Chapter Two
"Protect who?" Kai asked, helping carry the golden statue of Mr. Borg they'd gotten into the elevator. He let go and turned to watch Mr. Borg out the closing doors, causing the rest of them to drop the statue at the missing support, making it crack in two, right at the waist.
"Aww!" Jay groaned, "Now look what you've done!"
"It's hollow," Zane observed, bending down, "There's something inside."
"Wait, what are these?" Cole asked, bending down to look at the contents of the broken statue. He stood back up, holding a couple folded outfits in his hand, "Why would he give us new Ninja outfits? Guys, hate to admit it, but I think Kai might be onto something."
"And what exactly are these?" Kai asked, bending down to pick a couple of the unknown gold rods up too.
Techno-Blades located! Apprehend! the robotic voice went off in the elevator as red lights started flashing and alarms started going off, Assailants please stand down and drop the Techno-Blades!
"First you call us pedestrians and now we're assailants?" Jay asked, becoming slightly panicked.
"Nothing works," Zane stated, turning from typing in a couple of codes in the side panel to the left of the doors, "Perhaps he's malfunctioned?"
"These must be the Techno-Blades," Kai observed the two still in his hand, "We have to protect them with our lives."
Have it your way, the elevator spoke mischievously, Goodbye.
And with that the elevator began rushing at top speed to the bottom floor of Borg Industries, forcing the Ninja to the roof of the elevator, screaming at the top of their lungs.
"Let the elevator have the Techno-Blades, Kai!" Jay cried, "I think he's made his point!"
"We have to get off this thing!" Cole interrupted, looking around.
Kai looked at the blade in his hand, then at the exit door he was trapped to, then had an idea, "Goin' up!" he grunted, pushing off the ceiling to the floor. The gravitational force from the elevator then pushed him back upwards, but not before he could compose himself, going feet first, thus causing the door to bust out and him standing on the roof of the elevator.
The rest of the Ninja burst into their Spinjitzu tornadoes, following Kai to the roof of the dropping elevator while simultaneously changing into their new Ninja gear, holding onto the edges of the roof as they laid on their stomachs.
"There!" Zane pointed to the other elevator box that was raising at a normal speed, "Jump!"
As one they jumped onto it and watched the other crash into the ground floor or the building, "What's going on?!" Jay squealed when the elevator stopped moving.
"Whatever it is we've got no time to discuss it," Cole pointed to a nearing hover-craft, manned by a Nindroid.
"Cole, throw me," Zane stated blankly.
"What?! Are you mad?" Cole replied, "I'm not go-"
Zane cut him off, "Just throw me!"
With an exaggerated sigh, Cole grabbed Zane's waist and threw him at the plane. He landed on it and clung on as it tried to shake him.
"What are you doing?!" Kai asked loudly.
"I am- Just. . ." Zane stated between breaths as he grabbed the blade off his back, planning to attack the driving Nindroid and boot him from the ship to take control. But instead, when he grabbed the rod, the end unfolded into a blade, and lit up white and began shining with a brilliant white glow. In one swift movement he swung the blade down, sinking it into the glass roof.
The other Ninja watched as there was a blinding white light with electric noises. When they looked back Zane was atop a white and blue plane. He jumped in with a small grin.
We have to protect the people!" Cole pointed down at the busy streets, scattered with corrupted robots and technology assaulting pedestrians.

Everyone was screaming. With an angry grumble, Jade grudgingly got out of bed, looking once in the mirror before opening her door as she flattened her bangs over her eye like usual, "Father?"
No one she knew was in sight, the entire hall was empty. Scowling in concentration, she tilted her right ear towards the ceiling. Then it hit her: people above ground were screaming. Everyone below were sleeping.
Except her.
Shrugging, Jade closed her door, going back inside. As quietly as possible, which being silent was easy for her, she grabbed her blue jeans and a blue long sleeved shirt from her wardrobe, changing outfits in a matter of seconds as she put on her shoes, hopping towards her door.
"Time to go ssee what everyone'ss sscreaming about," she muttered, slipping from her room and closing the door once again behind her.
.*.⚞.*.⚟.*.
Grunting as she did so, Jade moved aside the manhole cover just enough for her to poke her head through to the streets above, quickly ducking back down when she was almost stomped on by a dude in some sort of black robotic exoskeleton.
"Now that he's gone," she muttered, pulling herself above ground and replacing the metal circle back over hole in the pavement, "I can carr-" she stopped mid sentence when she saw a blue vehicle hurling down the street towards her.
Instinctively, right as it was about to run over she jumped onto the hood and ran over it, hopping off the back and onto the ground, looking back at the now stopped vehicle.
The driver jumped out, and he was in an all blue Ninja Gi with reddish brown hair, "I almost hit you! Are you okay?!"
Then it dawned on her, "Hey, you're the guy I tackled earlier!"
The guy paused, "Yeah, but are you okay? Not injured or anything?!"
"I'm fine, but who are you, exactly?"
"I'm Jay," he grinned, taking a few more steps closer to Jade, "Who're you? I mean, like your name and why you were casually roof jumping."
"Not telling you my name," Jade scowled, "And I'm alwayss roof jumping," she mentally slapped herself for the extra s she added again.
"Okay. . . ." he backed towards his road runner, "I need to go now. See you around."
"Unlikely," she grumbled, turning and walking down the street, carefully avoiding all the possible Nindroids she could.
Chaos was her favorite thing, so she was enjoying the screams and unruly manner of New NinjaGo City's citizens. With a content sigh, she turned into an alleyway, and stopped short. In front of her were three or four Nindroids beeping a conversation out to each other: they must not be able to talk. They stopped when they noticed Jade was standing less that three yards away.
And without one word or reason they began chasing her. Wide eyed, she turned and ran as fast as her legs would possibly go. She wasn't really that fast, to be honest. Two of them caught her arms before she could officially escape.
She hissed, stating between struggles, "Let me go, dammit, do I look like a threat to you?!"
"High levels of Ninja blood detected," one of the two not holding her scanned her body like an item at the supermarket checkout line.
she thought angrily, scowling at the robot ahead of her. After watching him intently for a few seconds he dropped to the ground in a heap of fried metal, giving Jade the full view of a person her age dressed in a completely red Ninja Gi.
He kicked out the rest of the Droids and turned to Jade, frantically flipping down his hood to reveal spikes of brown hair, "Are you alright?"
She nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. . . . Thank you."
He smiled at her, "That's good."
A voice tripped the guy from some sort of daze, "Kai! What are you doing? We need to leave! Right now!"
Kai wanted to say goodbye to the girl he'd saved, but when he turned back the street only held the lifeless Nindroids, "Hey where'd she -"
"No time!" Jay grabbed Kai's wrist and dragged him away.
