~(Y/N)~

Upon pulling into the driveway, I saw the lights were off. Maybe he's not home? No, he skipped work so he must be sleeping maybe. Quietly I enter the dark house, I kept my shoes on, prepared to leave right then and there if I had to. In the narrow hallway, I stop in my tracks when I heard a consistent creaking sound coming from the bedroom. My heart sank at the thought, but I had to investigate.

Walking up to the door, I slowly open it and flick on the light. The horrifying scene before me, made me freeze. There on our bed was my husband and a random woman, naked. He was on top of her looking back at me, ass exposed. "I should've known," I say.

"Shit,"

With that, I wasted no time turning and walking away from our bedroom, I didn't even bother picking anything up to take with me. On my way to the door, I heard crashing before thunderous footsteps followed behind me. "That's right (Y/N), you should've known. If you would've loved me better maybe that would've been you in that bed and not her-"

I spun around, furious. "No, because you know what I tried! I fucking tried and you still cheated. So you know what- I'm done....we're fucking done. You go back and do what you want with that woman, because I'm done," I yell back at him.

Now, pointing his finger at me, I glance behind him catching a glance of the girl he was screwing. "No, you fucking didn't try! I always sacrificed things for you, while you were off playing mommy over at some other man's house! Let me ask you this, do you like him for his money or is his dick just that good?"

Appalled by his question, my body reacted on its own. I hit him, really fucking hard, it did make me feel a little better but I knew he'd most likely play the victim. "Struck a nerve?" he wonders.

"No, you just disgust me,"

Finally, I turn and walk out the door with my keys in hand and ring off my finger. I left it on the table where we left our mail. Despite being angry it didn't stop the tears from streaming down my face, but all I could feel now was relief.

Quickly I ran to my car through the pouring rain. I decided to head in the direction of Erwin's place, but I drove carefully due to the tears slightly blinding my view and the heavy rain making it even harder. I knew he'd probably be asleep but I knew he had the room for me to stay the night.

The buzzing sound woke me, yawning softly I sit up from my desk finding I had fallen asleep while working. Rubbing my eyes, I slowly rise from my seat and head to the front door all while the buzzing continued. Someone was trying to request access to the lot.

Glancing at the camera by my front door I could see (Y/N)'s car. What is she doing here so late? Holding the button to speak, I ask, "(Y/N), what are you doing here?"

She then spoke back, "Larry and I got into a fight, is it alright if I stay here tonight?" she asks.

Without further questioning, I unlocked the gate allowing her to pass through. The rain came down hard as she quickly got out of her car and ran up to me. Her hair was wet already only being out there for a few seconds. I had no time to react when her arms wrapped around my waist. I wrap an arm around her as I slowly back into my house and shut the door. "What's going on? What happened?" I ask.

She softly sobbed into my shirt before finally looking up at me. "H-he cheated... I-I found him in bed with another woman a-and-" she trails off letting out more whimpers even hides her face again.

"Shh," I coo as I gently caress the back of her head. Slowly I led her to the guest bedroom across from my door. After flicking on the light, I led her to the bed where I sat her down and knelt before her. "You can stay here as long as you like, and if you want I can call someone to gather your things. Now... did he lay a hand on you at all?"

Quickly she shook her head, all while wiping her eyes, I let out a sigh feeling relieved he didn't hurt her because if he.... Internally I was shaking my head. She just got cheated on now is not the time to be selfish. Standing up, I turn to the door and say, "I'll be right back,"

I head into my bedroom to grab her a shirt, I knew none of my sweatpants would fit her. Walking back into the guest room, I hand her the shirt. "There are extra toothbrushes in the cabinet, you know where to look," I inform her.

"Thank you," she mumbles.

Anything for you. I simply nod in response then leave allowing her to settle in. "Also I'll call someone tomorrow to grab your things, is that okay?"

Turning to look back at me she nods. I didn't want her going back to that scumbag, because who knows what he would do to her. Closing the door, I turn and start to head back to my office to clean up and prepare for bed. On my way there I heard the creaking sound of a door opening. Glancing back I found Michael already heading into (Y/N)'s room and Rose following close behind.

Hastily, I go and pick my daughter up and whisper, "What do you think you're doing? You're supposed to be in bed Angel,"

"Michael said (Y/N) is here," she responds almost incoherently due to her fingers in her mouth, I grab her hands making her stop.

"Well (Y/N) wants to be alone right now, so you two will have to return to your rooms-"

"But Daddy! What if the bad man hurt her again?!" she asks.

"He hurt her?" I question. I knew Rose wasn't a liar, she knew I could detect when she was so she just never did so. I watched her nod her head then start pointing to her cheek.

"Bad man hit her,"

Curious now, I set her on the ground and ask, "When? Was it at the zoo?"

Rose nodded again, "Then he ran away!" I guess that's why they came home in a taxi, he left them there at the zoo. I couldn't blame (Y/N) for not telling me, she probably didn't want me to worry.

"Okay Angel, thank you for telling me. I'll take care of it okay? You go back to bed but first fetch your brother for me," I tell her softly, gently pushing her towards the door, she turns and gives me a little wave while I head to my office to make a call.

~(Y/N)~

After coming out of the bathroom, I found the twins on my bed jumping around. I smile but it quickly fades as I walk up to the bed. "You two are supposed to be in bed," I tell them. Micheal stops jumping and sits.

"We are in bed!" he retorts.

Rose then sits down beside him, and I carefully get into bed with them. Laying at the center, Rose came and situated herself on my left while Micheal took my right. They nestled themselves against me as if to shield me. My arms wrap around them both as I turn and kiss both of their heads. "Alright, bedtime now," with that, I reach over to flick the nightstand light. Rose suddenly hopped off the bed and turned off the main light in the room before returning to my side.

With that, I watched as the two of them dozed off. I couldn't help but hold them tighter, thanks to them I felt a little better.

~The Next Morning~

I woke to gentle knocking at the door. Jolting slightly I found I couldn't move because I had Rose and Micheal partially sleeping on top of me. "Mm, come in," I call groggily.

"Guys time to wake up," I whisper. Slowly they each turned their heads to look at me. Michael slowly sat up while rubbing his eyes while Rose dozed off again and held me tighter this time. So, carefully I sat up and allowed her to rest in my lap. Erwin entered with a large tray of food filled with fruits and a small stack of pancakes.

As the blonde sets it all down before me, Micheal reached in and grabbed an apple slice. "Thank you," I mumble.

As I began eating the pancakes, I tore off a piece seeing if Rose wanted any. She slowly woke again to take a bite but returned to resting her head on my lap. "I see they never returned to their rooms last night. I hope they didn't cause too much trouble," Erwin says.

"Nah, I think they were just worried,"

Erwin then took a seat at the end of the bed, after crossing his legs he turned and looked at me seriously now. "About that, Rose told me that Larry hit you," he says softly.

I avert my gaze down to the food, I take another bite before nodding. "I didn't want you to be concerned. Sorry," I whisper.

"Why are you apologizing? It isn't your fault Larry is a scumbag,"

"No, but the kids saw. I didn't want them to witness something like that but I genuinely thought Larry was trying to...I don't know it seems so stupid now," I mumble the last part.

"What?" Erwin asks.

"I thought he was trying to put in the effort because he skipped work. But I guess I was wrong- he was bored that's all,"

There was a long silence between us as I continued to eat and share my food with the twins. When I had finished, Erwin let out a long sigh and pulled the tray towards him. "Alright...I'm gonna take the day off. Why don't we get out of here for a while, you, me, and the twins. We can go to the park,"

My eyes shift off of Rose to meet Erwin's gaze, a small smile tugs at my lips as I nod in agreement, "Okay."
