Chapter 59-Hidden Feelings.

Melancholy had wrapped her entire self. His dejection had killed even the little ounce of hope which had sneaked in her heart.

She wasn't that important to him, after all she was just his friend.
After she had left, things must have drastically changed, she'd been thinking. He might have some other major priorities now where she doesn't even stand a chance.

Maybe her chapter from his life is finally over and even she should move on.

But will it be any easier?
Definitely not!

Maybe she should continue to let her destiny decide the best for her just like she had done each and every time.
"Amy! Amy!" He banged his fist on the other side of the door, breaking her chain of thoughts.

"Open the door, right now or else.. I'll break it." Vashisht shouted and she snorted, pulling the duvet from her body.

She stepped her foot on the floor lazily and opened the door to see her furious friend with his utterly curious girlfriend, dressed up in some odd sort of costumes.

"What's wrong?" She rubbed her eyes whilst yawning.

"That should be my line. Why are you locked up in your room? You didn't even have anything since morning and on top of it, you just dared to ask me what's wrong." Vashisht yelled and Ambar's eyes shifted to Olivia who passed her a sympathetic smile.

"You're exaggerating, Vashisht. I'm just quite tired today and in a no mood to have any sort of arguments with you." She waved off.

"Fine." He gritted his teeth, "But at least get ready, we're running late." He said and she quirked her eyebrows in confusion. "For?"

"Oh my god! It's a post halloween gala, Ambar and we've a party to attend, I can't believe you forg-" He started saying but she didn't let him finish.

"Cut it out, please. I'm not feeling well."

"Should I call a doctor?" Olivia asked and Ambar shook her head.

"No need. I'll just take rest. You guys must carry on. I'll stay here." Ambar replied.

"Are you insane, how can we leave you alone? We're not going either." Vashisht announced and Ambar huffed loudly.

If he could act stubborn then even she was hell bent to sent them away.

"Shut up and just go. Don't worry about me." She pushed him near the door while Olivia followed them.

"Are you sure? Amy, this party is not important than your health." Olivia voiced out and a smile broke on Ambar's face.

"I'm happy to have you both as my friends but I'll feel terrible if you'd be aborting this plan just because of me. Please go and enjoy." She put forth and enveloped them into a group hug.

"But only if you'd promise us that you'll get some food into your system after we leave. I don't want you to starve and lose weight. I want my best friend to be a chubby fatso." Vashisht teased her and she flicked him.

"Fine... I would eat everything and if you both don't leave now.... then I'll eat you both as well." They chuckled before leaving her alone in the huge apartment all by herself.

Once they were gone, her face turned gloomy.

She wanted this.
To be left on her own without anyone but how much ever hard she tried to refuse, her heart just wanted him.
Only him.

She plunged over her bed and closed her eyes but then she could only see his face which made her feel more depressed.

She quickly opened her eyes and dismissed her plan of a good pleasant sleep.

She strode to the couch and picked up the remote, switching on the television.

After flipping the channels, she finally settled for a horror movie rather than a romance fiction.
Her eyes were hooked to the screen as she started watching.

"Mary, don't let anyone inside. Are you clear?" The man in the movie whispered in the ears of that woman who herself appeared like a ghost in her horrendous attire.

Ambar had nothing to do but  watch the movie to distract herself. The room echoed with the loud screeches from the actors in the movie as it progressed to its climax scene.

"I feel somebody's at the door." The protagonist mumbled as Ambar was so engrossed in watching them.

"Don't open the door." The man argued.

"But somebody's knocking." And surprisingly Ambar heard the same knock from the door near her and she nearly jumped on the couch, clutching the pillow to her chest, "Who's it?" She muttered but to her avail, received no response from the other side.

She stared at the clock but it was too early for her friends to return from the party!

"Don't open the door, Mary." The actor in the film called out.

Ambar's eyes shifted to the television screen and then again to the door. Another loud knock and she clutched the vase from the table immediately.

She slowly walked up to the door and peeped through the hole but couldn't spot anyone. She closed her eyes and gripped the vase tightly before opening the door in a swift speed to hit the man who stood in front.

"Crazy woman! Why did you do that?" Nakul was yelping in pain as the vase had hit him on his shoulder.

Ambar froze when she heard his voice.

'This must be a dream! No, this is not real!"

"What dreams? Ouch!" Nakul winced.

Crap! Did she say that loud?

"Will you help me or would you just enjoy watching me tremble in pain?" His sarcastic remark just pulled her out of her reverie and she guided him to the sofa and made him lie on it and switched off the television before he could notice what she had been watching. Meanwhile, she also brought an ice pack from the refrigerator and placed it on his shoulder.

"What a.. are you do-ing here?" She stammered as he glared at her.

"Came to see you. Of course." He scoffed whilst rubbing the pack, "Why? Am I not allowed to meet my friend? Or was this a welcome, I should have already expected." He snickered.

"I'm sorry." She apologised, "I thought it was some... Never mind." She trailed off and saw his mouth twitching in amusement.

"You know what, I missed this craziness of yours." He suddenly said and her cheeks turned crimson when he pinched her nose.

He couldn't help but smile at that blush.

"I got something for you." Her eyes found his.

"Huh?"

"It's from Aakash and Amrita". He quickly added before she could deny.

She grinned at the mention of the two most important people other than him.

Nakul removed a nice giftwrapped box from his suitcase before handing it to her.

"I don't know exactly, what it is. You open and see it yourself." He said and she nodded.

She carefully opened the box. It had a beautiful black dress and their photographs from her farewell party.

"Wow. Such a pretty dress and these photographs, I missed them a lot." She told him.

"Really! And what about me?" He folded his arms as his lips settled for a teasing smile.

She bit her lips in response.
Only if he knew that how she had been without him.

Nothing seemed harder than this and to keep them hidden from the rest was the hardest thing of all.

She wanted to shout and yell at him but she didn't.

She didn't speak a word. Instead, her eyes spoke volumes of pain and he was clearly able to read it. More than he had troubled her, he had troubled himself by staying distant and avoiding her.

His past had really gotten him rolled up into his shares of  despair and guilt which had pulled him far away from seeing her.

"So you're here to see me?" She asked him nervously.

"Not exactly! I have a press conference here, in New York which is very important for the firm and I'll be attending that." He said.

A flash of hurt crossed her face and she did her best to hide it from him.

"Okay." She pursed her lips together.

"When is it?" She enquired after a pause.

"On Friday." He said.

"And when are you leaving again?" She asked.

"On Saturday." He spoke truthfully and she nodded her head.

'That's a week from now.' She thought.

"I'm hungry and tired. Do you have something to eat?" He patted his stomach and she laughed.

At the same time, even her stomach made some weird noises which she was sure that he heard them as well.

Her eyes stooped low in awkwardness

"I'll cook something." She quickly muttered, avoiding the embarrassment.

"Wait... I'll help you." He offered and she looked at his face in an absolute surprise.

"Yes, I'm learning to overcome my fears." He smiled sheepishly and her eyes widened in surprise. She was very happy to hear him say something like this.

"Aren't you tired? You should probably rest." She suggested and he shook his head. "No, I'm fine. I'll rest after I eat something." He said and she didn't budge more.

"Okay." She strolled to the kitchen and picked up the pan.

His gaze was intently on what she was doing.

Before she was about to lit the stove, her eyes met his and she found his demeanour looking quite composed.

"Grate some cheese." She passed him a packet.

"Some? I prefer a lots of cheese." He grinned at her and started doing his job.

She couldn't help but smile again and continued stirring the sauce. Both of them were relieved and delighted after these months of separation.

"Taste it." Ambar neared the fork to his mouth.

She blushed when she looked into his amber coloured eyes.

He smiled before eating it from her hand. He felt connected and contented, altogether at the same time.

"How's it?" She asked him.

"Delicious." He licked his lips and she gulped before averting her eyes.

She so wanted to kiss him but she stopped herself from doing so.

"Let's eat it." He said serving the pasta in their dishes.

"Want to watch a movie?" She asked him.

"What kind?" He queried.

"Tell me which one would you prefer?"

"Seriously you're asking me. I'm the most boring person." He confessed and she chuckled at him. "True".

"So, Gone with the wind." She settled on the couch.

"Wasn't that a book?"

"I thought you read only business related stuff". She narrowed her eyes and he nodded, "I do but recently,  I've started taking interests in some stuffs like that". He told her.

"Why?" Her eyes rose up to meet his.

"Because now....  I want to believe in fantasy, fiction and  love."

------------------------------------------------

The Business Newspapers were filled with the most prominent headlines of the month.

"Mayank Suri, once again becomes the managing director of  Skyflame."

"Stock market uplifts. Skyflame on the top."

"The Business Czar back into action."

Moreover, Mayank's lost spirit had returned when he entered his cabin.
Nakul had happily evacuated the position for his brother to step where he already belonged and handed over his authorities to him.

Mayank was actually proud of his brother's achievements. The way he had taken over the firm in his absence was really commendable. Nobody could've worked the way he did.

Mayank didn't want him to quit from the position where he had worked before but on the other hand, he couldn't have forced him against his wishes.

He knew how much his brother wanted to leave and go after the girl he loves and so, he didn't pressurise him but instead gave him some other important responsibilities which were his earlier target to increase his brand 'Skyflame' globally.

Skyflame... The name which comprised his son's name followed by his wife's had transformed from Suri Industries when his son was born. It was his mother's decision to welcome the good luck by rebranding their business.
Mayank had worked day and night to fulfill this dream of his father and he was also determined to continue just the way like before.

Unlike earlier, his focus was not entirely on the firm now because he clearly remembered that he had some people at home to look after.

One of his most important priority was his son, 'Aakash' while the other one was Amrita who had now advanced to the latter stage of her pregnancy.

He was very grateful to her for her efforts to look after his son and his house and in just few months, he had even built a sort of friendship with her which was quite rare for him.

There wasn't a single day, when he didn't cry for his wife and child.
Though silently but he did.

They were his strength which were no more than a memory now and Amrita knew about it.

She tried to stay out of his line but felt to be drawn up to him, each now and then whenever he showed his concern and kindness. Not only for her but also for her baby.

These emotions were different which she had never experienced before. But whenever it came up, little butterflies floated in her stomach evoking some strange feelings such as adrenaline rushing through her veins and her cheeks instantly getting heated up.

These feelings were webbing around her heart, making her go completely insane

And she didn't even know what she was going to do with it.

------------------------------------------------

Her eyes were closed and her mouth slightly parted whilst she fell asleep.

He was not even blinking his eyes.

He was unable to stop himself from admiring that calm and peaceful face of hers.

He gently touched her smooth puffy cheeks and she moved a bit.

And then again shifted into her deep slumber.

He smiled.

While the window was open, she started shivering due to the cold weather.

Nakul immediately removed his coat and covered her. He even shut the windows.

He lastly kissed her forehead before picking up his bags and exiting without making any noise.

I'm really very sorry for the delay.

Again I had reasons for not updating. I was going to provide an early update but unfortunately I couldn't.
I had mentioned the reasons on my timeline.

Last week, it was the most disastrous day of my life.
I just want to forget it.

My phone is still not working and it's becoming very difficult for me to write.

I'm not accustomed to write on laptop. It gives me a headache.

So how was the chapter?

Why didn't Nakul confess his feelings?

Would Amrita except her own emotions?

Will Mayank open his heart for someone someday?

Keep Guessing.

Sorry if any mistakes.
I've tried my best.
I don't know how this chapter has come out.

Please vote and comment.

Thank you for all your patience.

If I'm updating late, then I'll post a message on my timeline or on my instagram @Annu_7896 account where you can find  sneak peeks of the next chapter sometimes.

Have a great time.

♥♡♥.
