That night they made camp. Oin wrapped Dalila's stomach to help it heal.
"It's like they targeted her stomach." Fili sighed.
"There had to be a reason." Thorin said.
"The reason being because they're orcs!" Bofur said while fixing Dalila a bowl of food.

"Uncle....I think I know why." Kili said.
"Go ahead and tell us...unless it's stupid." Thorin said.
"Fine. If you think everything I say is stupid then I just won't say anything."
"I didn't mean it like that." Thorin tried to explain.
"Yes you did."
"Kili, please tell me. It could help her." Fili said.
"Alright. The orcs plan was to kill us right? To end the line."
"Right." Thorin said.
"They know Dalila is Fili's one. And they know Fili is the future king. What if they were trying to prevent Dalila from having children? Incase their plan of killing us failed."
"My Mahal Kili I think you're right. I knew you had a brain!" Thorin exclaimed.
"So....because of this I might not be able to have children?" Dalila whispered.
"I'm sure you're fine. Don't worry about it now love." Fili assured her.

Before Dalila didn't really want children but now that there's a possibility she can't have any it got her thinking. It would be kind of nice to have a family with Fili. And Fili deserved it. He needed heirs to the throne. She hated to crush his dreams. She was scared he'd leave her for someone who could.

This also got Fili thinking. What if Dalila couldn't bear children? He wanted to have a family with her. He wanted heirs to the throne. But he wanted Dalila. If they have to they can adopt children. They wouldn't be the heirs to the throne of course. But Kili would have children. The line is still secure.

But this also got someone else thinking. Thorin. He didn't want his nephew to have go through this. He wanted him to have children of his own. Every man should have his own children.

Can Dalila have children? Was this the reason the orcs targeted her stomach? What's Thorin going to do?
