don't torture us."

Despite my pleas the scene changed again. This time in a big room in the Charles palace. The door opened and revealed a 23 year old Sophie.

This was the first and last Christmas we ever had together after we found the girls.

She walked over to the piano and began playing a song. She sang but soon stopped as tears were streaming down her face.

The door opened again and this time Takashi was there. He went over and sat on the piano bench with her and held her close. She cried into his chest.
"I just don't get it. I understand they missed us but that was going too far."
" At least we're together right now."
" It's not enough Taka. I don't think I can stay any longer in this dungeon." He stroked her hair for a bit. Then he lifted her chin up and wiped away her tears.
" Then let's run away together. Let's leave and go back to Japan. We can leave soon. Let's say we're going back to the hotel and then leave. We can convince the others to come also."
"That's quite bold. But yes. I'll go anywhere with you." The door opened a third time to reveal my younger self.
" Phie. Come back. You didn't need to storm out like that."
" Didn't need to after I was insulted? After my friends and our boyfriends were insulted? I think it was more then necessary Edward." The others had come in by this point.
" What is your problem?! I have tried being patient but enough is enough!! You are not a child!!! Start making decisions on your own!!!!" Sophie's expression grew dark. The room grew deadly quite as everyone realized just what the young boy had implied.
" Make my own decision? Fine here it is. I hate you Edward Levaincois. You are rude to me for no reason at all. I know I ran away but still. It was for the better. I hate you and everything you stand for. Here is my decision. I never want to see you or the others again. I will have nothing to do with the royal family anymore. I'm leaving. End of discussion." She stormed out. Takashi stood up.
" I'll go get her." Comments were made and it ended with the other girls leaving just as angry.
" Please take us back. We can't handle this anymore." Roberto said begging. We all had tears streaming down our face by now.
" One more scene. Then we're done."

The scene changed to an unfamiliar area. I looked to see Takashi and Sophie standing by a frozen river.
" Spirit. When is this?" I asked.
" It is two years after all of you last saw your sisters for the holidays." I went closer. I heard Takashi speak.
" Sophie. I know it's early but, I want to give you a early Christmas present. Close your eyes." She did so and he got down on one knee and pulled out a box.
" Sophie open your eyes." She did and looked shocked.
" I love everything about you. I have since the moment we met. You are special to me. I love you not as a princess but as you. The kind, funny, sarcastic, and gentle girl that I met and fell in love with. Would you marry me?" She nodded her head while tears were pouring down her face.
" Yes. Yes I will marry you Taka. I love you." He put the ring on her finger and then picked her up and twirled her around. Soon the girls and other members of Revance came out excited. They all laughed and talked for a while. I turned away from the scene.
" No more. Take us back. I don't wish to see anymore."

The scene faded and we were back in the present. All too soon the bell tolled two. This time the hallway was lit. We went out and entered the great hall. We saw a young man standing there.
" Good. You all are here. I'm the ghost of Christmas present. Now. Time to show you a few things."

The scene changed to a mansion. We were in the hallway when children came running. I was shocked. Two of the children were Emiko and Hitoshi. A voice called out.
" Children. Stop running." I looked to see a very pregnant Sophie scolding the children.
" Sorry Aunt Sophie." A young child who was a small version of Naomi said.
" It's fine Elizabeth. Just be careful. You wouldn't want your dads fussing at you all again. They are working on a surprise for you all." They nodded and went to what I assumed was the living room. I heard someone chuckle.
" They remind me of us when we were younger."
" That is putting it lightly Nai."
" Oh come on we weren't that bad." A new voice said.
" Maybe we weren't. But you were Caroline." A fourth voice said. We looked to see the other girls standing there. Sophie laughed.
" We all were pretty bad. We used to pull so many pranks and get into so much trouble."
" True. Remember that one year we had a snow ball fight and all ended up with colds. I swear we were scolded for two hours." Scarlett said.
" I remember the boys sneaking into our rooms to curl up in our beds." Everyone grew silent after Audriana said that.
" I wonder how they are?" Aurora said. Sophie sighed.
" What does it matter? They made their position pretty clear. They've probably grown more disagreeable."
" True. Though there wasn't much more room for them to grow." Scarlett said.
" Hmph. They are spoiled brats. Look at us. We learned to do things everyday people do. We rose to the top and still chose to do things on our own. They couldn't handle one day on their own. I bet they don't even know how to cook or care to learn how. I can't believe it's been eight years since we moved to the states." Naomi said.
" Let's stop this depressing talk. I better go get the boys before they work themselves to exhaustion." Sophie said.
" Good luck."

The scene changed to a recording room. Revance was there working on music. The door opened to reveal Sophie.
" Okay. Enough is enough. Come on. Your children need someone to entertain them."
" When did they become our children?" Takashi asked.
" About thirty minutes ago when they decided they were bored. Now go."
" We just need to....."
" Oh no you don't. No we just need to. Come now Taka. Or you'll find out the joy of being couched on Christmas Eve."
" Fine. I'm coming." Sophie went over and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
" The rest of you also before the girls decide to come down here."
" We're on our way princess." Kyohei said.
" Good."

The scene changed back to the living room. Everyone was resting. Sophie had her feet in Takashi's lap.
" Mom. Can you all sing something? Please." Emiko said. Sophie chuckled.
" Sure." Soon the room was filled with singing.
" Time for another scene."

The area changed to the castle's kitchen. Our wives were there.
" Do you think they'll like this?" Glenn's wife asked.
" I hope so. They're still all asleep." Wilfred's wife answered. Katherine spoke up.
" Sophie sent me these recipes. Said they used to do these when they were children."
"I wish we could have met her and the other girls." Joshua's wife said.
" Well maybe you can see them. I can connect to Skype and see if they are on." Katherine wiped her hands and then got her laptop ready. Soon my twin answered.
" Hello Katherine. Everything okay?"
" Yep. The others wanted to meet you and the girls." I heard Sophie laugh.
" Give me a minute to get the others." She called for the girls. Soon our wives and sisters were chatting. After a while Sophie sighed.
" I better go. The kids are starting to get noisy. Bye. It was nice meeting all of you." After she signed off our wives went back to baking.
" They really are amazing. Too bad the boys won't try to mend things with them." Roberto's wife said.
" It is what it is. We can't change it." Katherine said sighing.

" Spirit. Why show us this?"
" If things continue then I sense hatred between a new generation. I sense hearts never fully repaired. I sense a empty throne next to each of you in the future. The ones you opened your hearts to dead from stress and sorrow. That is what the future holds. A family broken forever." We turned to see the young man had turned old.
" This can't be spirit. Surely you're wrong." I said. He shook his head.
" I am not. This is your future if things continue without being changed."

All too soon the scene changed and we were back in my room. Just then the clock struck four. A cold wind blew in. A figure with a black hooded cloak came in.
" Are you the third spirit?" Roberto asked. The figure nodded it's head. Then motioned for us to follow.

The scene changed to a young lady, a young man, and young boy. They were standing in the lobby of a hospital.
" Sis. Will mom be okay?"
" I don't know John. I don't know."
" But she has to be okay. She can't die. It's almost Christmas." Suddenly a voice called out.
" Emi. We came as fast as we could." We all looked to to see a group of young people coming down the hallway. The girl stood and I realized it was my niece Emiko.
" Hey Liz. We haven't heard anything yet."
" How could this happen? Why did she end up like this?"
" I don't know. But I blame our bastard uncles. They always cause our parents stress. No matter what all they want to do is nothing but cause our moms misery." I heard laughter.
" Well that's not very nice to say about family." I looked to see a group of six young men who looked like us when we were younger.
"Go to hell Maximilian. We don't need you all here."
" Ah come on cousin. We just came to see our Aunt in her last moments."
" Bastard." Just as a argument was to break out a doctor came out of a room.
" Miss Emiko. I'm sorry but there's nothing left we can do. If you want to say goodbye now is the time." The doctor left.
" Aw too bad. Looks like dear Aunt Sophie is dead. And so close to Christmas." There was a resounding pop as Emiko slapped Maximilian.
" Get the hell out. Tell your bastard of a father that I hope he is happy. He killed his sister. Never come near us again. I hate you all wih every ounce of my heart." The six boys left. I was shocked. These were our children. They hated our sisters' children and vice versa. Just like the second spirit had said.

Then the scene began fading. It faded to what should have been Christmas day. But our nieces and nephews were silent. No one spoke. The young boy named John came up and curled against Emiko. He spoke.
" Why did this happen? Why did our uncles hate our moms so much?" Emiko spoke.
" They weren't our uncles. Uncle Ryo, Uncle Kyohei, Uncle Nagito, and Uncle Kota were our uncles. They cared about us. Those other men didn't. They never cared about us."
" I heard Edward died just a few days after Aunt Sophie." Emiko nodded in response to what Izabella had said.
" In the end that was the one thing they shared in common."

The scene changed one last time to a row of tombs. We looked to see each of our names written on one tomb each. On each tomb the word brother wasn't there.
"This can't be. This can't be our future. The future of our children. Something is wrong." The ghost shook it's head. It was telling us nothing was wrong. I fell to my knees. This had to be wrong. Slowly everything faded around us.

We all woke with a start.
" Jeez. What a dream?" Joshua said.
" It wasn't a dream. It was our future. We need to fix it." Roberto said. We all nodded. I called Louis in.
" Louis. Find out where my sister lives and get the plane ready. We need to see them."
" Right away your majesty."
" Louis. Make sure we have enough room for all of us. The girls will be coming with us. As will all of you butlers."
"Yes sir." After he left we went to the girls room.

I knocked on the door and it was opened. Katherine saw me and looked shocked.
" You're up early. All of you are. Is everything okay?" I pulled her to me.
" Yes. Everything is fine. What do you say my little flower to spending Christmas away?"
" And where would we be going?"
" To where Sophie is. It's time I mend things with her." She looked shocked.
" Are you sure Ed?"
" Positive. It's been far too long." Katherine threw her arms around me and gave me a kiss.
" Thank you my love. This is best present I could have asked for." I kissed her back and then spoke.
" Go pack. We'll need to leave soon." She nodded and went back into her room. Louis came up.
" I found where they all live. They live in a house together. Shall I let them know we are coming?"
" No. Let's make it a surprise."
" Yes your majesty."

Quite a bit later our plane landed. We got off and took a few cars to the house.

When we pulled in Katherine and I got out and went to the doorbell. It opened to reveal a young girl who looked like Naomi.
" Hello. Is Sophie home?"
" Aunt Sophie!"
" Nani? Nani Izabella? Nani ka mondaide mo arimasu ka?" A voice called out. (What? What Izabella? What is the matter?)
" Darekaga anata o mi ni kite imasu!!" (Someone is here to see you!!)
" Watashi wa sugu soko ni imasu. Soshite, nando mo sakebanai yō ni nankai mo iwanakereba naranai nodesu ka?" ( I will be right there. And how many times do I have to tell you all to not yell?)
" Gomen Aunt Sophie." I heard a chuckle then footsteps.
" Now what is it Izabella?" The girl pointed to us. Sophie froze at seeing us.
" Izabella. Go get your Uncle Takashi now. Tell him it's urgent."
" Yes ma'am." After she left Sophie sighed.
" I see you brought the cavalry. Get in here before you let any more cold in." We all came in.

Sophie led us to the living room. We stood awkwardly while Sophie went into the kitchen. We suddenly heard shouting.
" What the hell do you mean they are here?!"
" Scarlett. Please watch your language when there are children close."
" I don't care!! We haven't seen them in years and they just decide to show up?! Let me go!!! I'm gonna give them a piece of my mind!!!!!"
" Oh no you're not! Scarlet sit down now!!" I heard Naomi shout. I heard the door open and Sophie came in.
" Please sit down." Just then I heard Takashi.
" Totemo kinkyū no purinsesu to wa nanidesu ka?" ( What is so urgent princess?)
" Koko ni haitte kudasai." (Just get in here please.)
" Ima okonatteru." (I'm coming.) He came in. When he saw us he froze.
" What are they doing here?"
" And how would I know Taka?"
" Point taken." Sophie turned to us.
" Why did you all come?" I stood up and went over.
" Look Sophie. I'm extremely sorry for how I've treated you these past ten years. I guess I was just angry that you didn't need me anymore. I was upset that you were so willing to give everything up for a guy. I'm sorry. Think we can start over?" She watched me for a minute then sighed.
" I suppose since it's Christmas that it wouldn't hurt to have a test run. After all you all need to get to know your nieces and nephews. Which reminds me. Taka, could you please get your children down here?"
" And since when are they my children?"
" Since about twenty minutes ago when they decided to go wild. Now go get them."
" Fine princess." Sophie snickered. I smiled at this exchange.

Sophie pov
I saw Ed smiling and I laughed. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have Christmas with everyone. I stood up.
" Well. I better go get the other girls before they start a fight." I went and got the girls. When we entered again Revance was there glaring at the princes and Taka was sitting on the couch. I went over and put my feet up. Taka smiled and kept his hands on my hands. Emiko and Hitoshi were busy bugging Ed and Louis. I shook my head.
"Alright you two. That's enough. And boys stop glaring at each other." Emiko came over to me and hugged me. Then she spoke to my belly.

Taka and I were expecting our third child soon.

" Hi little brother." I heard snickers and turned my glare to Revance. Taka handed me a few pillows and I chucked them at Iori and Nagito. They both hit their targets.
" Hey!" Nagito protested.
" You deserved that." They rolled their eyes at me. The girls chuckled.
" At least it stopped them from glaring." Audri said.
" That was kinda my point."
" Hey mom. Can you all sing some songs? Please?" I shook my head at my daughter.
" Deal." We ended up singing.

Third person pov
From that day on the relationship repaired itself. The princesses even agreed to move in to the castles. They ended up helping their brothers and they along with their husbands became queens and kings, ruling next to their brothers and sisters in law. Their children became princes and princesses. And Ed from that day on was a wonderful uncle to his sister's children.

Okay everyone. There is the Christmas chapter for this story. I'm going to try to do one for most of my stories. Bye.
