Plot Twist - CRUSHES

What if... Marinette wasn't Ladybug and Adrien wasn't Chat Noir? What if Ladybug and Chat Noir were two teens slightly older who looked strangely alike but were unrelated (this is the only way I can ship Adrienette and Bridgix) (yes I have decided Bridgette and Felix is Bridgix)

Marinette stepped out the doors, holding a hand out, watching as droplets splattered on her palm. With a sigh, she resigned herself to wait for the rain to stop. Dropping her bag by her feet, she was about to sit down and continue with her sketches when he came out.

Adrien noticed the rain, sure, but his attention was quickly diverted to the girl standing before it. The same girl who accused him of sticking gum on her seat. He believed Nino said her name was Marinette, and he had to admit, she was very pretty. Determination filling his heart, he moved to greet her.

"Hi!" He lifted a hand, but dropped it when she stubbornly looked away. His bright, friendly smile dropped into a vision of sadness. She peaked around her hair to see his gaze on the ground as he opened his black umbrella. "Listen... when I said I was trying to remove the gum from your seat... it's true you know?" He looked back over his shoulder at her to see her crystal eyes wide and staring at him. "I've never gone to school before. I never had any friends. It's all sort of... new to me." He smiled halfheartedly and shrugged.

Turning around fully, he held out the umbrella to her. Her mouth opened in surprise, lips curled into an 'o'. He simply smiled, sincerity shining from his emerald eyes. Thunder cracked in the distance, provoking a soft gasp from her. She hesitantly raised a hand, not breaking eye contact, unable to tear her his from his searing ones. She accidentally touched his finger, jerking back with a slight wince, before taking the umbrella into her closed fist.

She stood still for a moment before the umbrella closed around her, a startled yelp escaping from her.

Adrien tried to be polite, he really did, but he couldn't help but burst out laughing as he lifted the rim of the umbrella to reveal her blushing, timid expression. She let out a small giggle, enjoying the way his face lit up with life as he laughed freely. He finally calmed down to see her smiling shyly, eyes glittering like they were lit up by some invisible light. If he were being honest, his heart skipped a beat.

"Well, see you tomorrow!" He waved with a grin before dashing towards the car waiting for him. She stared after him, a blush consuming her face.

"Y-yeah, s-see y-you morrow-to, no wait, tomotrow, that's not it, tomorrow- wait, why am I stuttering?" She glanced down, confused, before gasping in realisation. "No! I don't... do I? Ugh, this year is going to be so confusing." She groaned, moving to head home.

Adrien watched her from the window of the car, watching as she groaned and slapped her forehead and rushed back to wear she left her bag. He chuckled as she slung her bag over her back and dashed across the street, presumably to her house.

"She's adorable..." He sighed dreamily, and then snapped out of his reverie. "Wait what?! Do I... I do!" He grinned, leaning back in his seat. "This year is going to be interesting."

~*YES I DID JUST DO THAT BUT It'S NOT ENDING THERE SO KEEP ON IT SUCKAS (you're not suckas you're awesome peeps)*~

The next day, Marinette was freaking out to her new friend, Alya.

"And I started stuttering for no reason! I was perfectly normal and suddenly I start stuttering? What is wrong with me?!" She whined, leaning her head on Alya's shoulder. The brunette chuckled, patting her adorable friend's head.

"Girl, I think you have a crush." She grinned as Marinette looked up in horror.

"No! I can't have a crush on him! I don't do crushes, they're just too messy and stressful! I cherish my sleep, thank you!" She tugged at her hair and bit her lip, trying to stop herself from yelling. "My life is over!" She declared rather dramatically, putting her arm to cover her eyes as she leaned against Alya. Her friend laughed this time, shoving her away as two boys approached them. Well, one approached them and the other was being dragged along.

"Yo Mar! Dudinette, our dynamic duo is now a barbershop quartet!" Nino, the bespectacled boy with a cap, called joyfully, tugging Adrien behind him. The blond gave a wave as he was pulled along.

"Nino, people don't appreciate being dragged." Marinette scolded him, hands on her hips. Nino grinned sheepishly.

"Whoops. I was excited?" He tried, getting a scoff and an eye roll from the blunette.

"Excited, my ass. Let him go." She crossed her arms and tapped her foot, eyeing him as he pouted. "Nino." She warned, raising an eyebrow. He sighed and let Adrien's arm hang by his side once more. At Alya's quizzical look, she grinned. "Good boy." She fished in her bag and tossed him a croissant.

Alya stared at the two weirdly. "Why do you treat him like your dog?!"

"Because cats don't listen to orders." Marinette threw her a cheeky grin. "Alya, meet my oldest friend, Nino. Nino, Alya, professional Chloe burn-er." She let them extend their hands towards each other after she introduced them.

"Nice to meet you, dudette."

"Same here, beats."

"Beats?" Nino raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at his lips.

"What else do I call you?" She tossed back, grinning. "You got the headphones." She tapped the headphones around his neck. (I am not saying they are Beats headphones, just sayin music, beats, y'know.)

Marinette cooed at the side, hands at her cheeks. They are so going to end up dating. Adrien watched her, a warm smile on his face, taking in her still sparkling eyes and petit frame. The feeling in his heart grew after seeing her teasing side, adding to his crush.

She took notice of his gaze and smiled, waving shyly. He returned the wave as his smile grew, moving to her side. "Think they'll notice us?" He nodded towards the two in front of them but his eyes remained on her, that genuine smile never leaving his face. She felt her face heat up at the proximity, forcing her eyes back on the pair.

"N-not really, th-they b-both seem p-pretty into each o-other." She stammered, internally groaning at herself for her unrelenting stutter. At least she was capable of getting out full sentences. At least he just kept smiling at her like that... No! Bad heart! Slow down!

"We never really introduced ourselves properly, did we?" He asked, turning to her, holding out a hand. "I'm Adrien Agreste."

She took his hand without hesitation. "I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng. W-welcome t-to Collège Françoise Dupont!" She smiled up at him, finding herself getting lost in his eyes. Before a screechy voice she dreaded interrupted.

"Adrikins!!"

She giggled a little as Adrien groaned under his breath, sending him a wink as the blond approached.

"What are you doing hanging out with that... peasant?!" Chloe spat at Marinette, earning a shocked glance from Adrien and a cool smirk from her.

"If the man with the least money in the world has many friends, he is the richest man in the world. I don't know about you, but I have quite a few treasures, while you appear to have one." She grinned as Alya slung an arm around her shoulders and Nino stood next to her. Adrien seemed to watch her in awe as Chloe fumed.

"My diamond jewelry seems to say otherwise." She boasted, showing off her necklace and earrings. Marinette rolled her eyes.

"Ah yes, a sparkly rock held up by more shiny rocks. What a valuable object." Her sarcastic tone got a couple of snickers from her friends and a scowl from Chloe.

"At least I don't live in a bakery." She sneered, but was taken back with surprise when Marinette laughed.

"Yes, at least you don't learn valuable life skills such as cooking, being sociable, cleaning and working." She giggled again as Chloe's scowl deepened. "While you have people doing everything for you, that also means you can't do anything yourself except whine.

With a sputter of disbelief, Chloe stormed off, heels clicking against the ground as Marinette high-fived Alya and fist-bumped Nino.

Adrien watched Chloe leave and turned back to Marinette, grinning widely. "Okay, you're amazing. I've been trying to get her to leave me alone for years and you made her leave in a few sentences! Can I hire you as my body guard?" She burst out laughing.

"No you can't, this baker's daughter already has a job, but thanks for the offer." In the spur of the moment, she, unthinking, pecked his cheek like she did with all her friends. "See ya 'round, pretty boy!" She called, waving as she skipped away, Alya hot on her tail.

Adrien's face could rival Nathanael's hair. Nino snickered again, watching his frozen friend finally melt into a huge dreamy smile. "She kissed me."

"On the cheek, bro." Nino let out a laugh as he slid and arm over his friend's shoulders.

Marinette sat down in her seat before processing what she just did. She froze, turned to Alya. "What did I just do?!" She whisper-yelled, thumping her head down on her desk. Alya started laughing, drawing the attention of Alix and Kim, who sat in the classroom arguing about something again.

"What did Marinette do now?" Alix smirked at the blushing girl who was hitting her head on her desk over and over again.

"She kissed new boy on the cheek, called him pretty boy, and miraculously, she has a crush on him." Alya grinned as Alix and Kim started laughing.

"My life is over!" Marinette cried for the second time that day, making the two laugh harder and earning curious looks as Rose and Juleka entered the room. "Why, why, why, why, why, why, why does the world hate me?!"

"Mari, the world doesn't hate you! In fact, you're quite loveable and friendly! I bet you could be friends with everyone!" Rose's bubbly voice lifted Marinette's head. She smiled at the sweet girl and the adoring look Juleka was giving the short blond.

"Except, you know, Chloe, but thanks Rose!" At her appreciation, Rose smiled adorably and bounded up to her seat.

And at that moment, Adrien and Nino walked in.

And Marinette started banging her head on the table.

Alix whistled. "Damn, Mar. You were right, he is hot." Marinette let out a loud groan, ignoring Adrien's startled blush and Alix's smirk.

"You're never going to let me forget this, are you?" She let out another exasperated groan as Alix and Alya shook their heads.

"You will forever be known as the accidental flirt." Alya announced, much to Alix' pleasure and Marinette's displeasure. Adrien blinked then realised what they were talking about.

"I am not a flirt!" She whined, pouting at her best friend. Alya giggled as she poked her arm.

"Prince Charming over here would beg to differ." She jerked her head towards Adrien, who sat in front of her with a smirk on his face. Marinette immediately squeaked and buried her burning face in her hands.

This was definitely going to be a confusing year.

This was definitely going to be an interesting year.

This is definitely going to be an eventful year.

But nobody would have it any other way.
