Meeting in different ways

I'll be doing a short series of OTP prompts for a bit, because my creativity is running low. Swearing, but I doubt anyone cares at this point.

Also, how many of you actually like my first 5 or so one-shots? I reread them a bunch and I cringe every time. UGH I WAS SO YOUNG, SO FOOLISH

BTW I'll be doing a domestic, holidays and angst thing of these because i collected a bunch

It was 7 am. Far too early to be awake by normal students standards, but not by Adrien's. No, he was trained to be up promptly (HA DID U SEE WHAT I DID THERE) at 5 every morning, no matter the cost. He barely needed more than an espresso anymore.

So there he was. Seated in the middle row of chemistry class, watching students trickle in and waiting for the teacher patiently (albeit on his phone).

What he didn't expect was that someone would sit next to him.

Startled, he glanced up to see a short girl with blue-black hair and the bluest eyes that ever did blue sit beside him. On the table was her notebook, a pen, a huge coffee and.... a can of Monster energy drink? Without so much as looking at him, she picked up the can, twisted it open, took the lid off her coffee and poured the whole energy drink in.

He sat there gaping as she tapped the aluminium can, watching the last few drops mix with the drink. Seemingly satisfied, she stirred the concoction with a pencil.

Finally, she looked up at Adrien. Her blue eyes glinted with the light of a thousand sunsets and sunrises at sea, sparkling and whirling in the depths or her irises. Hair tangled and unkempt and slightly damp, probably from the storm now raging outside. Skin pale but cheeks flushed, and a million freckles scattered over her small upturned nose and cheeks. Her lips, dry and chapped but still very pink, stretched in a wild grin that could rival the Cheshire Cat's with teeth so very white showing.

"I'm going to die." She turned her gaze back to the cup and impressively downed the whole thing in one breath. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I am not a morning person and wooo!! I'm awake now!" She whooped just as the lecturer walked in, pumping her fist in the air as several students laughed. Said lecturer shot her a displeased roll of the eyes.

"Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng! Please refrain from calling out during the lecture, and please don't fall asleep again."

"I sure as hell won't after that caffeine hit!" She yelled again, bringing a chuckle from Adrien's lips.

About halfway through the lesson, he slid a note towards her.

Hi, I'm Adrien Agreste. You'd be rather interesting to know, wanna get together sometime?

She lit up and gazed at him with a huge smile on her face.

You know? I have a thing for coffee. Pick where and when and I'll be there.

yeahhhhh idk man i just found these on google

"Hey Alya." Marinette smiled as she accepted the phone call from her best friend. "What's up?"

"Okay, I get that you're acting casual, but seriously you need to send me a picture because if he's hot by YOUR standards, he must be KILLER." Alya cut straight to the point, making Marinette giggle behind her hand.

"But how do I take it without looking like a stalker, hmm? Ever think about that?" Marinette said dryly, earning a grainy laugh from her friend. "Hold on, we're going through a tunnel." The noise jittered as she peered out the window, the lights of the train only just lighting the walls enough to notice details like railing and doors. It was like entering a portal into a place of just endless space, and night without stars. Darkness, but familiar darkness, slowly fading into light as they emerged from the tunnel.

"-ari? You out of the tunnel yet?" Alya's voice came back. "If you don't answer I'm going to start insulting you again."

Marinette mock gasped. "You vile creature! Insulting me while I'm cut off? How dare you!" Grinning at her best friend's snort of laughter, she continued. "I should revoke croissant privileges for a whole week.

"Noo!! I beg of you, please do not revoke the croissants!" She mimicked Darth Vader dramatically, probably falling to the floor somewhere. Marinette laughed aloud this time.

"Alright, I grant thee a pardon, young madam. Pray it does not happen again, else a thousand bees swarm your... face for all eternity!"

"Weak."

"Call me that again and I will revoke your pastry privilege."

"Okay, okay! Now come on, send me a picture!!"

"I can't just take pictures of people! It's rude and invasive!"

"How is it invasive? Or rude? It's flattering when random strangers take sneaky pictures of people!"

"To you maybe! What if he thinks it's just plain creepy? What if he thinks I'm stalking him? Jeez, Alya, I'm not you!"

"Ugh fine, I give. You're stubborn as a mule."

"Yeah, guess you could say I'm a real..."

"Don't you dare..."

"...ass."

"MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG THAT PUN WASN'T EVEN GOOD I WILL SLAP YOU-"

Marinette giggled again and snorted adorably at the flurry of texts causing her phone to buzz continuously, mainly in anger of her pun and of hanging up mid sentence. She glanced up again at the handsome stranger seated across from her.

He had tanned skin, a strong jawline, broad shoulders and a muscular build. His hair was like threads of sunshine, spun gold... practically Rapunzel's hair but shorter, and in that cute messy but neat way that made her heart melt. And his eyes, his eyes were so bright they could've burned a hole right through her and she'd still be smiling like a dork. So very green, the kind of green that can't really be put into words except that they shone like emeralds and were as warm as grass in the summer sun. His nose was just right, long and slightly upturned at the end, his cheekbones were prominent and sharp, and dear God, his neck was just drool-worthy. And his lips, his lips were a pair she'd dream of kissing.

...Was she a stalker?

No, she adamant she wasn't a stalker. She didn't even know the guy! Just that he was unfairly hot.

~*~

It wasn't the only time she'd seen him.

He seemed to pop up everywhere, on the train, in the supermarket, on the street. Every single time he took her breath away she gushed about him for about an hour to her best friend. And she still hadn't gotten a picture by a month after first seeing him.

Alya was getting impatient. She wanted to see this man that the blunette seemed to believe was the most beautiful person on the planet, but still, Marinette remained stubborn and refused to take a picture of him. So she came up with an idea.

"Pretend you're taking a selfie! That way it won't be so suspicious! Besides, you're always taking pictures of everything anyway!"

Marinette had paused and and slapped her forehead after a moment's contemplation. "I'm an idiot! That's genius, why didn't I think of it before?"

Alya simply smirked and patted her head. "I'm the smart one in this duo, sweetie." Which earned her a slap on the arm, but it was worth it.

And so that led us to today. Marinette was this time in the park, and mystery boy was sitting on a bench in front of her. Looking like an angel in the dappled sunlight, might I add. Anyway, so Marinette was flicking through her phone nervously, encouragement from Alya pouring out from her phone. Shakily opening her camera she positioned it so it looked like she was taking a selfie and posed, smiling brightly, and pressed the button...

Shit. Flash.

Cute guy looked up.

Fuuuuck. Pretend nothing happened, pretend nothing happened, pretend...

Anxiously screaming at her friend through texts, she tried to walk away, head down only to be stopped by a hand on her shoulder.

shitfuckshitfuckshitfuckshitfuck blonde hair and green eyes my only weaknesses

"I saw that, you know." He raised an eyebrow with a teasing smirk as she shrank back, blushing bright.

Shiiiiit his voice is sexy and deep fuck there is something wrong with me help me Alya save me

"I'm so, so sorry, my best friend has been bugging me for weeks and I couldn't think of a better time and oh my god I'm sooo sorry I shouldn't have done that it's completely violating I am so so sorry." She rushed out in a breath, frantically trying to save her lost dignity.

"You're lucky I've been trying the same thing for a couple weeks so I could prove to my friend Nino that I've seen an angel."

Shiiiii- wait what?!

"What?!" She yelped, completely startled out of her internal panic. "Smooth line, by the way." She noted in a moment of weird sanity.

He chuckled at her awkward weirdness before holding out a hand. "I'm Adrien, by the way. Can I get a name and a picture?"

She blushed again, biting her lips shyly. "M-Marinette, and sure, as long as I get one that's actually consented to as well."

Adrien grinned. "Well, how about I take a selfie and then you give me your number so I can send it to you?"

Marinette snorted. "Two birds with one line. Did you practice that?"

"If I told you the truth, would you be impressed or think I'm adorable?" He grinned again as she giggled. "Photo time, then number, then double date setting up our best friend who were so desperate to see us together?"

"You know what? That would be perfect payback." Marinette said with a smile as Adrien held up his phone, inconspicuously (very obviously) wrapping his arm around her shoulders as she flashed her white teeth. A certain lack of a flash later (damn it) and two minutes later, he had her number and she had his and they were parting ways to tell their respective best friends all about the lucky coincidence.

WOOO THAT WAS CUTE I LOVED IT HOW BOUT YOU NEXT UP WE HAVE THIS

IT ISNT EVEN A PROMPT BUT HELL I'M USING IT

Adrien wasn't competitive. He liked a little competition every now and then, but he didn't obsess over whether or not he was winning. In fact, what he did like was routine. And what was routine was his daily walk to work.

He drove up to the station, parked in the same spot every day, locked his car, walked up the stairs, caught a train to the centre of the city (I'm assuming that it's like what we have in Sydney, train stations in every suburb), got off the train and started the 20 minutes walk to work.

And every single day without fail, there was a short, mixed heritage woman with blue-ish hair and cerulean eyes always a few steps ahead of him. This didn't bother him, neither did the fact that she constantly beat him to the street corner because while he gets stopped by the light, she passes it. It was just comforting that she was there, like normal. If she wasn't there, he'd worry a little about her, but not too much because she was a stranger.

Today didn't quite fit to that routine. Today, he was ahead of the mixed woman. For the first time. It didn't bother him too much, though.

Clearly it bothered her.

She straight up ran in front of him, a grin on her face, turned around and said, "I've been winning for three months, can't stop now, see you tomorrow!" before dashing through the light while he was stopped.

Adrien gaped after her. Clearly someone else was competitive.

But, that light in her eyes and smile on her face...

With a smirk, he vowed to wear runners to work the next day.

okay but cute

Next we'll have domestic life then holidays because BUM DEE DUM HALLOWEEN IS IN 18 DAYS (19 for some of y'all) and then angst. One of the domestic life things will follow up one of these, the second one, and will cover the double date setting up Alya and Nino

Until then, catch y'all later, peeps
