It's been a couple days since that night with Legolas. His clothes are in her room and his voice is a familiar sound. Dalila woke up that morning with him by her side.
"Morning love." He smiled at her.
"Good morning Legolas."
"Have you made up your mind about our courtship?" He asked her.
"I'll tell you tonight. Promise."
"Tonight it is. I have to go now." He kissed her. He got up and put his clothes on and left.

"Thanks for putting the towel over my cage again. Next time supply me with some ear muffs." Astrid said from her cage. Dalila chuckled.
"You know I only cover you up because you stare at him. He finds it awkward."
"Who wouldn't stare at him?!"
"I don't know. He's blessed."

Dalila put her clothes on and took the towel off of Astrid's cage.
"Did you sleep well?" Dalila asked her.
"Just as much as you did." Dalila laughed. She heard someone clear their throat. She recognized it. She froze.
"Dalila? Please look at me." The voice begged. Dalila slowly turned around.
"Dalila I'm sorry. Please listen to me and understand." He begged.
"No Fili there's nothing to understand. I'm so tired of being here. Suppressed by all my childish fears. And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave. 'Cause your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone. These wounds won't seem to heal. This pain is just too real.
There's just too much that time cannot erase." She started to hyperventilate.
"Dalila listen." Fili pleaded her and walked closer.

"When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears. When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears. And I held your hand through all of these years. But you still have all of me. You used to captivate me by your resonating light. Now I'm bound by the life you left behind.
Your face-it haunts my once pleasant dreams.
Your voice-it chased away all the sanity in me. I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone. But though you're still with me. I've been alone all along." She backed away from him.
"Dalila I'm trying to explain. Listen." Fili grabbed her arm.
"Explain what?"
"Explain that my Uncle wrote that letter. That he made an agreement with Thranduil. I'm not marrying Chala. I don't love her. I love you, more than anything. You're my one. Please forgive me."

Dalila looked in his eyes and saw sincerity.
"I might regret this later but.." She ran to him and hugged him. She buried her face in his furry cloak. She started to cry.
"I love you too." She said. Fili held her tight.

That day Dalila stayed in her room with him. They didn't do anything inappropriate. They just laid on her bed and held each other close.
"It's getting late. They'll come looking for me soon."
"I know. I need to leave. But I don't won't to." Fili sighed.
"I don't want you to leave either."

There was a knock at her door.
"Dalila?"
"Who is it?" Dalila ask.
"Legolas. May I come in?"
"Umm no. Nows not the best time. I'm not decent."
"Oh. I was just wondering if you thought about my offer?" He ask. Fili looks at her confused.
"I still need more time."
"Like I said before, I'll give you all the time in the world. Goodnight Dalila. Sleep well."
"Goodnight Legolas."
"What offer?" Fili asked.
"He um he asked me to court him."
"What did you say?"
"I haven't responded."
"You're not thinking about it are you?"
"Well I was. I was thinking about it quite hard. You can't blame me. I thought you used me and never loved me. I was heart broken and he was there."
"I'm sorry. I swear to you I would never use you. When I saw you dancing with him, I lost it. Please don't court him. I need you Dalila. I really do."
"Alright. But promise me you won't marry Chala."
"You're kidding? What would I want with her when I have you?" He smirked and kissed her. She smiled and kissed him back.

"Wait? What do you mean when you saw us dancing?" She asked.
"Umm.. well...the other day I sent Kili to come check on you. I decided to come too. We were in the brush and I saw you dancing with him. I stormed off. I was mad and hurt. I thought you left me for him."
"No. He just asked me to dance. I was thinking of dancing with you. I guess we both broke each others heart. I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry. Let's forget and move on from here. We'll trust each other and be loyal. We'll talk to each other first instead of just believing what we hear." Fili put his hands on her hips.
"From this point on." Dalila smiled.
"Goodnight my love. I'll be back." Fili kissed her.
"Goodnight. Be safe. Take care of your brother. And forgive your Uncle."
"You're too nice. But I will." He climbed down the balcony. Dalila watched him till he was out of sight.

"I liked how you added the 'from this point on'. You didn't tell him you banged the prince elf." Astrid snickered.
"I will. I just didn't think tonight was the time." Dalila shrugged.
"But you will tell him?"
"Yes."
