Chapter Twenty Four

A/N: I swear on the name of NinjaGo I've been slowly updating this it's just that, like, when there's no NinjaGo-type things around I kinda lose my writing vibes because there's nothing to freak out over and give me new ideas

Now that Season 6 is finally about to aire on Cartoon Network I have episodes after episodes of re-runs to spazz over so I'd expect a good few updates in the next couple weeks--if all goes as planned, anyway. Like, things in my life never do and I'm ranting again so I present to you this kinda-horrible chapter I just finished writing please don't stab me but if you do I can understand why.

"... understand is why the Elemental Masters are being such dicks," Cole's voice floated through the open doors of the Monastery. It was a really nice, warm and sunny outside so all windows and doors were open.

"The Elemental Masters shouldn't be our main concern right now," Neuro walked past the doorway and Lizz took note that he wasn't using his walking stick. She hesitated on the porch, listening to him, "Our main concern should be Lar and how we're going to help get him back to sorts."

"All the while," came Nya's voice from somewhere inside, "Trying to fend off the others. Who knows how long they'll be like this."

"Well," Griffin glanced out the window but then did a bit of a double-take when he saw Lizz and Kai walking up the walkway, "For starters we can fill those two in on the conversation."

Lizz ignored Griffin and walked right into the living room, "Okay, so what's the scoop? Figure out anything constructive?"

"No, not really," Ash mumbled.

"Have you come to your senses?" Zane asked.

Lizz narrowed her eyes, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"I think he was not-so-subtly asking if you've finally agreed to train," Griffin told her, popping up at her side, "Because, I think they're growing impatient of your bipolarity."

"They also grow weary of waiting for you to agree to join their team," Neuro added from the couch, "The blue one was actually about to make you train against your will."

"Hey!" Jay shouted.

"Shut it," Ash hit Jay's shoulder, "Lar was already physically training with her a little bit before you guys went and screwed everything up. Just finish her ability training, now."

"We don't have any time to train anyone else, so we'll have to train her in battle. On the fly, really," Cole shook his head, "The OverLord is-"

"Becoming restless," Griffin cut into Cole's statement, "There's more Nindroids loose in the city again."

"Again?!" Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole and Lizz all chorused. Lizz stepped away from the doorway, "I've already gone up against those trash cans once, I think I'll just stay here."

"Yes," Lloyd wandered back into the room, coming from outside somewhere. He patted her on the back, "But that was you alone. You have us with you this time. We'll all watch each other's backs."

"Hey, Blondie," Griffin nodded towards Lloyd, "Watchyu got there?"

He was most likely referring to the very dark blue towel that was draped over Lloyd's left arm. Lloyd glanced at it, "Oh, well... I went back to Borg Industries and got something that might make our newest team member feel a little more included."

"Meaning...?" Ash gestured for Lloyd to hurry up. He wanted to get going to the city so he could get his best friend back to normal.

Everybody watched as Lloyd unfolded the towel--which wasn't really a towel at all--and tossed it at Lizz, "You dropped that a few days ago, thought I'd return it to you."

"What the hell is it...?" she grabbed it and it rolled out to be a uniform or some sort. She had it by the ankle, "Why do I want this?"

"It's a Ninja Gi," Zane told her, "Put it on."

"The sooner the better," Neuro closed his eyes, "I fear our time to stop the OverLord is running out."

"Why is he waiting for so long to take over the universe anyway?!" Lizz waved her arms, reluctantly going to find the nearest bathroom, "What's his problem? Does he want us to find him and destroy him?!" her voice went muffled when the door swung shut, "He's just waiting for us, like, what the actual-"

"She's got a temper on 'er, doesn't she," Griffin said it like a known fact, not a question.

"Well look who she's related to," Ash waved an arm at Lloyd.

"Lloyd is actually very level headed," Zane pointed out, "Only once in a while does he lose his cool."

"I'm always cool," Lloyd gloated, "I can't lose my cool."

"Yeah, you can't lose what you don't have," Lizz walked back out of the bathroom, barely recognizable in her midnight coloured head-to-toe outfit. It fit her a little too snugly, "These things feel like pajamas."

Kai shrugged, "They kind of are."

"Your Gi is not a set of pajamas," Garmadon poked his head in the door and smiled softly at the sight of Lizz, "Your Gi is a weapon, protection against evil. Now get to the city, all of you. Even you, Neuro," he added, "Wu, Misako, Nya and myself will not be far behind."

Everyone except Lizz nodded and ran outside. She followed, but hesitantly. Jay took notice, "What? Having even more second thoughts?"

She punched his shoulder--hard, "Shut it, Walker."

Left and right huge dragons were appearing out of thin air, dotting the grounds of the Monastery. A large snout materialized right in front of Lizz, making her jump back. The dragon was dark grey with molten gold shimmering under its scales, constantly moving, it looked like, "Lizz," Neuro leaned down as Lizz patted the dragon's snout, "Meet Sonic, the Elemental Dragon of the Mind."

"I love dragons," Lizz whispered, scratching Sonic's chin, "Wait, how am I getting into town if I don't have a dragon?"

"Pick one of us to ride with," Zane reigned in his wispy, almost see-through blue-silver dragon, "Hurry."

"Griffin," Lizz went straight for the maroon dragon and somehow made her way up to sit comfortably behind Griffin, "C'mon, let's go."

One by one the dragons pushed off the grass, launching into the sky. Thrown off balance by the sudden whoosh of air, Lizz threw her arms forward and wrapped them around Griffin's middle. He laughed, "Not used to flight?"

"She's scared of heights," Cole called over, flying even with Griffin.

"Am not," Lizz snapped, "This dragon is just really fast and it took me off guard."

"It's a speed dragon," Griffin grinned over his shoulder at her, "What else would you expect?" just to prove his point Griffin urged his dragon forward and it took off at full speed. The air pushing against Lizz almost sent her flying backwards--even with her tight grip around Griffin. As suddenly as it had started, it stopped the they were hovering above a thick, green forest. Lizz barely recognized it as the one where she'd met Lar, meaning Chen's Monastery probably wasn't too far off, "We'll wait for the others for a bit."

Against her better judgement, Lizz detached herself from Griffin and leaned back a bit, "Alright, so how far ahead are we?"

"Three miles, I'd say," Griffin patted the shoulder of his dragon, "When they catch up I'll keep pace with 'em, no worries, sweetcheecks."

"Don't call me that."

A/N: Yeah, I apologize for this monstrosity. Like... I'm running in circles with this book and have no clue wtf I'm doing anymore. Sorryyy
