Chapter 48
Of course the journey to Mirkwood would take a couple of days. So while Fili was making the journey, Dalila was having a difficult time. Legolas was very persistent.
"Dalila, I'm going back home today. I have something for you." Bofur said.
"What is it?" She went to him. He pulled out a ring shaped like a crown and put it on her ring finger.
"It's beautiful."
"It was your mother's. This ring has been in your family for generations. your mother's father gave it to her and his mother's father gave it to her and so on. Your great-great-great-great grandfather made it. Everything it was made from came from the mines of Erebor. He made it for his daughter. It meant that to him she will always be a princess. That she was his princess. And that she was just as good as a princess. Since then every father has given it to their daughter. Anila was so excited to pass it on to you. I was heart broken when I couldn't find it. But I found it the other night and I want you to have it now. I think you need it now. When you see it remember these things, you'll always be my princess, you're just as good as any princess, and no matter what happens keep your head up and straighten your crown."
"Thank you Bofur. I really do need this. It's already very special and dear to me. I'll take good care of it. Promise."
"I know you will. I better get going. Be careful my dear."
"I will. You be careful yourself." She bid him farewell. He left for the Blue Mountains.
That night there was a party. Dalila sat at the table by herself and watched the elves have fun. Legolas came and sat by her.
"Let's get out of here. Away from the crowd." He offered. She nodded and followed him to his chambers. His chambers were twice the size as hers. Of course he was the prince. They sat on the bed beside each other. Dalila looked into his eyes and kissed him passionately. It didn't feel right but she kept going.
"No one has to know what we do." She told him.
"Not a soul." His hands were in his hair. Their clothes were on the floor. She thought Mahal can't help her now. Nothing last forever but this is getting good now.
"He's do tall and handsome as hell. He's so bad but he does it so well. I can see the end as it begins. And he's not Fili...quit thinking about him!" Dalila thought to herself.
"Are you sure?" He asked her.
"My one condition is, say you'll remember me standing in a nice dress staring at the sunset. Red lips and rosey cheeks. Say you'll see me again, even if it's just in your wildest dreams."
"I promise." He kissed her. He eased his way into her. He could tell she'd never been this far before. He went slow and easy.
The night went on and they did their thing. Dalila felt....ashamed and violated. She felt like she had done Fili wrong. Like she did herself wrong. But she didn't do Fili wrong, he did her wrong. But maybe she did herself wrong. Legolas was asleep so she eased her way out of his bed and put her clothes back on and went to her chambers. She was sore. She readied herself for bed. Astrid was waiting for her.
"You had an eventful night with the Prince did you?" Astrid joked.
"Yes. But please don't tell a soul." She begged.
"My beak is sealed." Astrid gave Dalila her word.
"Thank you. I feel awful. I still have my braids in Fili gave me and his beads. And I slept with another."
"That's understandable. But you had to get your mind off of him some of. Don't feel to awful bad. But tell me...how was the prince?"
"Astrid!....The prince was..very blessed. And I am very sore." Dalila blushed.
"I knew it! Go to bed now. You need your rest. You never know what tomorrow brings." Astrid told her.
