Chapter Three
The Ninja sat at the table, eating dinner as they had their own little conversations with each other.
Most everyone, anyway. Kai and Sensei Garmadon were the only two not speaking with anyone. Sensei ate in silence while Kai chased bit of his baked potato around his plate with the fork in his hand.
"Kai!"
His head snapped up, "What?"
Cole shook his head, "I said your name like, twenty times!"
"Actually, it was only eleven times," Zane calculated it out.
"Not now, Zane," Cole grumbled, still looking at Kai, "Do you want to go play Super Smash Bros. was what I was going to ask, but you seem a little out of it right now so I'll just go play Lloyd. . ." he trailed off, standing up to leave the room.
Kai sighed, "Sorry Cole, not tonight," he stood up as well, "I. . . I'll be outside."
The two parted ways, Cole going down the hall to the game room and Kai going out onto the deck of the Bounty, gazing at the stars as he walked to the edge.
Kai bumped into someone. As he staggered back he saw it was Sensei Garmadon, "Sorry, Sensei. I wasn't watching where I was going."
"It's okay, Kai," he smiled back, "Why are you out here by yourself?"
"Just to think, Sensei," he replied, leaning against the railing, "If you don't mind me asking, why are you out here?"
"The same reason, actually," the grey haired man sighed.
Kai furrowed his eyebrows and turned to face him, "Is everything alright, Sensei? You seem different lately."
"It's nothing, Kai," he waved it off with a small smile, "Don't worry about me."
"Okay," he nodded, staring at the floorboards, "Sensei?" there was a hummed response, showing he'd heard Kai, "Today, in the City, some Nindroids had a girl hostage. I saved her, but when I got a closer look she. . . She looked like Misako, and, this is going to sound crazy, but had your eyes." Well eye, since I could only see one. Beside him, Sensei stiffened, "Sensei?"
"I think I should turn in for the night," he finally said after a long silence, ignoring Kai's statement, detaching himself from the railing and standing up, "I think you should too, Kai. Good night."
Kai watched him walk back inside before trailing after him, though ducking into the game room instead of his own, "Hey guys!"
Kai's sister Nya looked over at him from the couch, "Hey Kai. Where were you?"
"Just outside," he shrugged, leaning on the wall, "Can I borrow Jay for a minute?" he nodded in the direction of the Blue Ninja, "He'll be back before you know it."
Jay got up and followed Kai into the hall, "What?"
"I swear in the name of NinjaGo I saw Sensei Garmadon's daughter today," Kai blurted.
"What?!" Jay whisper-shouted, pulling Kai into a side room, "What are you talking about, Lloyd is an only child."
"You think I don't know that?!" Kai whisper-shouted too, "But I know what I saw! She looked like Misako, and the only eye I could see, I saw Sensei."
Jay paused, "Wait, is it the same one that we met this morning?" Kai nodded, urging
Jay to continue, "She looked nothing like Sensei or Misako but-"
"But what, Jay?"
"But she did sort of look like Lloyd," he muttered, "Just a little bit though. But almost every other girl I see looks like him, so I didn't think it was a big deal."
"Lloyd does look like a girl," Kai chuckled, cracking a smile as he lightly slapped Jay's arm, "Yeah, I guess it was nothing, I mean, we'd know if Sensei had a daughter and Lloyd would know if he had a sister, wouldn't he?"
"He would. I would," Lloyd stated, walking in the door behind them, "And I do."
"You do what?" Jay asked after he calmed down from Lloyd's scare, turning to face the blonde boy.
"Have a sister," Lloyd stated blankly, looking between the two.

"Jade where have you been?" Skales Jr. asked as his elder sister walked through the door, shutting it behind her, "Father and Mother have been worried ssick ever since they ssaw you weren't in your bed!"
"Calm down," she bent to his level, putting a hand on his shoulder, "There wass sscreaming above ground early this morning so I went to look, that iss all little brother."
"Jade," Selma, her mother, walked over, hugging her, "Where have you been?"
"Above ground, Mother," Jade sighed, wriggling from the pink Serpentine's grasp, "I was merely seeing why everyone was sscreaming."
Selma gasped, backing up a step, "Our people vowed to never step above ground again, Jade."
"No," Jade corrected sourly, "Your people vowed. I am not Sserpentine, Mother."
"You are as much Sserpentine ass the resst of uss, dear," she smiled, giving Jade a quick kiss on the top of her head before walking away.
Skales Jr's friend, Snike, walked up to Jade, "Hi Jade."
"Hey Snike, what's up?" she bent down to look him in the eye, placing a hand on his shoulder like she did with all the little ones.
"Me and Skales Jr. and Rattla wanted to know if you would come play with us," he said shyly, looking towards the ground.
Jade smiled, "Of course I would," she stood up, "Let's go."

She grinned, hiding behind a large pile of rocks in the corner of the room, Snike will never find me back here. She thought with a quiet snicker.
At the moment she, Skales Jr., and Rattla were all playing hide and seek, and Snike was currently 'seeking.' In the distance, she heard SJ's voice, "Aww man!"
One down, one more to go until I win. Again, she won the last four rounds and lost three, which resulted in her going to 'seek.' Rattla was the one who was easiest to find, SJ being the hardest.
"Found you!" Jade jumped at the sound of Snike's voice by her ear.
She snapped her fingers and grinned, "Dang, ya found me."
The little orange and black boy led her back to their meeting area, her eyes found the other two.
First she saw little Rattla, the youngest of them all. He is a scout for the Hypnobrai Tribe of Serpentine. He has a dark blue face with red eyes, the left eye being slightly larger than the right. The rest of his body is mostly light grey, excluding the dark blue markings on his front and his dark gray hands. He also has a small cobra-like hood on the back of his head. The hood makes him look more adorable than he probably should.
Skales Jr. was next to Rattla, leaning against the wall. Jade hardly distinguished him from Rattla due to their similar grey hoods and dark blue skin. Though she'd lived long enough with Skales Jr. to know who he was.
Then Jade swept her eyes over Snike, for leisurely purposes. He's a slightly cross-eyed, fully color blind little black and orange twerp. A sniper scout for the Constrictai Tribe. Spends most of his time in the Toxic Bogs. His deadliest feature is his spiked battle mace, which has enough strength to crush an enemy on contact.
How did I get mixed up with this lot? she asked herself as they neared the other two.
"I don't want to play anymore," Rattla whined.
"Me neither," Jade sighed, sitting on the floor with her legs crossed, "Anyone got a better game we could play?"
"No," they all stated blankly, then Rattla and Snike walked away.
Skales Jr. looked at Jade, "What do we do now?"
She shrugged, standing up, "I am going to go take a nap."
Skales Jr. Hugged her waist, "Good night, ssiss."
Jade patted the top of his head, then turned and walked back to her room, closing and locking the door behind her, "Now where did I pu- Ah," her eyes landed on the gold by her nightstand, "There you are!" Slowly, Jade made her way over to it, grabbing it as she sat on her bed, "What do you do? Why are you so important?" she whispered, turning it over in her hands, "And why was Mr. Borg so eager to get rid of you?"
