Chapter 7-Forlorn.

As soon as he disappeared into somewhere which she didn't knew or was not even interested to know, she felt better.

There was something strange about that man which creeps her out. Shrugging her shoulder, she made her way towards the dining area with her mother.

At times, Amrita was highly pissed with her mother for gossiping around with the bunch of women she hardly knew. She just wanted to end this and get back home.

Her phone buzzed bringing her out of reverie and she excused herself for picking it up.

"Hello, Yes. I'm fine. Just came out with Mom and Dad......
Yes..... I'm a lot busy these days. I can't. Okay I'll try to tell Ambar....." She kept talking until she started receiving another call.

"Hey... I'll talk to you later... Yes." She quickly disconnected the call and dialed the number who was trying to call her.

"Hello Vashisht."

"Thank goodness Dida, you called back." She heard his tizzy voice.

"What's the matter, Vashisht?" She queried.

"Where's Ambar?" She asked him instantly.

"I don't know." He sounded exasperated.

"What do you mean? She was out to be there with you. Didn't you both had plans?" She questioned him.

"Yes, we did meet for dinner but I couldn't drop her home as my girlfriend called me at her place. She said that she'll go home by herself and I did let her but she forgot her phone with me and when I got back to return it to her, I found the door locked. Dida, she hasn't returned yet. I've even scanned all the road but couldn't find her there. I'm just scared, what if she might be in some sort of trouble?" He narrated her while being a bit apprehensive.

"Vashisht, I'm coming. Don't worry, we'll find her and incase if she gets home before I do, Please call me." She hung up and returned to the place her mother was standing.

"Mom... Mom! Listen to me." She tapped her shoulder but her mother didn't respond instead she kept chatting with the ladies.

She started looking for her dad but couldn't spot him anywhere.

Having no other option, she left the party without her parents.

She quickly hired a cab and scurried back home where Vashisht was anxiously waiting for her. During the ride, she left a message to both her parents of leaving early.

When she got back home, she clumped to the place where Vashisht was standing already.

"What happened?" She panted.

"I looked everywhere. I've no idea where she is?" He replied.

"Okay. Do you have your car?" She asked him and he nodded.

"Let's go..." She followed him

------------------------------

"Nakul, I don't have so much time. Even Tyler is tired handling her. I've checked the flights and have booked my ticket for this coming Friday." She spoke while he went stiff hearing his mother.

"Mom, Isn't that too soon?" He asked her rubbing his temples.

"I know but there's nothing I could do, son!" Manyata sighed.

"Can't we bring her here? I'm sure medication won't differ." He sounded hopeful.

"No dear, we can't get her here. It will be more than a trouble that you could imagine. She can't cope up with anyone else rather than me and you know she can't live here." She breathe out.

"Okay, but what about Aakash? You aren't taking him, are you?" He asked with fear in his voice.

"You know Nakul, it's on you that what you're upto which will make Aakash to stay here with you. You have very less time to make a decision. Either you're planning something or I'm taking him with me. Choice is yours." She said and walked out while he groaned mentally and joined the party where his employees were waiting for him.

------------------------------

"Dida, are you sure whether we'll find her here?" He asked her being doubtful.

"I think so." She said and they climbed the stairs.

As soon as they reached upstairs, they found the door slightly open.

They both gave knowing looks to each other and immediately trudged inside.

To their relief, she was really inside, lying on the bed..

Ambar was soundly asleep hugging a big photo frame of her parents. The pillow beneath her was wet as she had sobbed immensely.

Amrita knew that whenever Ambar was disconsolate, she would come to her small house where she lived with her parents when they were alive to feel their presence.

Indeed she felt forlorn today and that's the reason she came here without telling anyone.

Amrita turned to Vashisht who too had a gloomy face seeing his best friend in tears.

"Vashisht, you should go home. Tonight, I'll be staying here with Ambar." She said slowly.

"No... I'll stay here too." He was adamant for not leaving them alone.

"But Vashisht..."

"Please Dida." He pleaded while she bobbed her head and kissed her sister's forehead.

"I'm so sorry, Amy. I really am." She gently stroked her cheeks while her tears brimmed up.

------------------------------

Nakul was hell tired today and on top of it he had to come up with something which would make his 'small shot' to stay with him.

He tossed himself on the bed as his mind wandered to think about many things.

One of them was her.
Rest of the party, he didn't see her.
He did notice her parents a lot of time but not her.

Why did she leave early? Was he the reason behind it?

But he did nothing and she didn't even remember him when he met her at the hospital.

He tussled and turned on the bed.

Suddenly, he sat up straight as he recalled his mother words this evening.

Should he? Will she?
There were numerous questions already in his mind and he didn't even knew whether she was truly his 'Little Sahay.'

Little Sahay. He had named her after her surname. He didn't knew her name and like a fool he didn't even ask her. All he remembered that she was called Amu or Sahay girl by the rest.

His mind drifted to those pleasant memories.

He was late today... His teacher had made him stay a bit longer.
He knew that she might be leaving now but he wanted to meet her... desperately.
He ran fast before he reached the ground. The sun was about to set and the playground was now deserted as he could see no one. Disappointed with himself, he started to leave but stopped when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned his head and there she was smiling.
"I waited for you so much, where were you?" She asked him.
"Sorry." He smiled sheepishly.
"I was just about to go home". She said.
"My teacher kept me waiting as a punishment." He reasoned.
"Punishment but why?"
"Few boys threw ink on the seat and blamed me for it." He said with tears in his eyes.
"Hey. Please don't cry because of those stupid.... stupid boys." She wiped his tears and he flinched as she touch the scar on his face by mistake.
"I'm sorry." She apologised quickly.
"It's okay." He smiled a little more.
"Ms. Sahay.. Your mother has been calling you." The guard said.
"Okay Uncle." She replied shaking her head.
"I'll see you tomorrow friend." She said waving her hand to him.
"Alright then.. Good bye." He replied while she ran away.

'Friend' and that's what she called him.
Would she really accept this decision?
Having no other alternative, he have to do this.
But how?
