Chapter II: The Planetarium and James...?
"Another one?"
Tyler quickly looked up and he accidentally hit his forehead on a spirited female's chin.
"Ow! What was that for?" The female asked as she paced back from him a little.
She shook her head and rubbed her chin as a cute and childish pout was on her face.
"Sorry..." Tyler apologized.
He seethed in the quick impact and rubbed his forehead and stood up properly. He was in a large room with mirrors. Dozens upon dozens of mirrors. Mirrors of different shapes, engravings and some that even morphed your reflection if you looked at them. And from the direction across him was another set of two doors that were wide open leading to another room.
The female laughed nervously. Tyler looked at her and smiled thinking that she looked friendly.
She had bright emerald green eyes,a rose gold barette in her bouncy blond hair, and an adorable dorky smile on her face as she rubbed her chin.
Tyler sighed and shook his head.
"What did you mean by another one?" He asked her.
"Errr... Did you get a note like this?" The female asked him and held out a note.
"Yeah. I did." He showed her the note and she sighed in relief.
Tyler felt like she was a little weirded out and sighed. "Anyway, what's your name?"
She jolted and then blinked. "O-oh! Celeste! Yours?"
"Tyler." He said and held his hand out politely.
She giggled and then shook his hand. "No one does that anymore..."
"Sorry then." Tyler sighed and his cheeks heated up. "What did you mean by another-"
"What are you doing in here, Celeste? And just who is that you're with?"
Tyler looked towards the direction of the voice. A tall male with jet black hair and a suit said those words with his violet eyes piercing at them in anguish.
Celeste yelped. "S-sorry Ryan! I only went here for a detour." She laughed nervously.
The male with the black hair that Tyler assumed was Ryan walked forward and took Celeste's hand gently and kissed it. "I have promised your sister that I would watch you. And watch over you I shall!"
Celeste rolled her eyes. "Stop acting like you're Prince Charming."
Tyler snickered and Ryan gave Tyler a stern glare. "Well excuse me! Just what do you have to say?! Snickering about some kind and uncommon courtesy...!" He huffed.
"And miss Celeste, do consider the trust that I've been given by your sister! Obviously, I can be trusted easily do to my status and appearance! Who wouldn't be charmed by my greatness?" Ryan then said with a flourish and a glint in his eyes.
Tyler sighed and Celeste pulled her hand back from him and then looked at Tyler.
"Watch him, he sometimes seems gay." Celeste giggled and Tyler chuckled.
"Celeste! How could you say that young lady?! To me?! Me of all people?!" Ryan said dramatically.
"Duh, because you're gay, Ryan Rosebud." Laughed a very cheeky redhead who entered the room.
"Marie! You know how he hates it around you!" Celeste yelped and her hair bounced as she did.
"So what? And, dude. Don't call me Redhead or Marie. Just call me Mars eh?" She said and then elbowed Ryan with a laugh.
"MARIE?! KEEP YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF!" Ryan shrieked in dramatic agony.
Tyler, Celeste and Mars cracked up in laughter and Ryan furiously told them off. Tyler then heard quiet footsteps and the room became silent as a chill began to pass between them.
They all then stared at the doorway as a female came into view. A female with long, flowing, white hair and a shimmery sky blue barette in her hair. Celeste sighed in relief at the sight of the female and Ryan looked somehow terrified and became paler.
"Am I interrupting something?" The female asked in a cold and mysterious tone.
"Selene... You scared us." Celeste sighed and then gave 'Selene' a hug.
"I apologize, dear sister. But I couldn't help but feel intrigued about this... promise... That Ryan mentioned." She said.
"What?" Mars asked and blinked with a blank look on her face.
"What I mean to say is, I only allowed Ryan to watch over you. But to promise him your life is beyond me... I would never." Selene said calmly and shook her head.
"Ryan, sir... What are we doing here? We must return to the office." Said a male with green eyes behind his thick glasses, brown hair and work suit and tie.
"I've told you before, James. We aren't going anywhere. We're stuck here." Ryan said annoyedly. "And I told you to just get me coffee or whatnot!"
Tyler felt an uncomfortable atmosphere begin to build up between Ryan and... James.
'James seems to be Ryan's assistant or something...' Tyler thought.
"So you choose to escape your work ethics and stay in this planetarium?" James said with a terrifyingly calm look on his face with only a hint of anguish.
"Planetarium?!" Ryan exclaimed. "Are you blind?! Obviously, I can see better and what I see are people, floors, walls, a ceiling and mirrors!"
Tyler cringed at that and James sighed. "Selene is a feminine name from the moon. Celeste from the sun. And Marie is Mars." James said.
Tyler nodded slowly at those words and Ryan puffed his chest out and crossed his arms with a smug look. "And I, am the star. There can only be one! And that, would be me."
"Do calm your ego, Ryan. Don't be ostentatious. The other's seem to either loathe or tell you to quieten yourself. You musn't hurt your image..." Selene said calmly but she sounded angrily concerned at the same time as her wise eyes landed on Ryan. It was as if she could read him like a book...
James then nodded in agreement and looked at his employer."I agree. Sir, you musn't-"
"Ostentatious?! Me?! Leave me be then, James! Out!" Ryan said angrily and James looked a little surprised but didn't show much emotion.
James looked down and nodded. "As you wish sir."
James then turned towards the doors and exited the room. Tyler stared at the doorway somehow feeling bad for James even though they'd just met. Tyler looked at Ryan and then Mars opened her nouth to speak. "Planetarium-"
"Don't say a word, Marie!!! I, of all people, don't need your words of stupidity and your petty jokes and insults!!! Hmph!!!" He then huffed angrily and stormed out if the room.
Tyler exhaled slowly and then looked at Celeste, Selene and Mars.
Mars seemed more angered than hurt. "Well that huge-money-making-jerk ruined the mood." She said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.
Celeste looked really hurt and Selene comforted her. "Tyler." Selene said looking at him.
"Yeah?" He said and looked at Selene.
"Do ignore him and his ego... It is also unbearable for a couple of the others." Selene said to him and gently rubbed Celeste's back.
"Others? How many of us are here?" Tyler asked.
"There were eleven of us. And you came and made it twelve... So far, you've met Mars, Ryan, James, Celeste and I. The others must be in their rooms or the round table in room one." Selene said calmly and gestured a hand towards the doorways.
"Room one huh..." Tyler said and looked towards the doorway.
"Yep. Room one. Hey, I oughtta catch up with Marco... See ya dweebs!" Mars laughed and then ran out the room.
Tyler heard Selene sigh disappointedly and shake her head then give Tyler a calm yet sympathetic look.
"Please, do forget what happened with Ryan and James. I'll stay here with Celeste. Feel free to look around. But there aren't that many places to view in this place..."
"I'm sorry about Celeste..." Tyler said and looked at the blonde hugging her sister. The quirky blonde then looked at Tyler angrily and pouted. Tyler couldn't help but smile at her adorable face and her personality just made it even more cute.
"I'm not dead, Tyler." She grumped.
"Sorry then." Tyler laughed. Celeste rolled her eyes, let go of her sister and stuck her tongue out at Tyler who only chuckled. Selene smiled at the pair who were getting along together and then looked towards the doorway.
"I suppose we should introduce you to the others?" Selene asked Tyler then looked at Celeste.
"Alright! Come on!" Celeste said and excitedly grabbed Tyler's arm and pulled him out of the doorway.
Tyler felt he only warm greetings he actually got were from Celeste and kinder greetings from Selene. The twins didn't seem so bad him.
But as he stepped one foot across the doorway to Room One, he felt an ominous feeling. Something sparked inside him and told him not to go farther from the door...
He blurred out the sounds of Celeste's playful chatter and chose to turn around to look back at the door from across the mirror room. And to his utter amazement...
The door had disappeared.
